Obama Antichrist: The Weird World of Political Searches
August 19, 2008 12:24 PM
Having analyzed Internet search patterns for over five years now, I find that it's rare that I'm surprised by what we search for on our favorite search engine. This morning, I decided to check in on the top search terms around the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. The seventh most popular search term was quite surprising.
While I've heard about this "urban legend" in the past, I had no idea how popular the actual query was. Conducting a Google search on that exact phrase (in quotes) returned 70,200 results, including the top result, a blog dedicated to the topic.
The most popular Web site visited after searching for "obama antichrist," accounting for 16.2 percent of visits, was the Urban Legends Reference Page (also known as Snopes.com), which may indicate that the popularity of the term might be explained by Internet users searching for information to debunk the myth.

Goes to show, still alot of questions circling around Obama with Americans. I wonder how many go to his Stop the Smears website set up to attack the rumors. Can't remember any other Presidential nominee having to spend so much time trying to prove he's qualified to be POTUS and dispell the "rumors".
HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN!

And yet as Frank Rich pointed out in Sunday's New York Times we know so little about McCain

One word: Ridiculous

Debra,
The last nominee you're trying to think of would have been KERRY.
And if you think so much of Hillary that you would vote Republican, you were never really a supporter, anyway.

Hmm. I know quite a few people who would follow obama off a cliff unquestionably. Like a bunch of little lemmings. Only lemmings will follow the antichrist.

If you are unfamiliar with bible prophecy, of course you'd think this search is ridiculous. But people who have read Bible prophecy realize that they need to be on the alert regarding Senator Obama, especially in light of his own rhetoric and campaign decisions which are overtly messianic in nature. Blame the candidate himself, for creating these rumors, not people searching for logical answers to what Obama himself has made an overtly in-your-face messianic message.

I'm surprised anyone is still talking about all that "Obama is the antichrist" stuff. Especially after he accepted the demoncrat nomination in a Temple on a mountain. Hmmmm...

I don't think Barack is the anti-christ, he is not smart enough! However, I do believe he is naive enough to be a pawn of the anti-crist spirit and if elected, will be corrupted by the power of the office due to his lack of maturity in his faith.

I think Obama is neither an antichrist nor a messiha. He is just a regular person with good speaking ability and also he has power to make people on his side.

You know McSame & the Repubs will do SAY & do ANYTHING to keep from talking about the issues in this election, like the economy, health care, or the wars or anything of great importance, so they will keep bring up cr*p like this, or the "lipstick" remark (even though McCain used the same remark at least 4 times - once describing Hillary's health care plan). This is an old ploy - it's the SAME tactics Rove used on McSame in 2000! It is really getting old, I can't believe people are falling for it and not getting the answers we really need!

I decided to do this search after watching the History channel today, it just struck me as having some crazy coincidences. Although, I'm more doing it for fun to see if there are people who think that. But I also feel it's wrong to blame the McCain camp for these claims. Some of Obama's followers seem lemming-ish, I do have to agree with that phrase...

We are definitely in the end times, and those of us that see Biblical prophecy fulfilled daily at a dizzying pace are keeping our eyes open for the players that are going to fill the stage. Daniel, Ezekiel, and John's Revelation all describe "The One" who will come to bring "peace" and befriend Israel for 3.5 years, rebuild the temple in Jerusalem and, according to Daniel, desecrate the temple, and the shroud will be lifted from him and he will be known as The Beast. The Bible describes antichrist as one without race, and he will come from the sea. (That could fit seeing as he was born in Hawaii, or it could be the US, as the prophecy was sent over 2500 years ago, before knowledge of the US). Depending on how you believe when the rapture is (taking up of the church), those who believe in Christ will probably be gone by the time this happens. I think the verdict's still out on Obama, as there have been many in history who have the spirit of antichrist (Nero, Hitler). But, those men have not been on the planet when there was a state of Israel. Now we've had an official state for 60 years. I know it all sounds ridiculous if you are not Bible literate, but there's so many things happening right now in the news everyday that point to the beginning of judgement on the earth.

