Richardson: Obama Expecting 'Erratic' McCain Attacks
October 15, 2008 7:04 PM
Per ABC's Sunlen Miller, Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., offers this piece of spin (and notice the word "erratic," since you will see it again): "We're expecting that McCain is going to try to get a game changer – try to hit a homerun by being negative. And Obama is going to respond in a very positive way about the economy, about health care, about America’s role overseas. That’s the difference between the two candidates."
"Sen Obama's main challenge is to do as well as he did in the other debates, talk about the issues, be bipartisan, appear calm and knowledgeable, and not erratic like Sen McCain and talk about the economy. The economy. The economy."
"Sen Obama is not overconfident. He is working hard to get every vote. This race is not over. It looks good and we're getting great movement in battleground states. I think the American people are seeing Sen Obama as the positive candidate, the unifying candidate. The candidate that can bring the country together that is bipartisan. The candidate for change. And they are seeing Sen McCain as being the negative candidate. Who's just attacking. And that’s now working."

Hey Tim, that's going to be President Obama to you and the rest of the RW ditz brigade. Are you and the rest of the RW "low information" voters going to keep your "Support our President and the Troops" bumper stickers?

And we freaks VOTE!
Posted by: Freaks Come Out at Night | Oct 15, 2008 7:24:08 PM
Uh Bill, Bipartisn? When you use the term "erratic"don't you mean senile, old "tart" and stuff like that? Couldn't you have used a term such as his policies differ from ours or he has simply got it wrong?
Insults, no matter how clever you are , are still insults.

Virginia is turning Blue!
McCain and his talking parrot should do something they forgot to do in Iraq - plan an exit strategy.
Posted by: Dave in VA | Oct 15, 2008 7:29:24 PM
McCain doesn't have a clue or a plan. He needs to check with Rush, or one of his clones or may some morons from FOX news. Fair and Balanced..what a joke..kind of like under pinnings of economy are sound. Kind of like we should stay in Iraq for 100 years.....Sure..vote McCain...what a pain..and a drain.
Posted by: John | Oct 15, 2008 7:32:09 PM
Tim should bring up the keating 5....how McCain stood by and let all this non sense happen Voted with Bush over 90% of the time. The real reason he is on the ticket..not because he is qualified. Some of his buddies in Vietnam say he sold them out..told secrets to the enemy....
Posted by: John | Oct 15, 2008 7:34:42 PM
Had McCain picked a credible VP and this would be a very close race.
Over 60% of Americans polled think Plain is unqualified to be VP. I for one agree.
Had he picked a better running mate, he could have drilled the "experience" issue.
But with Palin, that argument is moot.
McCain has shown poor judgment because he listened to the GOP rather than pick who he wanted. Thus he is now only able to use meaningless accusations and inuendo as his main talking point.
Sarah Palin is the Britney Spears of national politics. She may draw a crowd, but nobody thinks she's qualified.

Had McCain picked a credible running mate, this election would be much closer than it is right now.
He could have hammered the experience issue as his main theme.
But now, with Palin, he is all over the place. The experience argument is moot.
He can't really be a "reformer" now since his running mate just got busted on Ethics Violations and Abuse of Power.
All he has left are weak accusations of unsubstantiated "secret" dealings. That may be great for the right wing pinheads, but average middle of the road Americans are more concerned abot their future than they are about rediculous finger pointing.
And quite frankly, McCain aided a convicted felon by stalleing regulators. A man who swindled billions in people's life's savings. He took $100,000 from him as well. He can make accusations, but his PARTICIPATION is documented.

If Obama is a freakshow... please tell us what McCain & Palin are??????
Posted by: Julie | Oct 15, 2008 7:42:25 PM
The only thing erratic about this election is Barack's ever changing positions. I no longer have any idea what he's for or against. It changes daily.
Posted by: NancyPelosi | Oct 15, 2008 7:45:52 PM
Not only do I think Palin is unqualified to be vice president, I believer she is unqualified to be an American.
She supported AIP (Alaskan Independent Party), so she may feel the same as I do.

Picked up a copy of William Ayers' book "A Kind and Just Parent." It reads just like "Obama's" books. Looks like Ayers helped Obama sort his scrapbook into "Dreams of My Father." See Jack Cashill's website for detailed analysis vs. Ayers book "Fugitive Days."

