Guide to Election Night: Six Early States to Watch
November 04, 2008 2:20 PM
Here are the six states to watch between 7pm and 8pm on Election Night:
Virginia and Indiana after the last polls close at 7pm, Ohio and North Carolina after 7:30pm, and then Pennsylvania and Florida after 8pm.
These are the canaries in the coal mine.
McCain campaign manager Rick Davis conceded on "This Week" that John McCain has to win five out of six of these states to have a viable path to the presidency.
He could get there by holding all of the Bush states -- Indiana, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina -- and losing Pennsylvania.
But he will then need to secure Nevada, Iowa, and Colorado and all the rest of the GOP safe seats later in the evening.
That puts him at 270.
Or, if McCain manages a long shot win in Pennsylvania, his possibilities open up.
He could then lose Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado, and still win. Or, he could lose Indiana in that scenario and still win.
But if in these early states Obama holds on to Pennsylvania and wins just one more -- any of the other five -- only a John McCain miracle later in the evening can deny Obama the White House.

If the election came down to You-Tube viewers, a pro-John McCain video would be the winner.
A video of an Iraq veteran giving his endorsement to McCain is the site's most watched election video, with 11 million views, according to the BBC, which calls it "short, simple and powerful."
The video opens with a young man with close-cropped hair standing outside in casual clothes next to an American flag.
"Dear Mr. Obama," he says, and describes himself as an Iraq war veteran, whose yearlong tour convinced him that Iraqis are "just like us" in seeking freedom.
"Are they better off today than they were in 2002? You bet," he says.
The man proceeds to list the reasons he doesn't agree with Obama's policies toward Iraq and instead is endorsing John McCain for president, "because he understands the fundamental truth, freedom is always worth the price."
The man then walks away from the camera, revealing he has a prosthetic left leg.

OBAMA'S MILITANT RACISM REVEALED
In her senior thesis at Princeton , Michele Obama, the wife of Barack Obama
stated that America was a nation founded on 'crime and hatred'.
Moreover, she stated that whites in America were 'ineradicably racist'. The
1985 thesis, titled 'Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community' was
written under her maiden name, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.
Michelle Obama stated in her thesis that to 'Whites at Princeton , it often
seems as if, to them, she will always be Black first...' However, it was reported
by a fellow black classmate, 'If those 'Whites at Princeton ' really saw Michelle
as one who always would 'be Black first,' it seems that she gave them that
impression'.
Most alarming is Michele Obama's use of the terms 'separationist' and
'integrationist' when describing the views of black people.
Mrs. Obama clearly identifies herself with a 'separationist' view of race.
'By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as
a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desperation
of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an
integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.'
Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would likely lead to
her 'further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure
that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full
participant.'
Michele Obama clearly has a chip on her shoulder.
Not only does she see separate black and white societies in America , but she elevates black over white in her world.
Here is another passage that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning:
'There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black
community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize
all of my present and future resources to benefit the black
community first and foremost.'
What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if she's first
lady that will elevate black over white in America ?
The following passage appears to be a call to arms for affirmative action
policies that could be the hallmark of an Obama administration.
'Predominately white universities like Princeton are socially and academically
designed to cater to the needs of the white students comprising the bulk of
their enrollments.'
The conclusion of her thesis is alarming.
Michelle Obama's poll of black alumni concludes that other black students
at Princeton do not share her obsession with blackness. But rather than
celebrate, she is horrified that black alumni identify with our common
American culture more than they value the color of their skin. 'I hoped that
these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of
identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational
path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a
certain level of identification with the black community. However, these
findings do not support this possibility.'
Is it no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist questionnaire?
Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.
Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd of Obama supporters and see
Americans. She sees black people and white people eternally conflicted
with one another.
The thesis provides a trove of Mrs. Obama's thoughts and
world view seen through a race-based prism. This is a very
divisive view for a potential first lady that would do untold
damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama
administration.
Michelle Obama's intellectually refined racism should give all
Americans pause for deep concern.
Now maybe she's changed, but she sure sounds like someone with an axe to
grind with America . Will the press let Michelle get a free pass over her obviously
racist comment about American whites? I am sure that it will.
PS: We paid for her scholarship.

