White House: No 'Precooked' Apologies at Brew Fest
Tonight's the night. Gates, Crowley and the president crack their brews somewhere near the Rose Garden (not the picnic table, too hard to shoot.) White House aides tell me that there is no "precooked" statement already agreed to and no...

Health Care: Long Slog Ahead
The President said today that in the “best-case scenario,” a health care reform bill will not get voted on or signed until mid-fall. But key negotiators on both the House and Senate sides told me today that I shouldn't be...

Roundtable: Obama Sparks Race Debate
Did the Cambridge police act "stupidly" when they arrested Skip Gates? Was the President smart to say so? Can this be the "teachable moment" Obama wants?

Conrad: Democrats Alone Can't Pass Health Care
Despite their 60-vote majority in the Senate, a top Democrat argued today that Democrats alone can't pull health care reform through Congress. "There are not the votes for Democrats to do this just on our side of the aisle," Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and a key player in the health care reform effort on Capitol Hill said during an exclusive health care debate this morning with Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., on "This Week."

‘This Week’ Sunday: Health Care Reform Debate
On the show this Sunday, an exclusive debate between two people who are shaping the health care debate in Congress: Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., and Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., -- who has said that health care reform could be Obama’s “Waterloo.” Plus, joining me on the Roundtable to discuss all of the week’s politics: ABC’s George Will, ABC's Donna Brazile, the Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington, New York Times columnist David Brooks and Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman.

Obama's Health Care Push
It was clear last night that the president fully knows his stuff on health care, and he strongly made the point that the status quo isn't working. But he was less successful in selling what he wants to do because he doesn't have a single bill to sell right now.

Obama's 'Make or Break' Deadline ... Missed
The president's closest friend in the Senate took a bullet for him today. Hours before the president's press conference, Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin acknowledged what had become clear across Capitol Hill, telling "The Hill" that it just wasn't "possible" for the Senate to meet President Obama's
August deadline for passing health care through the House and Senate.
