John Berman has been at ABC since 1995, and allowed to appear on television since 2001. He covered the 2008 campaign extensively, following John McCain and Mitt Romney during the primaries and then Barack Obama in the general election. He also spent more than 20 months chasing George W. Bush around the country as a producer from 1999 until 2001, earning the clever nickname, "Pain in the Ass," from our 43rd president. He is a frequent and sometimes welcome contributor to all of ABC's broadcasts.

When the truth about Obama is discussed it is a smear according to the mainstream media, while attacks on Palin which include a bunch of out right lies, well, that's ok.
Here is some truth about Obama that is far more reprehensible than the story of Palin's 17 year old daughter pregnancy that the media has never covered. Obama neglected his dying mother and refused to visit her on her deathbed because of "scheduling conflicts." During the time his mother was on her death bed he was writing a glowing bio of his bigamist Father. A father, who disappeared into drunken obscurity soon after leaving Obama's 18-year old unwed mom. Obama, until, now did not seem to grateful about his mom staying to raise him along with a lot of help from his white grandparents.
Obama said in his so called great acceptance speech last week "I am my brother's keeper". However that leaves out his half-brother in a Nairobi slum who earns a dollar a month who has received zero money from his brother Obama.
If the media was even a little bit fair they would be giving some coverage to the above facts about Obama's family history and how Obama neglected his dying mother and his half brother in Nairobi. Not to mention the fact that Obama seems more appreciative of his black Father who abandoned him than his white mother and grandparents who stayed around to raise him.
If the media is going to be covering Palin's family the media should also be covering Obama's family. Problem is the media is in the tank for Obama and would not even think of covering the really reprehensible way Obama treated his dying mom and his destitute brother in Nairobi.

I haven't decided if I am going to watch tonight. I can listen to their speeches but it will not erase the fact I am worse off now than I was 8 years ago. McCain has been adamant about his Bush support stating he supports him/has supported him more than almost any other Republican. I would be doing a disservice to my family to sign up for 4 more years of this failed economic policy and foreign policy.

Mary..where have you been the last 19 months. No detail has been left out of the media's coverage of Obama's life. Don't you remember they even pulled out papers he wrote in kindergarten? It's Palin's time to be vetted by the American people. Some information will be true, some will be false. It's up to the people to decide. We deserve to find out everything we possibly can about her.

They did do some coverage that was not pro Obama. They mentioned it, then it disappeared.

Everyone else they take everything bad on a person (made up or not) and plaster it on the media for days and days.

Obama is only allowed to have good coverage, his rich friends see to that.

They never Carried the Fact Obama's mother Had him only after being married for 6 months.

Of Course Obama's dad was married to someone in kenya when he married Obama's mother.

Chicago Annenberg Challenge we have yet to see them run the juciy details on that story. Where him and Ayers worked close for years.

Maybe they should open his life up on the media and disect it like they do with everyone else's. with out the sugar coating.

its ok to slam obama over and over again in the media, 24 hr rev wright coverage, his sacramento comments completely taken out of context for political gain, and constant questions of is he ready, who is he, what does he believe...

thats ok..

but do it to palin and suddenly its sexist... suddenly its unfair and terrible

perhaps mccain should have vetted her instead of just randomly picking a name out of a hat
