Celebs Up the Ante for Online Video
August 20, 2008 8:09 AM
Celebrities are changing the rules of the game in online video. As big names like Rosario Dawson, Neil Patrick Harris and Jon Heder sign up to star in Web series, how does this up the ante for Web video creators? For all the details, check out this week's edition of the New Media Minute.
You'll also learn about how online video is becoming more competitive in other ways as Web networks like Revision3 scout for emerging Web stars, just as studios and agents do.
And finally, if the New York Police Department has its way, we'll all be crime fighters. That's because the NYPD is installing technology to let citizens upload photos and videos of crimes they see being committed. This week's New Media Minute considers this interesting hybrid of
citizen-"coppery" and weighs in on its potential for success or failure.
I'd love to hear what you think about these stories so please weigh in with a comment!
