Ted Kennedy Returning to DC
October 28, 2008 10:46 AM
Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., is returning to him home in Washington D.C., sources tell ABC News.
He will continue his treatments in Washington and may go to his Senate office during lame duck session where he hopes to work on his health care plan and participate in the stimulus debate during the lame duck session of Congress, sources say.
Kennedy, the third-longest-serving senator in history and patriarch of the Kennedy family, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May.
The longtime Massachusetts Democrat has been at his family's compound in Cape Cod and undergoing treatment.
Kennedy's last major public appearance was at the Democratic National Convention in August where he gave a rousing speech endorsing Barack Obama for president.

The Kennedys...what a joke of a family. Just what this country needs, a family dynasty to ensure the people can never elect new blood into office. Let's just bring back King George and be done with it.

Ted Kennedy has worked harder than anyone in this country to ensure that everyone has access to quality health care.
Those of you who make disparaging comments about him are simply showing everyone what vile people you really are. You are gutless, nasty, despicable people, and I wish you had the fortitude to post your full names and the cities you live in so that everyone can know exactly who you hateful people are. As inhumane as you are, I wouldn't wish Ted Kennedy's current health problems on you - even though you probably deserve them.

yeah bob, you sound real nice yourself

Post their full names and cities just like you did Bob?

Wish the very best for Senator Kennedy one of the finest this country has produced. God bless him.

I think it is very sad to hear people say horrible things about anyone. Republican or Democrat. Liberal or Conservative. Particularly, those conservatives that say they are followers of Jesus Christ. I can't imagine that Jesus would agree with the vicious things said on this blog or in our daily lives. What happened to "love one another"? Unfortunately, I believe some people think that means love one another if they are exactly like you are. If Jesus were here today and looked like he did back then believing the same way, you would throw stones at him or worse. IF you believe in Jesus or any other god, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Be nice to others, because karma is a bitch.

WHO CARES!!HE wants his wife to run if something happens to him!!!!This type of people are what is wrong with american politics.

Linda and Gary: Somebody's not getting it. Would you like to tell me what was so wrong with what I said? So it's for "Obama it won't work" to make a snide comment about taking a ride in Ted Kennedy's car, something that happened in 1968 or 1969 and which resulted in one death. However, I don't dare bring up the fact that George W. Bush and his failed policies are responsible for the deaths of more than 4,000 American soldiers?? Well, pucker up.

Kitty, just move on, right? That's what all the dems say, then they invoke the past.

Term limits. If we had term limits for all politicians..not just the President...then we would see less vitriol, hate, disenfranchisement etc on these type boards. Term limits for the President came about due to fears of Monarchy during our country's early years...unfortunately those seeking lower office back then saw congress and the senate as a place to pursue their interests instead of serving as a 'disinterested' public servant. For those of you who don't know the old world definition of disinterestedness..it means serving your country without any personal gain and probably going broke in the process...just like what happened to Thomas Jeffferson after he left office.

Thanks Alex. Finally some sanity on this board

Sorry there Kitty Kitty...I was just using your post to sarcastically respond to Linda who may have mistakenly believed that you are/or should be a christian...( now the sarcastic part)...when we all know that Democrats aren't christian ( again...more sarcasm..and no offense to you I hope).

If everyone did something nice for people, rather than being rude here or in life we would all be better off. http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/10/28/foreclosed.home/index.html

Yep SadJesus....couldn't agree more with your logic....but...as Mike Ditka once said, "If 'if's' and 'buts' were candy and nuts then everyone would have a Merry Christmas!"

He means nothing to me.Good ridance.

Gary, I understand what you are saying, but isn't that part of Christianity? To believe the ifs and buts are possible? To dream, hope and pray for better things to come? And work toward those goals? I agree that the reality is different sometimes, but don't we (society at large, individual people) make our own reality? As a Christian, it just saddens me that people, in general and on this blog, are so horrible when talking about someone they don't even know. They just think they know them based on what they have read. Probably is the so called "liberal media" they all love to hate! But I love karma. I speak from experience, because it has bitten me in the past as I am sure it will bite the jerks on this blog.

sadjesus: My husband and I live in a 1000 square foot house in a rural area. My sister and her husband live in a house at least twice that size in a suburban area. We have two bedrooms, they have four. We have one bathroom, they have 2-1/2. We have no garage, they have a 2-car garage. They are about to be foreclosed on. Not only that, this will be the second house they've lost. And you're saying what? I should buy their house and let them live there?

Yes SadJesus...again I agree...and am glad to see you qualified your post with "and work ( emphasis on 'work') towards those goals". But I do think that people feel they get to know a politician, in particular, based on that politicians body of work in government; deeds done both public and private; as well as verbal statements made to the media. Mr. Kennedy's long tenure in government has allowed us to put together a picture of him with expressed opinions formulated from his behavior. He has had to defend his positions to the public and media..thus giving us more than a glimpse into his thoughts and personality.

are you people serious?? that man has done more damage to the principles of this country than any other elected official in 50 years. If he believes so much in universal heathcare why doesn't he go to cuba for his treatment???

WELCOME BACK TED KENNEDY..
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND GIVE YOU A MILLION MORE YEARS TO SERVE AMERICA AND PULVARIZE THE GRAND OLD LIERS..

Why would you feel sorry for a man who is so liberal. His wife, Joan, became an alocholic because of him. What good has he done in the Senate but rant and rave? Yes, he has a brain tumor and for that we can all feel sorry for him - because you cannot live for a long period with a brain tumor - but get real- his record stinks.
Posted by: Jane | Oct 28, 2008 12:49:12 PM
More damage than GEORGE W. BUSH??? Give me a freakin break.
Posted by: Melinda | Oct 28, 2008 12:50:09 PM
health care is in loots of trouble with im working on it, its takeing so long he wants to make sure the insurans companys get it all, an not the people.
Posted by: robert marks | Oct 28, 2008 12:56:14 PM
I can't believe anyone would actually believe this man has helped this country at all. If not for JFK this man would be a footnote at best!
Posted by: just say no! | Oct 28, 2008 1:02:28 PM
Jane: "His wife, Joan, became an alocholic because of him." Her parents were alcoholics and she's been diagnosed as bi-polar. I really don't think she became an alcoholic "because of him."
