Health Care: Long Slog Ahead

The President said today that in the “best-case scenario,” a health care reform bill will not get voted on or signed until mid-fall. But key negotiators on both the House and Senate sides told me today that I shouldn't be surprised if the deal didn't get this settled until Christmas. There was some progress on the House side where a deal was struck with the seven moderate Blue Dog Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