One-time MLK lieutenant gets 15 years for incest

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) -- A one-time top lieutenant to Martin Luther King Jr. was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison for having sex more than a decade ago with his then-teenage daughter.
The Rev. James L. Bevel, 71, a key architect of the 1963 Children's Crusade in Birmingham, Ala., and other pivotal moments of the civil rights movement, was convicted earlier this year of a single count of incest.
The assault occurred in the early 1990s in Loudoun County, when Bevel was working closely with the Virginia-based organization led by political extremist Lyndon LaRouche.
The 15-year sentence imposed by Circuit Judge Burke McCahill was the most severe allowed. Sentencing guidelines called for probation only.
Bevel testified during Wednesday's hearing that he was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver. Doctors estimate he has only six weeks to six months to live.
Bevel had hoped for probation so he could enter hospice care. But prosecutors said his illness should not temper his sentence.
"We know that the defendant is dying," said Prosecutor Gigi Lawless. "Everyone dies. This defendant should die in jail."
Prosecutors estimated that Bevel, who is eligibile for parole, would serve no more than five years if he were to live that long.
They also revealed that at least four other daughters Bevel had with various women have made similar allegations against him. At the sentencing hearing, the victims said they were hoping that Bevel would apologize for his actions and seek forgiveness and reconciliation.
That didn't happen. Instead, Bevel mocked the notion of an apology.
"Saying 'I'm sorry' is a game we play. That's a playboy talking to a prostitute," Bevel said on the witness stand shortly before he was sentenced.
Bevel then launched into an extended explanation of his philosophy, which includes applying the teachings of the New Testament to the "science of constitutionality." During his trial, testimony indicated that Bevel considered it parents' duty to "sexually orient" their children.
Bevel's daughter, Aaralyn Mills, testified about the conflicting feelings she has had as she pursued the case against her father, a man that she said she still loves and respects in many aspects.
"It's fading, but I still have a strong feeling that my father was doing something, that he was working on some truth," said Mills, who agreed to be identified publicly. "My hope was for him to apologize in a Christian way, to repent. ... I've never known him to be a liar. He's been violent, mean and abusive, but he's always been honest."
During the trial, Bevel's daughter testified that she was repeatedly molested by Bevel beginning when she was just 6 years old, culminating in sexual intercourse in 1993 or 1994 that formed the basis of the incest charge.
Besides being a leader in the Children's Crusade in which police turned fire hoses and dogs on child protesters, Bevel was also an organizer at other civil rights movement events, including the 1965 march at Selma, Ala.
In the 1960s, Bevel was a leader in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), two of the stalwart organizations that led efforts to desegregate the South.

Obama, the candidate that can bring the country together? You will never get the country together with either a far right or a far left candidate. Obama has been far left all of his political career and I don't see him changing after the election. The only time our country will be together is when we elect a moderate... Period.. Far left and Far right will never meet. The best we can hope for is that 70% of our country is together.. Democrat for McCain...

Why is it when Obama was confronted with questions about his PAST and associations, the race card starts flying?
There are several unanswered questions that Obama must answer clearly and honestly to the American voters:
1. Is he ELIGIBLE to run for the POSTUS office? If he is, WHY he sent his lawyers to block the Berg's effort to verify his eligibility. He could simply produce the requested documents and put this issue to rest.
2. His economic plan. He said to the plumber that "spread the wealth around" Is that the basis of his econmic policy, to spread the wealth around by taking from riches and giving it to the poors?
3. His main theme was JOBS. HOW does he plan to create jobs? If he uses the TAX dollars, then HOW does plan to pay for it when he said that he would give 95% American tax break? That leaves 5% of the people to carry the tax burden.
4. What is his stand on Israel? Jesse Jackson seemed to let the cat out of the bag early with his remarks. Now, the Jewish voters wonder about Obama's support of Israel.
5. His health care plan. How does he plan to pay for insuring EVERY American with this COSTLY plan? For discussion, if there are 300 millions to be insured at the cost say $1,000 per individual, this would cost the gov't $300 billions.
Where are these money coming from? 5% top earners?
These are a few questions that Obama should address.

Just for the record. I get ANNOYED with people who use CAPS as they think other READERS can't pick up on IMPORTANT parts of their COMMUNICATION. That said, I don't like either one. I was for Obama, just for the wild ride we would be in for, but honestly, he seemed off tonight, and his little video with Joe the plumber shows me that he doesn't want to answer a question in a straight-forward manner. I agree, had McCain picked a viable VP running-mate, I think at this point I would be switching. And I swear McCain stumbled and gaffed this about Palin "... she is a breast, breath of fresh air."
