McCain Scaling Back in Wisconsin, New Hampshire and Colorado?

October 21, 2008 2:05 PM

Democratic sources say the McCain camp may be giving up on New Hampshire and Wisconsin.

Instead of placing new television advertising buys in those states, they say the McCain campaign is stretching out previous ad buys over more days rather than devote new ad money.

No denial from the McCain camp.  One source said simply, "We are on the air in those states."

Obama is leading McCain by 12 percentage points in Wisconsin and by 7 percentage points in New Hampshire, according to the latest polls.

With two weeks left until Election Day, Barack Obama holds a $37-million advantage.

Combined with funds raised by the Democratic National Committee, Obama started the final weeks of the campaign flush with $161 million, while John McCain and the Republican National Committee began October with $124.4 million to spend on the election.

UPDATE: Ad buyers in the battleground state of Colorado are seeing the same dynamic ... no new McCain ad buys and stretching out the old ones. Obama leads McCain 51 - 47 in the latest CNN/Time poll of Colorado voters.

Maybe he's just waiting for the last week to barrage those already sick of Obama's junk-mail?

Someone said, "Money talks in this election."

May I add, "It is MY money that is talking and I will keep sending it until November 4."

After forty years, my voice is finally being heard.

So, how often, during his stint in the Senate, did Obama coordinate and align his vote with Reid and Pelosi and the Dems?

Posted by: Mr. Incredible | Oct 21, 2008 2:47:40 PM

Please stop this shoddy journalism. McCain is not giving up on any state, he is using his money a little more wisely since he opted for public financing. I am sick of these negative bash McCain articles while the top story is Obama visiting his grandmother. Excuse me, but that's what normal people do everyday so why is Obama special for doing it. This country is in deep dodo because we are worshipping a man that has never done anything remarkable in his life. People, please stop this insanity.

** I only worship God. I'm not sure about you are you making McCain your God?

McCain has bigger problems than those states. Even here in Indiana, which is supposed to be one of the most reliably red states, we are starting to turn a lovely shade of purple. Which I hope will develop into a nice hue of cobalt or royal blue by Nov 4th. My husband and I will be going to vote early this Saturday - for Obama. Oh, and we will only vote once. Legally.

REMEMBER: "Share the wealth," as November 4 approaches.

McCain/Pain

Posted by: pierre | Oct 21, 2008 2:49:18 PM

Gov. Palin was a mistake, poor judgement and confirmation that the Republicans and McCain camp have no idea what is needed for leadership. Mr. McCain is clearly running out of steam. How can we remotely consider this man for President. I do not think he has the energy or the focus. Ms. Palin will consisitently and continually embarras the country. Mr. & Mrs. McCain in the white house is a guarantee that we will alienate every aly that we have left - and lord knows there aren't many left.

Today Palin said VP is in-charge of US Senate. Check this video:

GOP ship is sinking at full speed !!!

Honest GOPs are jumping out of the ship early.
Hard core GOPs Rudy 9-11, Flip Flop Mit Romney, and Saracuda Palin should do the same. or they will hit rock bottom pretty soon, and it will NOT look pretty !

LOLOLOLOLO !!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: skyglider2008 | Oct 21, 2008 2:50:35 PM

Did John McCain vote "with" Bush any more than Obama voted with Reid, Pelosi and the Dems?

Posted by: Mr. Incredible | Oct 21, 2008 2:50:45 PM

Thank god, no more commercials.

Conservatives talk about Ayers (even though Obama has explained it), Muslim faith (even though he's not), his wife being mean (even though Cindy is a drug addict)

but American can't question John McCain or Sarah Palin (even though she abused her power)

So the reality is we can question democrats but not republicans because they are more patriotic??!!

Thats a joke along w/ the conservative campaign~!

If nothing else, "share the wealth" oughta motivate the voter in the couple-a weeks.

Posted by: Mr. Incredible | Oct 21, 2008 2:51:56 PM

We are almost there. Obama 08
Perhaps McCain should get in touch with his black relatives from Mississippi. They could help him.

Posted by: ann | Oct 21, 2008 2:52:09 PM

What is Medicare, Social Security and palin taking money from the Oil companies and giving it to the citizens of Alaska? Is that not redistribution of wealth or is it socialism?
Obama at least can look down the road and see the implication of his actions.
That is why he opted out of public financing, is running a better campaign than McSaime because they underestimated him. But then that is what a good education and IQ does for individuals

C'mon, Libs, as long as you're talking about McCain's lining up his votes with Bush, let's talk about how often Obama voted with Pelosi, Ried and the Dems.

Ok, so McCain voted "with" Bush, what, 98% of the time.
Let's examine the Obama voting record, and I'll bet we'll find that Obama voted with Pelosi and Reid and the Dems 100% of the time.

and

"Share the wealth" oughta make your blood boil. If nothing else does, THAT should be what animates you November 4 against NObama.

Posted by: Mr. Incredible | Oct 21, 2008 2:45:23 PM

** Not really when 1% of the country makes 50% of the wealth.. shows how small minded republicans are.. they'd rather have people suffer here, in Iraq, In Afghanistan, and everywhere else if they could.. We need to fix home before we fix the world~

Posted by: paint VA blue | Oct 21, 2008 2:54:53 PM

I wanna talk about McCain voting with Bush all the time; but I also wanna talk about Obama's voting with Pelosi, Reid and the Dems all the time.

Posted by: Mr. Incredible | Oct 21, 2008 2:55:34 PM

I'm here to tell you "my friends" that it's time for me to retire to my thousand homes and cars in the sunny southwest. I'm going out slinging as much mud and lying through my teeth as much as I can before the curtain comes down on this one man charade.

Farewell "my friends" - the lights are almost out and the party is almost over.

am anticipating plenty of attacks on Gov Palin's intelligence as well as a daily dose of liberal propagandist polls of small controlled samples that advance the cause. Are you still claiming to be an objective journalist?

Posted by: steve | Oct 21, 2008 2:42:37 PM

** Steve we the American people can't help that Sarah Palin is an idiot!

Posted by: paint VA blue | Oct 21, 2008 2:56:32 PM

MGarr - good for you - I sent 30 bucks to Obama yesterday.

I really do live in NH. My Dad is 78, dying of cancer, and has never voted for a Democrat in his life.

He voted for Bush twice, and is disgusted with the outcome. He's disgusted with McCains campaigning. This year, he's voting Obama, and proud of it.

I think there are lots more where he came from...
