Is Sarah Palin the Future of the GOP?
November 11, 2008 7:39 AM
Gov. Sarah Palin doesn't want to get "Quayled."
Dan Quayle never got over the gaffes he made in the campaign when he ran for and became vice president in 1988.
He became something of a national joke.
Palin doesn't want to let that image of her solidify in this post-election period.
That's why she's doing a round of interviews this week, telling Fox News that "if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."
Later this week she is going down to Miami for the Republican Governors Association annual meeting where she will appear on a panel on the future of the Republican Party called "Looking Toward the Future" and holding a major news conference.
She is determined to make sure her image survives this campaign.
But there are other Republicans looking to take the mantle of the Republican Party.
There's a vacuum of leadership at the top of the Republican Party right now.
There's Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, an Indian-American, who some people call the Republicans' Barack Obama. You also have Gov. Charlie Crist down in Florida.
This is a free-for-all for the leadership of the GOP -- and Sarah Palin wants to be part of it.
She's certainly knocking on the door right now, checking to see if it's locked.

Mariann Pepitone, when people like you make comments like that, you make our point for us better than anything...

Tired of Palin: The democrat dogs are only going to be in office for one term like Jimmy Carter. By the way why don't you turn in your resume and try running for office yourself but don't be mad if the door slams in your fool face. Palin don't have to worry about being governor for another term. You have to worry about accomplishing goals in your life which I doubt you can do. Most of the commentor's on this message board will never accomplish anything and will amount to what they are NOTHING. Many young people go to college to avoid working because they have sucker parent's paying their way and giving them the money for drugs and booze. That's what happened to Obama his grandmother gave him the money to buy them. Didn't you know he left his brains at Harvard.

Did anyone watch the interviews with Fox? I highly doubt it. You are merely looking for another attack on Palin from the headline of this article. As throughout history, humans tend to look for a source to vent their hate on. It looks like liberals have chosen Palin for now. If you noticed, the media had spread lies and rumors, and still is, about Palin throughout the campaign. Injustly, the media scarcely gave Palin a chance for rebuttal, and if they did, it was always too late to put the fire out. All of this being said, how could it not be Bush''s fault that the GOP failed to get re-elected?!!! I don''t care which Republican/Democrat I talk to, they all seem to agree that getting a GOP candidate elected after Bush''s 8 years was an uphill and impossible battle. You brainwashed liberals who can''t see this are a minority and you need to pull your head out of your butt.

Sarah Palin is like Bush. She is blaming everyone but herself for her failures. Time for that woman go go back to small town politics and let the rest of us move on.

So, I wonder if she is going to take all her kids to Miami for the Republican Governors Association annual meeting, I'm sure Alaska will foot the bill for all of them... It's warm there so they will all probably need new clothes too.

George, you are such a gentleman translating what Palin said into plain English so that we can understand.
The direct transcript of what she said is as follow:
"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door ... And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."

How many of you were aware of her political career prior to her nomination for the Republican VP?? I dare say little to no one...so where did you "learn" about Ms. Palin? OH, that's right! From the liberal media! The same media that leaned in favor towards Obama, no doubt aiding in his election of President of this country...I dare say before slamming this woman, you may want to check out the real facts surrounding her term as governor as well as her political past / future..or you could let the media make up your minds for you...very scary as to whose hands this election passed through...mindless sheep a.k.a. a majority of the American people.

You all sound like a bunch of high school girls who are jealous of the popular one that just happens to be both attractive and intelligent. I bet she does scare you. You don't want honesty and integrity - you want lies and deceit. Well I think you're going to get - at least for the next 4 years!!

PALIN IS AN EXTREME EXAMPLE OF HOW IMPORTANT AN EDUCATION IS-----ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE MAKES BUSH LOOK LIKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST .WE KNOW WHY MCCAIN IS LAYING LOW----HE DONT WANT THE BLAME FOR HER.
Posted by: rodney | Nov 11, 2008 8:44:31 AM
Thank you Kathy! This is what I've been saying all along! :) See people: INTELLIGENCE ;)

Hey MindlessSheep, don't forget McCain's aides. You don't have to be a Dem to dislike Palin.

KATHY
I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT NO ONE IS JEALOUS OF PALIN--NO WAY NO HOW.
Posted by: rodney | Nov 11, 2008 8:46:09 AM
For all the comment's about Sarah, I wonder if your mother's are dumbo's like you are or was it your father's. Or maybe your parent't are divorced and can't stand each other. One thing is for sure, none of you will ever accomplish anything in your lifetime, never get to the top and will always be what you are. NOTHING!! If any of you are in college, drugs and booze is the problem as stated on the news. Grow up and get a life. Clean up your own backyard before you start on someone's else's and get rid of the jealousy over someone that is better than you ever will be. I know many college student's are duds. Watch the Leno show when he's asking them simple questions that they can't answer. One question was who was the first president, the answer was I don't know. That's the college student's today. Know nothing, say nothing and do nothing.

If people are going to solidify an image of Palin based on the media elitist bias against her, they don't have a clue. With modern media, it is possible to manipulate and control the public's image of just about anybody. If you believe the things that were motivated by hatred against Palin for simply being an opposing force to Obama, then you are the biggest fool of all. Quit allowing yourselves to be blinded with a superficial stereotypes, or else you are being the biggots you think everyone else is. Palin is doing something right up there in Alaska, and in times like these, the state of Alaska will be an economic lighthouse. People can play the popularity game all day, but in the end, the numbers tell the truth: Jennifer Granholm (Obama advisor) - 10% approval rating as governor, weakest state economy. Sarah Palin - 90% approval rating as governor, strongest state economy. Call me crazy, but I guess I'm more of a numbers guy.

I am sooo tired of people trash Governor Palin. They should wait until they've accomplished something even close to what she's done. And, as far as her qualifications, could she have possibly have done worse than the highly educated, elitists who trashed our economy?! How much education do you need to know you don't give sub-prime loans to people who can't pay it?!

I hear that a 12th grader from Wasilla High School plans to debate GOV. Palin for the Senate seat!
This was dreamed up by a Mr. Jonson, the students' world history and legal studies instructor.

And of course, nimrod men are intimidated as well. everyone knowns George is a screaming liberal and never never says anything questionable about the democrats. Everything he says is as if he were hired by the Democrats. he should just work for them.