The Los Angeles Times is refusing to release a videotape that it says shows Barack Obama praising a Chicago professor who was an alleged mouthpiece for the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was a designated terrorist group in the 1970s and '80s.
According an LA Times article written by Peter Wallsten in April, Obama was a "friend and frequent dinner companion" of Rashid Khalidi, who from 1976 to1982 was reportedly a director of the official Palestinian press agency, WAFA, which was operating in exile from Beirut with the PLO.
Click here to read the original LA Times story: 'Palestinians See a Friend in Barack Obama.'
In the article -- based on the videotape obtained by the Times -- Wallsten said Obama addressed an audience during a 2003 farewell dinner for Khalidi, who was Obama's colleague at the University of Chicago, before his departure for Columbia University in New York. Obama said his many talks with Khalidi and his wife Mona stood as "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases."

GOD FORBID OBAMA IS ELECTED TOMORROW!!! WITHIN 2 WEEKS THE COUNTRY WILL FALL INTO A PANIC. YOU WILL HAVE ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME AS YOU VOTED FOR A PHONY AND SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE ENEMY!!! HE IS ALREADY TELLING HIS ADVISORS TO DUMB DOWN HIS PROMISES SO HIS JIM-JONES KOOL AID DRINKING BLIND ROBOT LIKE SUPPORTERS DONT GET UPSET AFTER THE ELECTIONS. FOR SOME IT WILL ONLY TAKE DISASTER TO OPEN THEIR EYES!!! AVERT DISASTER NOW!!!! You have got to understand if Obama is elected he will be sort of like Fidel Castro. If no one in the USA is allowed to be rich we will ALL be poor just like in Cuba where no one can afford a new car anymore never mind a new house. He also used cocaine in his 20's would you hire him if he said that in a job interview? If foreign investors like China and other countries see him as the 'tax man' they will no longer invest in America and start investing where its cheaper and more lucrative for them. When the war ends not only the soldiers will be out of work, but all the companies that supply the military will also have massive layoffs thereby hurting the economy even worse. THE COUNTRY IS AT WAR!!! THE WAR IS KEEPING THE USA ALIVE ECONOMICALLY. It employs millions and millions of workers. It generates trillions of dollars for our current economy. Its why we arent in a depression yet! Also the Dems and Barney Frank want to cut military spending by as much as 25% (but not end the war) so this would leave our troops leaving them in harms way these cuts mean they dont get the extra armor for vehicles or body armor etc. For our troops to be outgunned and under armored means we lose the war! America needs to be ready to win the war we are in and any future war. I dont see Obama as a war time leader he is more of a Jimmy Carter. I like the Halloween candy analogy 'redistribution of wealth' means one kid go's out and gets all the candy but has to SHARE all the candy with his brothers and sisters (leaving him not so rich). I dont want to live in the "United States of Cuba" ask any Cuban what its like to live under Castro. Also Obama lies! He even lied about his own Aunt. If he doesnt know about his own Aunt do you want him in charge of national securty???Vote McCain!!! Do you think the terrorists and Islamic Fundamentalists we are at war with will ever surrender?? They have been at war with each other for centuries!! Your childrens and their childrens future hinges on your vote. Vote for a safe USA and world! Vote McCain!

WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? Obama explained his plan to the San Francisco Chronicle this year, early this year. And he said that, sure, if the industry wants to build coal fired power plants, then they can go ahead and try, he says, but they can do it only in a way that will bankrupt the coal industry, and he’s comfortable letting that happen
Posted by: Terry | Nov 3, 2008 8:57:50 AM
It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings. Go Obama and Biden! Give'em hell!
Posted by: Hokuto | Nov 3, 2008 8:58:03 AM
What Obama said about the COAL INDUSTRY
HIS WORDS:
"If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," Barack Obama said to the San Francisco Chronicle in January.

