GOP Senators to Use 'Obama Reasoning' Against Sotomayor
July 15, 2009 8:21 AM
Judge Sonia Sotomayor stuck to her script and avoided Sen. Lindsey Graham's "meltdown" Tuesday.
GOP Senators did what they had to do too: persistent questioning that laid predicate for opposing Sotomayor without appearing to be mean-spirited.
And while Sotomayor didn't hesitate to toss aside President Obama's definition of what makes an ideal justice, watch for GOP Senators who vote no to invoke the standard Obama set with Roberts and Alito.
Watch my chat with ABC's Robin Roberts on GMA:

In light of the rather shocking decision of the U.S. military to revoke the deployment orders of Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, rather than offer proof of his Commander in Chiefs "eligibility", will one on the Senators questioning this, most likely future Supreme Court Justice ask her about her adherence and interpretation of Article I Section II of the U.S. Constitution. Does the nominee feel that an election, even without disclosure of potential said in- eligibility (fraud) trumps the Constitution?

Very, very provocative article below about Sotomayor's controversial judicial philosophy and the "Wise Latina" comment. A must read considering the incessant line of questioning by Republican senators!

Careful George, try to be more subtle that you're still a democrat pretending to be a fair journalist. I prefer when the bias is less blatant. There's a reason no one watches MSNBC anymore you know. Most of us are center/independent, so you should sound like a journalist and not your party's spokesperson, esp on GMA which is a good show.

Watching and listening to this woman, I get the impression that she has a truly obnoxious personality. Bet the other Justices can't wait for her join them !

Sen. Lindsey Graham Dont know right from wrong either the people in SC think he is just a puppet for the GOP!
Sen. Graham is Just another mouthpiece that has no where to go!
He's done nothing for the people of SC.

Oh, Sheryl...I guess you "center idependents" don't watch fox news either!! I am a proud Democrat, and incidently, there is bias in every broadcast news story we see. No one should be foolish enough to believe they can get reliable information anywhere on television these days.

Sorry Sheryl...My comments above were for Sharonl.

The President's reasoning is theright reasoning and Judge needs to have compassio and empaty to be able to make sound judgement othewise robots will soon take over the Supreme Court! That is different from Judges making decisions based on their feelings!Empathy increases ability to judge justly!

Judge Sotomayor is a good judge with her own unresolved issues she has not yet come to peace with! Writing that objectivity does not exist or matter impartiality does not exist and empthy does not matter and then talking about being objective and impartial and yet still not empathic since only preisents are empathic tells me she is following someone whom she does not know yet or trying to make the old Republicans happy giving up her own identity! If a judge eash time compromises her identity for making others happy then what will we have in the end of the day! Judge you need to step up and tell it like it is and let others make their own decisions about you not feel they are being manipulated and played with!

pauldia - Why should they offer proof when it's been proven many times over! This man volunteered then changed his mind, that is what his motivation was. He lost his job because he worked for a company the contracted with the Pentagon. Why would he have continued at that job, it he truly believed these charges? Question, why do you go from post to post, saying the same thing that has been debunked numerous times? Because you repeat it, doesn't make it fact!

Obama is the biggest hypocrite in American political history.
I utterly enjoyed watching his own words invoked from the confirmation hearings for Roberts and Alito.
America...it was the Democrats who started the sport of making the selection of the SC justices so political. It all started with Bork and what was done to him was disgraceful. What was done to Justice Thomas was even more disgraceful. That Democrats are whining about the very light grilling of Sotomayor over her OWN WORDS and biased rulings is a joke.
George, you should at least pretend not to be liberal Democrat. Tim Russert pulled it off for years and was beloved by conservatives and liberals. As of yet...your'e no Tim Russert. Maybe you will never be. Maybe your real goal isn't to be journalist but rather to be a propagandist.

17 years of experience on the bench and all they care about is a speech and the president's reasoning.

The republicans would be against anyone. Their only concern seems to be their party, not the country as a whole.
"Ron" says he's come to the conclusion that she is an obnoxious person..when did you meet her and speak to her, Ron?
