Behind the Scenes with the "Off-Airs"

February 05, 2008 10:29 PM

Mary Marsh and Leigh Simons Report:

Some of our busiest co-workers in the run up to Super Tuesday were the "off-airs," five ABC reporters who have spent every waking moment since last September covering the five leading candidates in the presidential election. They're the eyes and ears for ABC on the trail, capturing nuance instead of naptime.

We asked them to turn their cameras on themselves so you can see the very glamorous lives of our "off-airs." Last night we featured them on the show, but because of time constraints with the other pieces, we had to cut out a little more than we would have liked.  But since there are no time constraints on the web, we thought we'd give you the "Director's Cut" here.

Enjoy!

Terry Moran, I really enjoy your nightline show. I watch it almost every night. But I could tell how you are so partial for the Democrats. You would have Hilliary Clinton and Obama on your show almost every single night. You were really pushing them hard. I thought you should show and give equal time to Mitt Romney, but you seldom did. I am convinced that the news media has a great deal of control, and who ever they push on their show will get in the Presidency. No one else stands a chance. The other news channels have also pushed the democrats very hard, so the Republicans don't stand a chance of winning the Presidency. I am convinced of that.