In battleground states like my own (Missouri) the GOP campaign gets nastier and nastier. I'm sure the same is true for all the states you list. We all knew that last minute exaggerations, lies, fear and nasty would be the GOP tactic. But the situation is still the same. Millions have been or are being laid off. Retirees have lost Trillions in value in retirement funds. People have lost homes, health care, pensions, the ability to send children to college/vocational school. Meanwhile rich CEOs like McCain adviser Carly Fiorina got 40 million dollar parachutes for laying people off. Even now, CEO's are scheduled for 70 billion in bonuses THIS YEAR, many to bailed out companies. In other words, the Bush-Cheney, McCain-Gramm approach of make the rich super rich and middle class jobless is still in place. Don't be fooled by the last minute nasty stuff. It is still Bush-Cheney, McCain-Gramm who cost you your job, your retirment and your health care. We need a president who cares for the Middle Class. That is Barack Obama.

I'm glad I have made a lot of money over the years and saved it so I won't fall dependent on government. That's what Obama wants - the middle class to be the new POOR.

Now that that the weak kneed sissy stephanopoulos and the rest of the disgusting media have tilted the election to obama I cant wait till obama makes his first major mistake, say by this friday, and then the abc, cbs, mcsnbc boys will have to tar and feather the community organizer that they helped get elected President.

Obama doesn't even care about his brother living in proverty and an Aunt and a Mother that he rarely sees. But he wrote abut all of them in a book along with Rev Wright the man that was his inspiration.
You think he cares about the people!!!!
NO

Wake up people! In The a recently popularized tape, Obama talks about bankrupting the coal industry. The main thrust of his comments are substantial on their own, but I would like to draw your attention to a side note. He rightly mentions that his plans would generate high costs to the energy producing companies and that these companies would naturally pass these costs on to the consumers, dramatically increasing energy costs. Absolutely correct! How is this same man able to convince so many that he is going to cut their taxes and make the corporate world pay big instead of us? The "rich companies" will of course pass on any increased tax burden to the consumers. You are not getting out of any taxes here, they are only being hidden in your goods and services instead of being directly deducted from your paycheck.

Only 20% of votes have been cast.
That means 80% are left.
Now we know why Obama wanted everyone to vote early.
What else is he hiding?
Posted by: Jane | Nov 3, 2008 9:11:24 AM
So today we hear Obama tell the people involved in coal production that he intends to bankrupt any power producer wanting to build a new coal plant. it is clear that he intends to kill the coal industry. Are you people in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania listening?

** Did you ever think they don't want help? I'm sure if they did they would ask.. and who are you to judge? you take care of all your family members? probably not~ The person who doesn't care about Americans is McCain because if he did, he would have changed his tax plan to help the middle class.. not businesses who make record profits every quarter... you better open your eyes!

I agree that five of these six States could fall either way. However, Pennsylvania will go for Obama - that much is a certainty. Anyone who thinks Pennsylvania is a swing State has not spent time there and does not understand the sulture in the State. Many, many people in Pennsylvania are doves, and even if they lean Republican, they will not vote for McCain: his support of the Iraqi war will not be palatable to them.

** Iraq is nothing but another Vietnam.. thats why John McCain is so obessed w/ winning there.. but why are we still there when Osama Bin Laden is in Afghanistan and Pakistan? what sense does it make to spend 10 billion in a country a month when they enjoy a surplus? is that in the best interest of America? No, not really when we don't have enough money to take care of issues at home. These war hungry people need to think of diplomacy, not forcing other nations to be like us. They don't want to be America so why force them?

