$1 Million, 7-Night, All-Out Luxury in Abu Dhabi
August 20, 2008 1:29 PM
Awash in cash from soaring oil prices, the United Arab Emirates has become the ultimate destination for luxury travel. The Burj Al-Arab was the first to coin the concept of a 7-star hotel in Dubai. And as of July, Emirates Airlines began offering first-class passengers the world's only in-flight showers on its Airbus 380.
Now the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi has upped the ante. For $1 million, the hotel is advertising a 7-night “once in a lifetime all-out vacation.” The package for two includes day trips in private jets to Iran and Bahrain, as well as gifts of jewels and guns.
Here is what’s on this “program of pure opulence” for about $140K a night:
* First-class round-trip flights from any international destination serviced by Etihad Airlines to Abu Dhabi
* Seven-night stay in a more than 7,000 sqare-foot Palace Suite at Emirates Palace on an all-inclusive basis
* Chauffeur driven German luxury Maybach at your disposal during your stay in Abu Dhabi
* Daily spa treatment in the Anantara Spa
* Day trip in private jet to Iran to create your own Persian carpet from the most exclusive and well-renowned hand-maker
* Day trip in private jet to the Dead Sea Jordan to experience the famous sea and an afternoon Anantara spa treatment in the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar
* Day trip to Bahrain in private jet for a deep sea diving pearl experience. Your pearl will then be hand designed with jewelry settings
* Royal Golf experience at Abu Dhabi Golf Club
* Make your own perfume with experts from YAS Perfume
* Deep sea fishing trip
* Gifts including helicopter sunset and desert island tour.
* Gifts including the rarest pearls in the world from Robert Wang and a selection from Holland & Holland Sporting Guns
The Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is operated by Kempinski, Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group. For reservations call 011 971 2 690 9000 or visit www.EmiratesPalace.com.

The guns are to protect yourself from terrorists. The suite doesn't look so great with its neo-crapical style.

Can I substitute the gun for something else?
