Hillary: “I Kind of Like Being a President”
September 30, 2009 5:42 PM
Funny moment at the UN Security Council, especially in light of Taylor Branch’s Revelation in “The Clinton Tapes” that President Clinton was suggesting Hillary as Al Gore’s running mate in 2000.

Why the hatred? Didn't Jesus command us to love one another?

A large majority of us wish she was the President instead of the guy who fell from the sky. His handlers are running the country, and they don't match what the majority of Democrats (and all Americans) want or believe in. And, they don't care is the sad part.

"Wicked Witch"? why? I can't believe that in a supposed 'civilized society' we resort to name calling when we disagree.
What has she done to offend you? champion women and children's rights? Advocate for the under-represented?
Had poise and grace under pressure?
What is this country coming to?

"bpower" Please speak for yourself. You and the ilk of GOP haters are the ones who think so foolishly. Give me a Columbia and Harvard eduacted constitutional lawyer anyday over a "C" student Bush. I find it funny that you many of you sat silent when we were circling the drain of the last administration but now feel that a man who has been in office 9 mos. is comparable to Hitler but a man who had EIGHT YEARS!!! to deplete a surplus, get us in a unnecessary war (Iraq), fail to regulate the financial sector, strain relationships with allies, and add a host of new enemies to the list gets a free pass. Yea. This is all about policy, RIGHT!

speak for yourself..how can you compare obamas grades to bushes...obama wont release his transcripts. so your summation is pure speculation as your man has very few facts behind him. i would have voted for hillary anyday and she is more qualified.

I think you jump the gun assuming that a lot of the democrats would have rather had Hillary I know plenty of them. The party was split and she gave into to the powers that be right before the convention. She might have lost because of the SUPER DELEGATES but not becuause of what the people wanted. To them it is never about the people.

OK - I won't resort to name-calling - Hillary Clinton is clearly one of the most self-serving, mean-spirited, insincere, holier-than-thou, phony, self-absorbed, just plain nasty individuals in the annals of recent American politics. You can also include "deluded", given her AND her husband's fondness for the "VAST right-wing conspiracy" theory which seems to haunt their every move - MINOR little things, like Whitwater, Vince Foster's so-called "suicide" and the like. Then there's self-righteous, incompetent, STEEPED in her own twisted self-image . . . Hey, but I did NOT resort to name-calling!

Hillary is an extraordinarily smart, talented, experienced and tough public servant. I hope she runs for president in 2016 after Obama's two successful terms. The attacks against her come from the Death Panel/Birther/Palinites -I like that she draws fire from those wackos. That shows me that she is exactly the kind of fighter we need for the causes we believe in.

i feel much more secure with her handling foreign policy than obama. she might be a witch, but she's a tough, intelligent, saavy witch. obama's just a naive neophite. i think world leaders look at him more as novelty than anything else. she probably should have been president.

"C" Student Bush still had a GPA higher than Al Bore.

Speakforyourself, drinking that kool aid are you? If the big O went to any college I would be surprised.......he's lied about most everything, what makes you think he went to college other than to visit..........LOL

Um...."speak for yourself"-- I'll take a Wellesley and Yale educated genius over a Columbia and Harvard educated little boy any day.
Hillary Clinton WILL be president. That's not the question. The question is: 2012 or 2016? Time will tell. Right now, it's up in the air b/c naive boy is not doing very well, even with his own party.
Posted by: Amber | Oct 1, 2009 9:07:27 AM
Well, nice that she could joke about that, but one wonders how serious she was about the work at hand.
Posted by: Rick McDaniel | Oct 1, 2009 9:35:30 AM
HOPESPRINGS: I'd guess, then, based on my comments that I'm lumped into that "Death Panel/Birther/Palinite" label. One, though I don't agree with Obama's healthcare reform, I don't buy into the "death panel" crap; I don't particularly care for Palin, she doesn't show me much; the "Birther" label? You'll have to enlighten me. However - "smart, talented, experienced" and -the best part!- a "public servant"? Hillary's only "service" is for her own benefit! And, WHAT experience? She's battered her way into a post for which she has absolutely NO experience or ability, by virtue of her having run, the Clinton name having some clout, and Obama having to make peace with a rival. But, PLEASE - don't pretend that she's a capable public servant with ANY ability whatsoever!

Hell, I'd take Hillary over Obama in a nano second. Hillary is smart, knows what she's doing, is very gifted and knows the world.
Oh yeah moreNmore. Considering the 8 years spent under dictator Bush, who acted more like Stalin every day he usurped the office. It's a breath of fresh air to have competence back.
Posted by: Gary | Oct 1, 2009 11:10:42 AM
GARY - perhaps you can point out the "competence" in this adminstration - apologizing to the entire WORLD for ANYthing that EVER happened prior to this administration doesn't demonstrate competence, any more than Hillary's more noteworthy efforts, like ripping into some kid because she'd THOUGHT he'd asked what Wild Willy thought of a given situation.

One thing I'd forgotten to include in my last comment - I'm NOT enamored of George Bush or his administration. Unfortunately, though, the US citizenry has devolved into a sordid pissing contest: "Democrats SUCK! No, REPUBLICANS SUCK! No, Dem . . . ." - instead trying to find legitimate answers to some VERY significant problems, we latch on the easy way: "I'M affiliated with the FILL_IN_THE_BLANK party, so YOUR'S is WRONG!" The NEWEST twist to that mindset is, if you disagree with the current administration, you're racist, you MUST be! COULDN'T be anything ELSE!