Obama..anti christ..lol. thats giving him too much credit. He doesnt have the smarts or the devil given ability to be, but he is a motivational speaker that will turn a blind eye to allowing more evil in this world- i would say

I know this blog is about politics, but isn't it kind of stupid that the term "antichrist" has a negative connotation?
I mean, Jesus was a liar and a fraud. Who wouldn't want to be the opposite of that?
Christianity has done this nation and this world so much harm... if Obama really was the antichrist, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat...
But then again, I'm just playing semantics...

Wow, that last person voting for Obama if he was the antichrist...I am sorry!
When your friends who are christian dissappear off the face of the earth and a Syrian (who you did not know was a Syrian) offers an explanation of religious cleansing/karma and that you all LIKE god. You have two choices..accept Jesus Christ or take the mark.
At that time though God will allow you unbeleivers to be deluded and blinded, just like he blinded the Jews when Jesus rode the Donkey to Jeruselem.
I'd rather know the truth now. Praise Jesus!
PS. God allows the Devil and the Antichrist to take you down with him as a test. Stop giving the Devil all the credit.

The only Scriptural test for whether or not Obama is the Antichrist is to see his role in the rebuilding of the Third Jewish Temple...
If Obama eases Muslim-Jewish relations so as to facilitate the rebuilding of the Third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, then he IS the Antichrist/Antimessiah or at least an immediate forerunner of the Antichrist/Antimessiah. The actual Antichrist is the one who will, after the first 3.5 years of the Temple's daily sacrifices, put a stop to these sacrifices and offerings and set up his sacrilegious image on the altar [Holy Place] of the Jewish Temple...
Daniel 9:27 prophesies of one who "will make a firm covenant with the many for one week [7 years], but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering..." followed by desecration and terrible persecution by either this same person or another one synonymous with the sea "Beast" in Revelation 13.
Cross-referencing with Daniel 12:10-11, in which JESUS (the non-angelic "man dressed in linen") states: "many will be purged, purified and refined; but the wicked will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand, but THOSE WHO HAVE INSIGHT WILL UNDERSTAND. And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1290 days [3.5. years as in Daniel 9:27]."
In the New Testament Jesus forewarned(Matthew 24:15): "Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation WHICH WAS SPOKEN OF THROUGH THE PROPHET DANIEL, standing in the Holy Place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee [the unbearable "great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall...", vs. 21]..."

True. He is too stupid to be the antichrist, but he may just be smart enough to be the false prophet. That is unless Oprah already has that spot locked up.

Why not just put the "AntiChrist" bull to bed for good. The Bible (KJV) does not mention the Anti-Christ in the book of Revelation at all (if you can find the word Antichrist in that book I'll eat it) so any reference made to the book of Revelation in your "evidence" is automatically discounted because it doesn't deal with the Anti-Christ at all. Second, the only books (1st and second letters of John) that even use the word only use it in plural form (Antichrists) and each time it refers to a group not a person ("these are antichrists"). So, through all of these years religious fanatics have claimed one person after another to be "the Antichrist" when, according to the Bible, there is no Antichrist, just groups of Antichrists. Besides, the book of Revelation was written 95 years after the death of Jesus and the Muslim faith didn't exist for about another 400 years, so for Muslims to be insinuated into this theory at all is just a rediculous thought.
As for all of those other verses used from Daniel, Ezekiel etc.. Show me just one of those verses that indicates it's talking about the Antichrist. You can't, because there isn't one. Misinterpretation of the bible has gotten thousands of people to give the name "Antichrist" to several different figures in the scriptures, but the scriptures themselves don't point to any one person as the antichrist, just groups (basically any group that doesn't follow God's laws) of antichrists, or "those against Christ", so to use the Bible to identify the antichrist you would just have to say that all non-Christians are antichrists. The arguement that the "beast" is the antichrist doesn't hold water because the Bible never says a thing to indicate that the beast is the antichrist.
