John Berman has been at ABC since 1995, and allowed to appear on television since 2001. He covered the 2008 campaign extensively, following John McCain and Mitt Romney during the primaries and then Barack Obama in the general election. He also spent more than 20 months chasing George W. Bush around the country as a producer from 1999 until 2001, earning the clever nickname, "Pain in the Ass," from our 43rd president. He is a frequent and sometimes welcome contributor to all of ABC's broadcasts.

A side note tonight -- moderator Gwen Ifill, who broke her ankle earlier this week and has been getting around in a wheelchair, isn't the only person on stage nursing an injury.
Earlier this week, Gov. Sarah Palin slipped while jogging and injured her right palm. She'll be wearing a bandage tonight on stage, per National Journal's Matthew Berger.

I guess that is part of the radio apparatus where they will be feeding her answers. Remember Bush's back-bulge device.

What difference does it make what the moderator's political leanings are? All she is doing is asking questions of each side, and making sure the discussion moves along.

Funny. Watching the scene this evening of her getting off the plane holding her baby - no bandage. Hmmm. Maybe you're right fred. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Why does everyone act like her book is a surprise. AP had a story about the last week of July. To whine about it now is pretty disingenuous. Once again the MCCain campaign did not vet the details. Their sloppiness is not Biden's problem to fix.

Republicans play dirty. It's just a way for Palin to get the sympathetic vote...she's injured vote for her.
She's injured, all the focus will be on is she feeling okay, rather than is she doing okay.

Vote No to Pork.
that 150 billion added to the Bill, could have been added to morgages, child care, schooling, new energy forms. But for golden safty nets for Politicans who caused this. Why?
Congress should not have gone home. Or did they 'Truely Know' their Scare Tactics, would work?
America and the World deserve, to be happy.
Nuclear Power for Mangos? No. Sounds like something more, in that.
We could have sent Hydro, Solar, or Wind power plans to help a foreign country.
Vote Independant, and watch CNN and MSNBC, for ALL sides and Points of View.
Vote No to Pork add ons.
Thank you

I detest how nasty and hateful John McCain and his camp has been with his insinuations towards Gwen Iful. They really don't give a fig about anybody but themselves and they don't worry about who they stomp on.

Check the bandage for her crib notes!
Posted by: Truth Matters | Oct 2, 2008 8:04:52 PM
there's a picture of her on this same website where she's looking out a car window and waving with her right hand.
NO BANDAGE!!!! HMMMM?????
could they be trying to distract the viewer?

"What difference does it make what the moderator's political leanings are?"
The moderator can tailor the questions to play to one candidate's strengths.

And yet, she was picked and approved by both parties months ago. She had already announced her book, which is not just about Obama, and both parties knew about it well in advance. If the GOP thought it would be a problem, then they should have said so back then, not now. The complaint was simply a ploy to provide a scapegoat should the debate go badly for her, nothing more. I'm amazed more people don't see it for what it really was.

Way too obvious! Palin was already investigated for this and found free of any wrong doing. Why is it now that she is found to be guilty? Because the demon-crats have a powerful underground filled with people including mainstream media who would do something like this. I was voting Democrat, but I going to vote Republican NOW. Way too OBVIOUS!
Who's looking at JOE's background for exposing and reporting!
cHickeN s its!!
