Ten Things David Gregory Needs to Know
December 07, 2008 10:00 AM
10.) Monday night is the new Saturday
9.) Saturday Night Live is a pretty cool wake-up call
8.) Dennis Kucinich is a biter
7.) You'll never have to anchor another car chase -- ever
6.) No more OJ stories either
5.) Remember to wink at the camera when you say "stimulus package"
4.) Never let Chuck Todd drive you to work
3.) Don't sit Doris Kearns Goodwin next to David Broder. Long story
2.) Rapping with Karl Rove is a guaranteed bump during sweeps
1.) Most important, don't forget we move our clocks back next Sunday.
Seriously, David, you're about to get one of the best jobs in journalism.
Good luck (but not too much).

Hey George! You forgot one tip.
Sean Hannity is a great source for talking points when you get your Obama interview!
Posted by: Bunker | Dec 7, 2008 8:33:17 PM
steve, your comments would be more noteworthy if you even understood what was the legal question tomorrow. there is no doubt obama was born in the US, the question being raised is related to his father's status and how that affects obama's status. nothing to do with his birth certificate.
you will see the supreme court extricate itself from this nonsense soon enough.
Posted by: MIguy | Dec 7, 2008 10:37:06 PM
It must really suck to be such a bigot. You 2 are disgusting!
Posted by: Vero | Dec 7, 2008 10:40:28 PM
Even when the supreme court shuts your idiocy the hell up, you still won't be satisfied. But that will be your just desserts so you can feel half the animosity about this decison as we felt about the SELECTION 2000.
Posted by: Hopeful Patriot | Dec 8, 2008 2:42:44 AM
Gregory must know where the bodies are buried in order to have landed this position. If they were going to get a GOP shill, they could have atleast gotten a good one!
Posted by: Hopeful Patriot | Dec 8, 2008 2:45:17 AM
Go Dave Go. People were saying Tim sucked when he first took the job. Loooooosers.
Posted by: wyatt | Dec 8, 2008 3:07:35 AM
LOL...obviouusly a great choice, when you hear all these liberals whining & complaining!
Maybe you would have prefered Chris "Leg Twitch" Matthews or Keith "It's MY Constitution" Olbermann?
Honestly, It's an "interviewer" job and most all of the 'interviewees" wont even come on these shows without pre-conditions.
Personally, I would love to see someone grill Barney Frank. That slob has more to with our current mess than anyone else currently serving in Congress. We all want some accountablility, but its going to be real hard to get it from lifetime politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle whose personal stake in things does not want to be accounted for.

Back in the day when there were real journalists and MTP had a panel format, I watched MTP far more faithfully than I attended church. Then it became one man's ego trip, and I haven't watched it since.
Posted by: Bytheway | Dec 8, 2008 9:59:59 AM
When Tim Russert hosted MTP I watched it every Sunday without fail. He did an amazing job and I can think of NO ONE who will truly be able to fill his sizeable, shiny shoes. What a loss!
Posted by: liberaldem | Dec 8, 2008 10:36:22 AM
Gregory has a tough act to follow? What are you talking about. Russert was a pompous windbag. His only lasting legacy is that he landed his son a job he didn't deserve....
Posted by: Reynoldo Gort | Dec 8, 2008 10:37:17 AM
Hey Reynoldo...Obviously you have no idea what you are spouting off about. Sounds to me like YOU are the pompous windbag.........however...since Tom Brokaw couldn't fill Tim Russert's shoes and since David Gregory can't even fill Tom Brokaw's shoes...it looks like it's all a moot point anyway.
Posted by: liberaldem | Dec 8, 2008 10:46:02 AM
I suppose anything would be an improvement over tired Tom Brokaw.
Unfortunately, Gregory is too biased towards the Right...I don't see him being fair.
Im going to wake up later on Sundays and watch John King as the new host of the late talk show on CNN
Posted by: Marty | Dec 8, 2008 10:57:29 AM
Steve, you're an imbecile. You're out of your league.
And Mike C. - doesn't take a liberal to be wary of David Gregory. Glad to see YOU'RE able to laugh about things, though. Jerk.
Posted by: Ingrid | Dec 8, 2008 11:02:32 AM
Not a fan of David Gregory. I find him shallow and boring.
Hey George, on second thought, maybe Gregory should let Todd drive him and then we'd end up a good host for TPM...
Posted by: vwcat | Dec 8, 2008 11:04:21 AM
someone needs to get Steve his meds. He has obviously not taken them yet.
Posted by: vwcat | Dec 8, 2008 11:08:39 AM
It is so saddening our society has become so rude and vulgar. These postings are deplorable, and not to mention ungrammatical. What is needed now in these difficult times is more respect and kindness to others. What happened to living and practicing the Golden Rule? What happened to “do unto others”? I sincerely wish Mr. Gregory all the best.
Posted by: tesserae | Dec 8, 2008 11:38:15 AM
LOL....well, if I am jerk,...so be it. I have certainly been called worse.
NBC is dying on the vine, as are all the OLD 3 networks. Their ratings are down, their news reporting is a joke!
This past election has shown how biased they were. With Chris matthew, Keith Olbermann & Browkaw! Seriously check out Tom Brokaw's incredibly foolish admitance that "We Don't know Obama or What he will do" on 10-30-08 on his appearance with Charlie Rose on PBS.
Hmm....Hey Tom, you idiots only had ALL year to "vett" this guy out. Now, 4 days from the election, on a show virtually no one in America watches, he decides its time to spill the beans about how we dont him!!!!
BRILLIANT!!!!!
LOL...and you people think the Gregory is even an issue to be discussed...LOL
Remember Star Trek:The Wrath Of Khan?
"You've managed to kill just about everyone else, but like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target"
Posted by: Mike_C | Dec 8, 2008 11:47:12 AM
Only posting this to see if they will let any gibberish in this blog.
Posted by: jfire | Dec 8, 2008 11:51:46 AM
Tim Russert was the man - GREATEST. Brokaw was lacking in research.
David Gregory i don't like on 1600PA
You get 2 weeks to step it up on MTP (remove your bias we naver saw from Tim)
Posted by: watching | Dec 8, 2008 12:08:01 PM
Steve you are pathetic! get over it and yourself, Obama for at least four years and quite possibly 8! What rock have you been under? the birth cetificate was released and authenticated, college and law school transcripts released. All of this ratified by millions of people who voted for OBAMA!
Posted by: hwd | Dec 8, 2008 12:23:40 PM
DG is a poor choice when there are so many other choices. At least it isn't Russert Jr. I like Andrea M for one. I couldn't watch his Road to the white house and will soon become board with MTP with him as host. Very disappointing as I am a long time MTP watcher. My new fix will be George S. I like his panel as well.
Posted by: Frank | Dec 8, 2008 12:40:30 PM
I like David Gregory. I don't think he is rude. He just wants the truth. Just trim your hair David. :) You are a handsome guy.
Posted by: Beth Cornell | Dec 8, 2008 12:45:21 PM
Katie Couric would have been better !
Posted by: philosopherkingtomas | Dec 8, 2008 12:50:24 PM
David Gregory once looked like he might turn out to have some level of integrity. Not so, and he has revealed himself to be one of the more behind-kissing, opportunistic weasels in show biz, I mean political journalism (hah). The people posting above who have called him shallow, lightweight, etc. are right.
Posted by: mooseriffic | Dec 8, 2008 1:11:03 PM
Keith "bathtub boy" (google it), is pissed right now i bet. he wanted that job..toooooo bad keithie. I am still watching ABC. No "meet the depressed" for me
