Roundtable: Palin Proves 'Feisty' Against Letterman

The Palin "flap" is just that: a flap. It means nothing. She would love for folks like you to keep the thing going, because she would like to energize her "base" by riling them against the hated NY media. Please.
Letterman was wrong, but not nearly wrong enough for Palin to continue this. Brownstein was right. She needs to have something substantive to say about the many problems Americans face today. Instead, she finds something to be "victimized" about and pounds it into the pavement. She remains "unready for prime time." Please
stop talking about her. Even thoughtful Republicans find her an eembarrassment.

I could not believe my ears this morning watching this totally biased group excusing the totally inappropriate remarks of Letterman and again blaming Palin for reacting! How dare any of you that most likely have children; grandchildren etc., look on this as a Palin "grandstanding"! Now picture this - Letterman makes the same crude; offensive and disgusting remarks about one of the Obama or Biden females. Letterman on CBS would be a thing of the past faster than the speed of light. Also Letterman's calling Sarah Palin a "slut" is beneath contempt. I will never watch you George ever again. I used to have some modicum of respect for you - but no more. You are all just as guilty as Letterman by your condoning such conduct all in the name of "good fun". You women on the panel I am the most disgusted with - have you no sense of decency or compassion? Shame! Shame! Shame!

On todays Roundtable(George Stephanopolis) George had three anti-public health care, and one pro.George usually has a balanced panel of discussion. Why not on this very important issue was it not balanced? George, are you anti-public health care option?

These people on the panel (expect Brazil)live in TV land where everything is just fine. Truth is small business is being crushed by the costs of health care. Over 50% of bankruptcies are health care related. In the republican world business is before the people always. This would be why republicans are losing elections. George Will is a fool and just like most corporatist republicans laughs in the face of hardworking Americans struggling to get by everyday.

As usual George Will longs for the ‘Golden Age of America’, you know the ‘Gilded Age.’ The country run by and for a tiny oligarchy of the extremely wealthy. No progressive income tax, in fact no income tax at all. No Social Security system or Medicare. No unions or worker protections. No environmental regulations.

I forgot to add that this was really some debate concerning health care reform wasn’t it? One lukewarm advocate of a public plan, and three adamantly opposed?

Sarah "SixPack" Palin is just plain scary. We are fortunate not to have her a "heart-beat from the Presidency. If Palin's the future of the Republican Party, then the GOP is in big trouble.

Meg Whitman ex-eBay CEO & Carly Fiorina ex HP CEO both endorsed Sarah SixPack, both are running 4 office in Calif, Gov & Senator. I'm sure they thought to themselves, Sarah Palin is not too bright, so "why don't we run for office too?"

But both Whitman and Fiorina, these intelligent woman were dumb enough to be Lemmings & endorse Sarah Palin, how can we respect their judgement and vote for them into office in California?

I'm sorry, but the Republican Party needs to do more than Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh.

What a disgrace for any Politician to openly accused someone of exciting rape of a minor icing the cake by telling viewers that person is a "pervert". This is pretty strong. Why in the name God would David Letterman a man in his position and power with the public. Ever do that to himself. Sure he was referring to the wrong person the center of his joke? But, he did clarify his comment and stated he was sorry. I think if that happened to a member of my family. I would have called Mr. letterman and request a clarification about his joke. Then and only then, if un-happy with the answer, I would say something publicly.
This seems like Gov. Palin wants to keep things going in order to soak up free publicity. All people in the public the public eye gets blasted by the comics. You must have a tough skin and put your sensitivity in your back pocket. This is a shame the Governor is blowing this up at the expense of her family. Let it go.

If every Working Politician held a press conference for the jokes made against them, Really Nothing would get done. Palin, get over yourself. Next time, don't parade your offspring during your elections, particularly the one prego out of wedlock. Maybe people wouldn't get such a kick out of shooting holes in your "program".

