24 Hours of LeMons: The Race to Find the Best of the Worst

The 24 Hours of LeMans auto race in France is one of the most prestigious races in the world. The 24 Hours of LeMons, has all the prestige of a demolition derby.
This nationwide series of endurance races, exclusively features cars purchased, fixed up, and track-prepped for a total of $500 or less. As the organizers of the race say, it's a competition like no other. "In all motorsport, no event captures the universal human need to whale on old crapcans and hoover down greasy barbecue like the 24 Hours of LeMons."

How Much Weight Should Pregnant Woment Gain?

Updated guidelines from the Insitute of Medicine say obese women should only gain 11-20 pounds during pregnancy.
The recommendation adds to the agency's previous advice that overweight women gain 15 to 25 pounds, normal-weight women add 25 to 35 pounds, and underweight women put on 28 to 40 pounds during pregnancy.

AmeriCAN: Krissi's Kloset

Today's AmeriCAN is 16-year-old Krissi Fajgenbaum of Raleigh, North Carolina. Inspired in part by Diane's Appalachi special and the soaring unemployment in her state, this high school sophomore started "Teens 2 Teens," an effort that "partners" teens from financially stable areas with teens whose families are struggling. It started when Krissi organized a clothes drive in her community and sent donations to Robbinsville High School where students were in need. The kids from Robbinsville now run "Krissi's Kloset," a free students-only clothing boutique.
