Can you guys on air explain what the ticker is on the bottom of the screen. What the percentage is for and the way to read it. I had trouble last time.

Well Tammy, if the ticker is positive, it means that Obama is ahead, if the ticker is negative, it means McCain is ahead.

We are making history tonight, Democrats and Republicans. We are showing the rest of the world, the USA can still set the bar for the world to follow.

I am going to change the channel. I usually only watch ABC, but for goodness sake, you guys have phones ringing in the background and it is horribly annoying. Can't you mute them? One can barely pay attention to what you are saying.

so who won SC Mccain or Obama the website shows Mccain with 10083 and Obama with 13725 votes(?) and 42% and 57% respectively so who actually projectedly won SC?

How can you call SC for McCain with 0% in and Obama up by 11%??

Maybe at the big bash tonight in Grant Park Obama can acknowledge that he is standing near the site of 6,000 good Americans prisoners buried in a mass grave by the Union during the conflict between the states. Grant is the one who put the prison into use early in the war. Another war crime.

Cnn is showing electoral votes on tv for obama at 72 and the web map is showing 102. How is that possible?

I want to know why no one has pointed out a little bit of history. Sen Obama is the Senator of the State of Illinois of which is known as the Land Of Lincoln who also happens to be the president who signed the proclamation that freed the slaves. Isn't it amazing that the possibility of our first black president comes from the same state of the president who helped free the slaves and a key person in history to even make nights like tonight possible.

I work part-time at that famous bowling alley. I don't know if your reporter was confused, but the video you shows is from the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center in Altoona, PA.

I think it is absurd how you continue to make race the biggest issue in this election. I guess we should call it "Race" to the Race to the White House. It is very sad to imagine that Americans vote for a president based solely on the color of their skin and not what they stand for. Let's get our facts straight, this "race" isn't about economy, it is about ethnicity!

I've been switching channels all day and haven't been able to find any election coverage here in California. We have two ABC stations that have just been showing the regular daytime soaps all day.

God Bless the United States! AND, I certainly hope he is watching over the election himself! NOT listening to the Media,Talk Shows and their Hosts, whom of late, have more than disappointed me by using their most fortunate platforms to be completely one sided, make unacceptable jokes, push their opinions, and imply that any other choice than theirs...is wrong! I personally have decided not to watch many of them in the future! As far as the Election Coverage - I am disappointed there too - I don't see fairness to either party by your "Predictions". How is this a help when the Polls have not even closed in some States. One moment you say "It's too soon to make this prediction" Yet, in the next sentence you decide to predict another State where only 4% has reported? I will stick to doing my own research and pray others will do the same!

My white 92 yr old grandmother voted for Obama today with pride. After seeing so much in her life time she said she never thought she would have the opportunity to vote for a black man for president. God Bless America!

I am watching the election news on both the television and the internet. I find it absolutely amazing that the news media are projecting states to be won by either party without at least 50% of the precincts from the state reporting in. I find it really astounding too that the predictions aren't conclusive with current on screen totals. States said to be won be one or the other candidate and the totals don't match? Is there a glitch somewhere? From the above messages, I don't think I am the only person out here who is more than just a little bit confussed. I personally believe that yes, the people want to know what is going on and we are accustomed to knowing nearly instantly, but accuracy is far more important than the publics "need" to know. Neither Mr. McCain or Mr. Obama deserve an in-accurate projection, and that is what is happening, projections, forecasts, rather like fortune-telling. When 3% or 19% or 35% of a states precincts are reporting how can a state be projected to either candidate?
That is beyond "fuzzy math" that is out and out guess work! This is too important of an issue for that type of media "creation." Yes, I said it, media creation, not reporting, but creating the news. Thank you
