Schumer Votes Obama

August 27, 2008 5:46 PM

3:45 pm MT: For those looking for early signs about how many delegates will still vote Clinton on the first ballot, ABC's Steven Portnoy reports that Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., one of Sen. Clinton's strongest supporters, just signed his ballot as a superdelegate for Obama.

3:56 pm MT: And all 47 Arkansas delegates go Obama. Clearly a big symbolic statement. Almost as big a symbol as California passing in the count.

The Roll Call
California passes....can't put Hillary first. Always Obama out front...."fixed", no fun, no excitement.....what kind of a convention is this? Made for kids! Why doesn't Obama just send out a text message that he won. Ridiculous.

Ann

You are sorta annoying.

Posted by: Ray | Aug 27, 2008 6:03:09 PM

ahhhhh yes, those democrats are so loyal arent they?!

Posted by: tim | Aug 27, 2008 6:08:27 PM

I understand it. Clinton devoted her life to the party, and championed civil rights from she was a teen. She will not go down in history to be the one who foiled it when Obama could win. Dems leadership and the Obama campaign exploited her loyalty and she delivers, even though I think she is in her right to do what she promised voters she would: Fight!

In the end this is on the superdelegates and Dems leadership who fumbled the ball and gambled the election. I hate them for it, and I am not sure they serve votes come November. I dislike Obama, find him disingenious and worse inexperienced. He is not a man of action, not even of words, although people say he's a great orator. All I can hear is aah- and eeh-, more so when he gets unrehersed questions, which is why he avoids debates and hostile press.

Sure he's cool, charming, goodlooking. Politics, I don't know. Nobody does, except he's not for universal health-care that works, which is another reason not to like the guy. Obama sold out to lobbyist a long time ago.

Clinton will probably never run again. She would have made you proud as a nation, it's your loss!

Posted by: Kaneatha | Aug 27, 2008 6:18:01 PM

So, why did we vote in the primary if our pleass? Why do they do that?

Posted by: Lindsay | Aug 27, 2008 6:18:41 PM

Sorry - why do we vote of our pledged delegates pass? Why do they do that?

Posted by: Lindsay | Aug 27, 2008 6:19:39 PM

Sylvia, would you really want another 4 years of bush ? I understand what you saying, but i cant afford another 4 years of this crap !!

When Michele Obama was asked if you would support Hillary if she were the nominee, she said she was not sure.

So, if the wife of the candidate is not sure if she would vote Dem, then why should I? I am returning the favor, Miss Bitter Vindictive Michele, I will vote for McCain. have a nice day.

Harvard dean: Obama neglect schools
=====

They also neglect his children: she did good.

Lindsay, the delegates were asked to "pass" if the count ever put Hillary out front...Obama must be out front all the time. If you remember the count both Hillary and Obama had pretty much the same votes....Obama has made a statement that will sink in over time...he does not like women...he took a person that only received 9 thousand votes before dropping out...Hillary got over 18 million and Obama doesn't care what the people think. Obama knows all the answers.

SEE KIDS!! You too can make something of yourself! WELL, at least be able to not embarrass youselves like these silly mushroom takers from the sixties on TV casting their votes now! Sheesh! What a joke - see the guy who cast their votes for Maine I believe? His total didn't even add up .. and not to mention another appearance by a Pelosi look alike on stage! I think she's trippin on shrooms now!

Did anyone see the diagram of the venue Obama is having his speech at?

I think it's even MORE obnoxious than his fake presidential seal. He is certainly giving McCain enough reason to call him a celebrity.

Obama is going to lose in November. Sorry, but all the stolen chants (yes we can was used before, but in Spanish- si, se puede) not going to make any difference. Chant it up, but you will lose.

I would have been happy to vote for an African American person for President, if that person were actually qualified and had sound judgment.

Obama is not that guy.

The democrats sure made a**es of themselves this time ... totally ignored the voters and the best candidate they have had in years! This is another Democrat who is voting for McCain just so it will send a message to the DNC that the voters should elect the nominee rather than the DNC selecting the nominee!

Yeh Patrick - I heard there was a large fountain of purple kool-aid being erected outside for the "followers"!

I'm a Canadian watching the US election from a distance.....and I cannot believe what I'm seeing from some of these Hillary supporters! I am a lifelong liberal (democrat) in my country, and regardless of who our candidate would be......I would much rather deal with a democratic idealogy than the right-wing conservative republican mess that John McCain stands for. These Hillary supporters who have said that they will support McCain in the election, or not vote at all (which is a vote for McCain anyway)....just astound me! When we see McCain in the media...it becomes quite obvious that he's running solely on his military record and what he will do to maintain America's military might and influence in the world. The guy is a textbook "war monger"! I'm curious to know how some of your so-called democrats can look at themselves in the mirror knowing that they may well hand the election to the likes of McCain and his RNC battle-maniacs...and flush every democratic principal that they have stood for down the toilet. When John McCain leads your country into future conflicts, the blame can be placed squarely on your shoulders. Good Luck America!

I will vote John McCain 08

So sad Hill had to suck it up and put on a good show toeing the line....MILLIONS OF US DON'T HAVE TO ALONE IN THE BOOTH WHEN WE PULL THE LEVER FOR McCAIN!

why did california pass?

Posted by: sonia trevino | Aug 27, 2008 7:00:32 PM

doesn't matter sonia, it's over. Hillary should fly out tonight, like Bill is with lots of top Clinton supporters in tow. They don't want to stay around and see the spectacle Thursday.

Posted by: Debra | Aug 27, 2008 7:02:07 PM

i agree debra. did you see that idiot donna brazile after the acclamation was official? she was acting like it was a heavy weight boxing match bouncing up and down with clenched fists in the air-problem is it was fixed right from the beginning.

so be it time to get behind mccain.

Can't you think for yourself? Any excuse is better none.

Do you have health care?
Does your love ones have health care. Are you sure you are going to keep it?
Is your job secure? Let's face it, and not be stupid. This is the time that we can do something ourselves and others.

With all due respect to all of the of the DEMS,Senator Clinton and Obama included, they want to do something for the American People. They both have what they need to secure their family,( Obama doesn't have nearly has much as the CLINTONS, but if he doesn't win the election, he can give speeches, write books(let's face it, writing about this experience alone will make him a millionaire times over) So if you are too bitter, can't understand what's at stake, and you are willing to cut off your nose to spite your face, then I just hope that you or your love ones DO NOT suffer for it.

All her speeches and her graciousness just make me more convinced that Obama is not the one. I have so many friends, even those who voted for Obama, who told me that Hillary should be the nominee, or at least the VP. I think there is lots of anger there -- the better Hillary does, the stronger I detest Obama. It is going to be a landslide win for McCain -- some democrats will help that happen.
