John Berman has been at ABC since 1995, and allowed to appear on television since 2001. He covered the 2008 campaign extensively, following John McCain and Mitt Romney during the primaries and then Barack Obama in the general election. He also spent more than 20 months chasing George W. Bush around the country as a producer from 1999 until 2001, earning the clever nickname, "Pain in the Ass," from our 43rd president. He is a frequent and sometimes welcome contributor to all of ABC's broadcasts.

Springsteen, Bon Jovi to Join Obama Thursday?
August 25, 2008 2:02 PM
From ABC News' Rick Klein, author of The Note: It's his life, and he's born to run. And it doesn't get much bigger than this.
The Rocky Mountain News is the latest to report confirmation of a rampant rumor in Denver: That Bruce Springsteen is planning a brief acoustic set Thursday night from Invesco Field, from the same stage that Sen. Barack Obama will receive the nomination.
That would make it a big Jersey night: Jon Bon Jovi is also slated to perform that night.
Surely "The Rising" needs to be on Springsteen's play list -- it gets played at just about every Obama campaign event these days. A fellow Bruce fan suggests adding "Long Walk Home" and "The Promised Land." Maybe "Land of Hope and Dreams"?
As for Bon Jovi -- let's guess that "Livin' On a Prayer" isn't the right note to hit.
Thoughts? Do rock stars matter? Of course, there are rock stars, and then there's The Boss. . . .

ABBA will rejoin to play "Dancing Queen" at McCain's nomination along with Air Supply.

a Democrat for McCain?
That's ridiculous. I can't think of a presidential candidate in my lifetime that has less to do with core Democratic values than John McCain. After 8 years of a president who has taken a pass on all accountability, the last thing we need is a guy in his 70's with an anger management problem.
Having Bruce Springsteen play a few songs following Senator Obama's acceptance speech on a Denver summer night will be triumphant. I can't wait.

I would suggest that McCain invite Ozzy to sing War Pigs.
Posted by: Huh | Aug 25, 2008 5:45:59 PM
Ozzy could do Paranoid as well...

Old rockers? Jon is 46, how young are you sweetcheeks? Everything he's touched latly has been golden. Number one album, highest grossing tour in the world this year 130.000.00 albums sold. He is a celebrity but also a taxpying citizen of this country and has the right to speak out. You are just a bunch of old white racists who can't stand the fact that we will have the first black president soon. Get over your cheap trashy selves.

For the one that asks if Bon Jovi & Springsteen have more than one house, I say to you, Bon Jovi gave Oprah 1 million dollars for victims of Katrina. He helped raise funds for The Red Cross, after 9/11. He has built houses for Habitat for Humanity. He has given schools in inner cities, computers. He helped to raise millions for Tsunami victims. His humanitian efforts go on and on. How many politicians do you see giving millions? If it were up to me it would be Bon Jovi for president!! Yeah they are self made millionaires, and at least they are giving back. They have lived the American dream and they are doing someting, instead of just watching. They deserve 10 houses if they want.

I wish they would just sing their songs and not try to sway votes. Same thing with actors.

The dog they will choose, the china? Who cares? Michelle Obama hates American, period. Wake up everyone! Obama is a fraud and a lier. Our nation has allowed a corrupt man to obtain the highest position in the land, without being vetted. If you want more government control, we just got it! God help us all!