During the election some have chosen to focus on this ephemeral called experience. Some have a static view of leadership that is rooted in the past. That is indeed of some value but only to the extent that it can meaningfully adjust to the dynamism of the present moment. Lessons from the past presidents Cliton and Bush jr. demonstrate this value. Clinton was dynamic Bush was static and the disaster in America is evidence of this fact. Now to McCain and Obama. McCain the experience candidate is stuck in the past... Obama the dynamic candidate is ably suited to engage the dynamic environment in which we find ourselves, as evidenced in the execution of his campaign and the handling of the economic crisis. Leadership is not about experience as it is about to the leader relates to people and not solely to the static elements of war, and material things.

Yeah Jane,
I'll tell you what Obama has done. He beat the Clintons, something the Republican's couldn't do. He's put together one of the most effective and ingenious political campaigns in history. He's leading going into the last day before the election. It takes someone with vision and insight to do that. It takes someone who has the skills to manage this country going forward to do that.
Thats what he's done. As for the Republican ops whose job it is to post on all the blogs to create doubt and fear..... hasn't worked so far, at least not enough to turn it around for McCain. It's harder work for you guys now since you have to actually enter the code to post instead of doing the automated posting.
You guys need to be scared....very scared. Remove all firearms and sharp objects from your homes. Don't want to see you do harm to yourselves when you realize Wednesday morning that you have a Democratic president in the White House.

Get used to it Tom, and others....
President Hussein Obama!
GoO and GoObama....................
and Jane, I don't know where you have been, but voting in 30 states has been underway for about a month..... it's called early voting.
With a Republican in the white house the USA as lost 760,000 jobs this year...folks, we can only go up....
With a Republican in the white house, my 401k is almost worthless....
With a republican in the white house, 4,190 dead Americans in Iraq...
With a republican in the white house, the worse attack on the country since the revolution...
With a republican in the white house, the economy tanking and the biggest bailout of republican "greedsters" in the history of this country...
Tom, you republicans have placed this country in a position where we can only go up. we are at the bottom of the barrel.
my prediction 354 EVs.....
Have a good day Republicans...
GO O....................

I tell you that the real conservatives in this country should endorse (quietly) Obama's campaign because he was raised through age 30 under 10 years of Kennedy/Johnson/Carter but 20 of Nixon/Ford/Reagan policies.
1. This shows that he prospered under relatively conservative policies.
2. He is the fruit of the "color blind" policies that were being pushed.
3. If elected, a lot the rationale for affirmative action and similar race-based quotas goes away because the system did work. He saw his opportunities and took them.
4. If he were a little more conservative (maybe a lot more), he would be the poster child of those folks.

Tom Barringer...... Michelle Obama was writting the truth. And as far as you saying whites paid for her scholarship, so did her parents and black tax payers. We Africans deserve the same treatment as White Americans, after all we built this country on our sweat and BLOOD, no pay, slavery, and we are still not recongized for that. I Love America the same as any White American but I still see the racism even though it has gotten so much better but it is still very much alive. I understand where Michelle is coming from because I live in a mostly white neighborhood and my 4 children attend a mostly white schoool and I have had to get their teachers to change grades that were lower than they had recieved, this is the reason I keep their graded papers until report cards are releashed. I want my black children to have the same opportunities as the white children. I pray that one day I will not have to do this but until then I will push my children,( who 3 out of 4 are honor roll and 1 straight A honor roll), to be the best that they can and obey the law and the rules of society.

U tube viewers? That's silly. It comes down to the major issues of the election and that is the economy. You don't hear McCain talking about it much. He has no chance.

Hey ABC! Where's the story about Obama's statement about bankrupting the coal industry. I am sure coal producing states would like to see this information. If coal miners vote for Obama, start looking for another job.

Its so refreshing that a candidate is going to win on the Issues!!! Obama will be a great president if elected. Fear brought George Bush and look what happened, I just cannot imagine how people are not concerned that within 2 years if John McCain is elected then Palin becomes President. Now that's a national security concern
Karl Rovian politics is dead. Obama is willing to increase his taxes under his plan, while McCain is willing to receive more tax cuts, which he cannot pay for his and Cindy's company. Who's really for the middle class. The economy will grow from the bottom up, because it bottomed out from the trickle down economics.