One has to watch the NBC Palin/Lauer interview to get the real picture, as virtually all of the "reports" about it out there are typically slanted. Lauer shot questions with barley concealed contempt, and at a speed designed to trip her up. The Governor stood her ground and shot right back at him, and in the end she owned the both Lauer and the interview. It was abundantly clear that Lauer was not pleased with the result. Clearly Mr Palin has resolved not to be blind sided by another Katy Couric type attack.
Those that pretend she is some sort of unread bimbo, or a "Sarah Six Pack" type bumpkin, are in for a very rude awakening. The Governor has an incredibly sharp and agile mind behind that photogenic face. The Obama worshiping media knows it and is working overtime to characterize her as an idiot before the public figures this out. After the wreckage of four years of Obama tyranny, she will be exactly what America will need to restore the Nation...

Oh, is that what it’s called now feistiness? I call it lying. Palin didn’t have any problem attacking 18-year-old Levi Johnston. Isn’t he somebody’s teenage child? Sarah claims she cares about rape victims but she made the women in her home state pay for their own rape kits. All Sarah wanted was another opportunity to attack President Obama and she took it calling him “He who must be obeyed” and saying he said children should be off limits. He was defending her children at the time, which Sarah conveniently forgot to mention. Now her rabbit followers are dragging Obama’s daughters into this mess when they know the president had nothing to do with what happened. I remember that Rush Limbaugh called Chelsea Clinton the “Family DOG” and I didn’t hear a lot of outrage from the right about that. Sarah is an attack dog by her own admission and she uses her kids as if they are chess pieces in her political games. Sarah is not feisty she is a disgusting example of motherhood.

If this weren't Palin, if this were the child of a Democratic politician, the outrage would have been swift and severe and the parent wouldn't have even needed to respond.

What happened to the children of politicians being "off limits"?

To the GOP:

If you hate Obama so much, then don't put Palin in front.

If you do, you will lose by a huge margin and make yourself look even sillier.

Palin is not anyone to take seriously in politics or any other medium.

Was what Letterman said wrong? Yeps pretty much. Did Palin read way too much into it and grossly overreact? Yes to that as well. If she overreacts to this degree at something a comedian says what is she gonna do in a position of real power that can involve a great deal of sensitive discussion like the President or Vice President. It seems she has tried to use this joke in bad taste to make herself a martyr, a role she has repeatedly used during the campaign and even while running for Governor. It is a role she assumes at the slightest hint that she is at a disadvantage, and one that would never serve her on an international scale.

Please, people, lighten up a little. ! There is so much to talk about these days , and we are concentrating on a joke ?

I must be out of step. How did this become an offense to the Palin's? If you look at what was said, it was Alex R. and professional sportsmen who were accused of "knocking up" young girls! Sports fans,... where's the outrage?!!

Palin attacked the 18 year old who fathered her grandchild after he told the truth about staying with her daughter in her home. You are a JOKE.

Letterman is a jerk and should appologize publicly instead of claiming he was trying to insult the older daughter. Lets see the outrage if he insults the Obama girls.

for two weeks I have been unable to find This Week with G.S. on T.V. The cable schedule shows the usual spot an info mercial and not the program. At a completely different time I get part of it recorded but it is very frustrating.

The cable co. blames ABC but how can I find the full transcript of the 7th and 14th????

Everyone should buy into what the liberal media Leviathan is spitting out. Together we can further bankrupt America, continue to make jabs at the daughter of the of a former vice presidential candidate, read our Perez Hilton and censor and make lewd remarks about a beauty pageant contestant who dared speak her mind, be racist against everyone who isn't black, show our intolerance for Mormons, be sexist, and live an empty meaningless existence while having a good laugh making fun of everyone who doesn't agree with us and making up vapid stories of people in Hollywood while the economy continues to crumble, America's power wanes, and our soldiers continue to die in Iraq and Afghanistan (funny how the media doesn't report on this anymore).
