McCain: I Want to Work With Obama
December 14, 2008 9:32 AM
When I asked Sen. John McCain today if he still believes his criticism voiced repeatedly during the campaign that Barack Obama "isn't ready" to be commander in chief, he said this:
"It's not a matter of whether he is ready," McCain said, "he has been selected by the American people."
Of his campaign remark that the nation will be tested, McCain laughed, "I said that because his running mate said that!"
McCain said he wants to work with President-Elect Obama on the international dangers facing the nation.
"The President of the United States has been selected and now it's time for us all to join behind him and help however we can," McCain said. "These are challenging times."

Why has nobody mentioned (unless I'm missing it...) that Mitt Romeny would be a terrific choice for the "car czar?" I'm a registered MA independent who tends to vote Democratic, and I find his pandering to the far right when running for president, vs. his positions taken when running for MA gov., reason enough to not have taken him seriously as a presidential candidate. However, I think he's uniquely qualified to help America fix this problem, would be somebody both Obama and Bush could agree on pre-inauguration, and would further underscore the points John McCain and Barak Obama have made about working together across party lines to fix the BIG problems facing the USA in these challening times. Am I being a pollyanna?

John McCain can do a great work if he works for the American people to see we are going the wrong way. He has lived long enough to recognize we are causing more problems than we are solving.
The challenges for both parties are extremely difficult and have no solutions in the direction that Barack Obama is continuing. We chose a great works program in the great depression and that way of solving things has caused the world problems our prosperity has created. We pushed for great work programs and we are in bondage to a lifestyle of employment and expensive and lengthy education requirements to get it. It has caused more inequality and poverty and increased the cost of just about everything.
A solution is available by turning to a retirement lifestyle, creating a garden paradise with trees, plants and animals that provide food in our community. In our pride we have looked down upon sheep, goats, cows, chickens etc. and have despised what would have given us true freedom and independence.
The garden paradise retirement lifestyle is the only solution to end pollution, global warming, war, energy crisis, reoccurring financial crises, food crisis, immigration, disease and high health care expenses, social security insufficiencies, poverty and inequality. Those world problems can be solved in any nation. It is fair and sustainable; something the employment lifestyle is not.

Hey Jim McKeever~ good MA hometown insights on Mitt Romney. President-Elect Obama is very open to hearing your idea on a "Car Czar". To share it with him, go to:

As for John McCain, I think he'd be a real asset in the Obama Admininistration (aka "Dream Team"). There he could stay true to himself, unlike on his own campaign, and do some real, bi-partisan good.