Steve in NJ remember yor comment when if Obama gets it he hands us over to the euro trash and opens our markets for his pals in the mideast. Ayers will have an open border to find a target another building to bomb. Obama will protect him

Barack means blessed.. and nothing these haters out here can tear Obama away from God even though they try. They will try anything to win; the reason why McCain sold his soul to the RNC aka the devil-- to win the nomination of his party.
But God has a plan and if his plan is to make Barack Obama the President of this great nation, then it will be done. Not even Republicans can change the will of God!

I am a white woman in my 60’s from Indiana.
I am registered as a Democrat but I believe I would be more aptly described as an Independent. I have never voted for the party but have always voted for the candidate and their stance on the major issues. I have voted in every election since I was first eligible. Never in all those elections was I as passionate as I am about this election.
I first saw Barack Obama on TV during the 2004 democratic convention and admired the wonderful speech he gave. My knowledge of John McCain was limited to his time as a Prisoner of War so I didn’t know much about him and his policies.
After the presidential primary, I have read everything imaginable about Barack Obama and John McCain so I have definitely done my research.
I was leaning toward voting for Barack Obama but was still unsure until several things swayed me totally away from John McCain:
When John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential candidate, I was totally astounded that he would pick a total unknown after meeting her for 15 minutes and I was thoroughly insulted that McCain thought by picking Sarah that he would appeal to the women voters. I was angry that he thought women voters would vote for Sarah because of her gender and that he thought that women voters didn’t have the sense to sort through and vote for the issues. I was even angrier the more I listened to Sarah Palin and knew that she was not ready for, prepared for or intelligent enough for the Vice Presidency.
I was originally impressed that John McCain said he would run a clean campaign. Then shortly after picking Sarah Palin, he (and Sarah) started in with the personal attacks on Barack Obama. It was very disheartening hearing all the things he was throwing at Barack Obama when people really only wanted to hear what he thought on the issues. It was Karl Rove campaign tactics at their best.
I have been absolutely impressed that Barack Obama has run a campaign free of personal attacks on John McCain and has run his campaign with knowledge, wisdom, honesty and integrity when he had so many things he could have brought up about John McCain and Sarah Palin. Has has attacked John McCain on the issues but he has continued to campaign and lay out his plans for the presidency while John McCain and Sarah Palin have continued on their campaign to personally attack Barack Obama while skirting around the issues.
I have heard all of the personal attacks John McCain has thrown at Barack Obama mostly concerning people he had associated with in the past but also attacks were made about Obama’s faith and religion. As these attacks continued day after day, I read more about John McCain, I found out that he had been chasing Cindy McCain while still married to his first wife who had been seriously injured and crippled in an auto accident.
I read about his involvement and friendship with G. Gordon Liddy who was imprisoned for his part in the Watergate burglary. That’s just one element of what Liddy did, and proposed to do, in a secret White House effort to subvert the Constitution. When asked about his connection to G. Gordon Liddy in an interview the other day, John McCain said “yes, I’ve met him”. When pressed, he admitted that “yes, he did know him”. In fact, in 1998 Liddy’s home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, Liddy has made many contributions to the Senator’s campaigns. Last November when McCain was on Liddy’s radio show, Liddy greated John as “an old friend” and McCain said to Liddy: “I’m proud of you, I’m proud of your family. It’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great”.
