Steele: Speaker Boehner
November 08, 2009 10:26 AM
Republican Chairman Michael Steele had a Freudian slip this morning on 'This Week' when he referred to Minority Leader John Boehner as "Speaker Boehner." Already looking ahead to the 2010 elections, Steele and Democratic Chairman Tim Kaine had a lively bout on the lessons of last Tuesday's elections and the future of health care.
And Steele stuck by his slip: predicting a Speaker Boehner if Dems continue to push health care.

Lively? Steele wouldn't shut up long enough to let Gov. Caine answer his questions - just shows how rude the current Republicans are and have been lately.

I am on the verge of no longer watching news shows because I am tired of being misrepresented. It is insulting me to say that I can not tell the difference between local and national issues. I can vote for a Republican Governor and Democratic President and Congress people. I am an independent and both parties need to stop insulting our intelligence.
Can we make people tell the truth on any show called a news shows? PLEASE!

GEORGE, PLEASE READ THIS - you raised the point this morning several times re. the incendiary statements coming out of the right wing, and showed John Voight. YET - you did not force a comment strongly denouncing this strategy. The mist we heard was Cokie calling it uncomfortable. Sadly you are not alone - the media has not spoken out or forced an outcry. The sad reality is, Voight commenting that our president has been programmed for 20 years by Wright is just as bad, possibly worse, than the comments from Wright. We'll hear about one day though, when an extreme act of violence incited by the right wing vitriol hits a prominent leader in our country. STEP UP and force the outcry.

One only need to have watched the round table discussion to see the problem. Frank Luntz is telling you how we feel and then the political ideologues tell him how it does not apply to their party. Wrong. For once in your political lives, stop being sheep and start learning how to listen to what the people of this country are saying. Listen to both sides-not only the side you want to hear. When politicians can learn to become more interested in the people of this country than in the game of politics, then we will see progress economically and overall.

Pamela - I think the rudeness is emanating from all sides -- I noticed that Kaine was the first to start interrupting so he established the back and forth.
Actually, Steele's remarks were more important, considering the way this HC bill was pushed through behind closed doors and then in the dead of night w/o respect for the input of ALL Americans.
Nancy is just warming up -- all the illegals will be here soon to partake of the gov't option. Get ready for waiting in line.
Kaine's remarks were so far off.....we are in big trouble with this incredible debt to be...

George - Kaine's rudeness was so distracting, that I am now motivated to listen more clearly to Republican chatter.

George, I watch your program every Sunday. Normally your guests are at least polite even if they don't agree. I almost changed the channel watching the rude conduct of Governor Kaine. Please don't ever have that guy on the show again. He prevented this piece from being educational.

Obama has brought more disrespect from our citizenry for the office and person of President than I ever imagined could happen. You'll notice that fewer and fewer are even using the title "President." They're just saying "Obama."
Posted by: randy | Nov 8, 2009 11:30:26 AM
Obama is insulting, saying the American people are not intelligent enough to understand the health care overall bill. But on the other hand, maybe he's right, the American people did vote for him! They called him the candidate of change, but apparently they never exercised any brain power to ask and think about what kind of change! If they had, like I had, they could have foreseen these changes: change this nation from a democratic republic to a socialist state, change our economy from a capitalist market to a Marxist economy, and change our nation from a Christian nation to an Islamic nation. If those are the values of our President, he ran for president in the wrong country. Maybe he should have run for president of Russia or Afghanistan!

It is apparent that Michael Steele wears the same blinders that the
Republican party has worn for many decades. The Republican party is not a party for the people. The Republican party believes in "every man for himself". Michael Steele sounded like a whinning child who didn't get his way. A Health Care bill has finally been passed. This issue has existed for years, because no one wanted to take on this challenge. This has been an onging battle all year, so to suggest that it was done behind closed doors is a cop-out. As for the unemployment rate, the pot has been brewing for the last eight years and has finally boiled over.

I got curious, and read some of the Fox News watchers comments on this site,Wow I must say they are really like sheep,They all repeat the same talking points!marxist,socialist,etc..You would think that an individual would weigh in on the facts, and form an opinion on their own, instead of being told to oppose anything that is considered Libral or Conservative, now that's really scary!they make the claim that the HCRB is too much to read, but yet they all know what's in it! which is it? either you read it and don't understand it,or you just listen to what someone told you! and join the frenzy like cattle lead to slaughter! Then you start saying that the 2010 elections are what the Conservatives are waiting for,but you all underestimate Obama's strategy, the real election is 2012, there is a lot of 14 year olds just waiting to follow in their parents and relatives footsteps to vote for President Obama in 2012.

Bet the RNC drops Steele like a rock before the 2010 election. The man is an idiot.

We are at 2 wars and this is what parties are talking about. 55 soldiers died in theater in the month of October. 55 families lost love ones and this is what we talk about on the Sunday talk shows. Talk about stopping this damn war and bringing our children home alive.

George
I have never cared what was done in DC. I started watching because I refused to vote for a Black Man because he is Black. I was even willing to vote GOP,Then the Lies and Slander Started. They all claim to carefor"ThePeople"but have forgotten they too are people.Well I read all the Bills and understand the politics but to scare the Elderly and hit below the belt on everything is Tyranny. Do they think there are not those of us who remember THE REPLUBLICAN BIG Boys profited from the Medicare Advantage GAP and are in the pockets of Humana and United health care lobbies to the tune of 6 million dollars and climbing.STOP THE LYING WE THE PEOPLE CAN READ AND MAKE OUR OWN DECISIONS. Bush did this on PURPOSE but it will back fire.

Steele pummeled Kaine because he had the facts to back up his argument. This health reform bill is a nightmare!