I also read about John McCain’s part in the Keating 5 Savings and Loan scandal that cost taxpayers $2.6 billion. McCain was found guilty by the Senate Ethics Committee of using “poor judgement” for attending meetings with regulators on Keating’s behalf.
Carl Lindner, Chairman of American Financial Group and former chairman of Chiquita International, made his fortune from the savings and loan industry and junk bonds. In 2008. Lindner raised over $2 million for McCain’s Presidential campaign. Lindner also serves on McCain’s Ohio Victory Team. Carl Lindner was recently implicated in a scandal where he oversaw the payment by Chiquita and its executives of roughly $1.7 million to a Columbian paramilitary group that was designated a terrorist organization. Chiquita made similar payments to the leftist FARC and ELN guerillas during Lindner’s oversight.
The Republican National Committee spent over $150,000 in the month of September on clothing, hair cuts and makeup for Sarah Palin. And she didn’t spend that money at Walmart, JC Penney, Goody’s or Kohl’s. No, she spent it at Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th Avenue. Does this not even bother you a bit when people have lost jobs, lost their 401K’s, seniors have lost money, people have no insurance? For her to spend $150,000 is a slap in the face to all Americans who are hurting right now.
The investigation by the Alaskan Legislature just found Sarah Palin guilty of abuse of power and ethics violation. Then Sarah Palin went on national TV saying that they had found her not guilty.
It has just been reported that Sarah Palin has been taking her children on official business trips and Alaskan citizens have picked up the tab for separate hotel rooms for the kids.
Barack Obama had every right to retaliate against the unfair treatment by John McCain and Sarah Palin but never once did he bring up any of these things or personally attack either John McCain or Sarah Palin..
Have you or anyone in your family lost a job lately? I live in a small town in Indiana where we have lost thousands of jobs to the housing slow-down but mostly to jobs being sent to foreign countries. My daughter lost her high-paying job due to the housing slow-down. I have several relatives who have lost their manufacturing jobs to foreign countries; however, John McCain has always supported and continues to supports giving tax cuts to those companies who send jobs overseas. Barack Obama wants to take those tax cuts away and give them to companies who keep jobs in the United States. We NEED those jobs here in the US.
John McCain has long been a supporter of no regulatory oversight of the financial industry and what happens? Financial meltdown. How much did your 401K lose? Has anyone lost their job due to this meltdown? If not, they may soon. I know many people in our area who have worked hard all their lives and have not only lost thousands of dollars in their savings and 401K’s but have also lost their jobs. Jobs losses will continue.
I just saw an ad this morning where John McCain says that Barack Obama’s tax policies won’t work in this economy. I believe that John McCain’s refusal to regulate the financial industry has not worked and, in fact, caused the financial meltdown.
John McCain & Sarah Palin say Barack OBama has no experience. John McCain has had 26 years of experience in the Senate but obviously he has not done much for the lower or middle class. Barack Obama doesn’t need the experience. He has a fresh outlook not the one that John McCain has had for 26 years. Barack Obama will use his common sense when John McCain would fall back on the Republican ideology.
I am now firmly behind Barack Obama. While John McCain and Sarah Palin have continued attacking Barack Obama, I have been listening to Barack Obama’s speeches about his views, his stance on the issues, what he belives in and what he will do if elected. How refreshing to hear Barack Obama’s speeches instead of the mud John McCain and Sarah Palin are slinging. That is why I am so passionate about Barack Obama’s campaign. I hope you will share my passion and VOTE OBAMA.

This is confusing. According to the Electoral Map ABC posted, if all the 'blue states' stay blue except for PA and McCain gains Ohio, Obama could still win if he wins North Carolina and Florida.
I read that Obama have more paths to 270 than McCain, who must win *all* the swing states in order to get to 270 even if he looses PA. So what gives with these numbers you posted, George? They make no sense in light of the so-called 'Electoral Map' ABC has now.

Tom Barranger,
Take your racist distortions somewhere else, everyone sees through your partisan fearmongering!

At least we know what we are getting if Obama wins so no complaining from those that voted for him as he drives the country over the cliff.
Posted by: Tim | Nov 3, 2008 9:19:50 AM
* President Bush already drove us off the cliff... Obama will pull us out! Are you living in the same country as I am? and you were probably one of those people voting for Bush.. thanks a lot for nothing!

VA: You are absolutely spot on. These people, pretending to be Hillary voters who have switched to GOP? Hillary has DEM in her DNA - her supporters do not only like her, they admire her values. Hers are not the gutter politics of GOP as debased by McCain-Palin. Never have been and never will be. Obama-Biden 08.

GOP trolls are out in numbers. I voted 2 weeks ago in Indiana. Worked the phones for Obama, he's leading in Indiana, our calls have him up by 5 points.
All you McSame's gonna get together and brew up some Jim Jones kool aid on Wednesday?

Yes Tom, My daughter said they had a mock election at her school near Indianapolis and Obama won by a huge margin. I can't remembe the tally exactly but it was something like 425-187.

please bankrupt coal. It's the world's biggest polluter. The entire industry employs about 100,000 in the country. Those jobs could be made up in the development of cleaner, sustainable energy sources. What good is it if it's not sustainable? This argument is just one more shallow attempt at gaining ground in the polls. Too little, too late.

It's time for Palin to come up with her Medical Records.

Don't you love the audio of the woman leaving the obama rally last week. In her own words: "I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. If I help him, he's gonna help me." Folks, that's the direction we're heading and to all of you "middle class" lemmings out there, you better think long and hard about what you're voting for.

All the wingnuts that are submitting big comments better get over it now. You only have one day left to use the written forum. Then you can go back to your caves. It is over. Get over it. I voted last week, am watching the web and news today and will watch the victory dance tomorrow night. Obama/Biden by a huge majority!

Sam- Sam I see the same thing I could never get behind obama due to the lies he has told and lived. BUt what upsets me even more is the news media has done nothing to investigate his back ground. If Palin had a aunt living in the country illegally, you can bet they would have raked her over the coal and called her every name in the book, obama gets a pass. If McCain had said he was going to spread the wealth he would had to withdraw from the ticket, obama gets a pass. If McCain's campaing didn't have a accurate record of all his donations and the other issues with obama's fund raising, McCain would be in big trouble, obama gets a pass. Looks like obama has gotten a pass all his life, failed out of one college from what I understand but was still able to get into Harvard. Funny isn't it that he gets a pass and may get the office of President. He will hold the office but most in America will not consider him a president just a fake holding the office until we can impeach him or vote him out in 2012

mudge007- great post, I hope all the people in the coal states are reading it. I am glad you agree with Obama on this.Of course taking a person who has spent their life in coal and trying to re-employ them in a wind farm or nuclear plant will never happen, but I am sure once the voters have cast their vote for Obama, you don't really care.
Posted by: brian | Nov 3, 2008 9:39:00 AM
Despite all the clever tactics to align McCain with Bush, Obama is much closer to the ideologies of the Bush machine. Let's look at some of the similaries: Obama is obviously the most well-funded, based on his second grand extravaganza; first at the Greek Coloseum and now at the Oval Office. Obama seeks to empower himself, via the government, to make all kinds of decisions about your life (your healthcare, what you should spread to others, when you should vote..) This is another ultra-paternalistic ideology that is not any different than Bush's unilateralism on the global scale. Bush fought with other countries, but Obama is at war with basic American institutions. Under his leadership, Christians will be more persecuted, backed by GOVERNMENT ON STEROIDS. MAKE NO MISTAKE; OBAMA IS THE NEW BUSH OF THE LEFT

*sniff* *sniff* I can smell the last minute Republican desperation in the air, and it smells like...victory!
Posted by: Blindhowlin | Nov 3, 2008 9:39:28 AM
Chester Burns: I know it~ the GOP has already forgotten we are voting early and have an advantage 2:1 right now... it's just one of those tactics that hasn't worked too well for McCain.. if they were smart enough they would come up w/ a message that people can trust
Maybe like "Change we can believe in" but Obama's already taken that. They don't understand the need of this nation right now and they will sit on the sidelines and cry their eyes out tomorrow.. but it's okay because if they are true Americans, they will pick themselves up, stop crying like babies, and do their duty as citizens of this nation.
