Hillary Clinton Wooing Women?

February 04, 2008 7:30 PM

As the clock ticks down the last 24 hours before Super Tuesday, Obama and Clinton or polling neck in neck in many of the big delegate states like California.  This places an extra importance on undecided female voters.  We checked in with off air reporter Eloise Harper who said that Sen. Clinton tailored many of her campaign events today towards those female votes.

Eloise Harper Reports:

Senator Clinton spent the final day before Super Tuesday placing an extra importance on women voters. She started out the day with twelve women sitting around a table discussing issues like healthcare and child care. The event was reminiscent of Clinton's event in Portsmouth, NH where she shed a tear, when asked "how she does it," and appealed to women across the state. The Senator is ending her day with a Town Hall Meeting that will air on the female-friendly Hallmark Channel. Unclear if this is a sign the campaign is nervous about women coming out tomorrow - or if they are trying to lock them in.

Senator Clinton will vote tomorrow morning in Chappaqua, NY with her husband. She will have her rally in Mid-Town Manhattan tomorrow evening.

Michelle Obama, Carolyn Kennedy,
Ophrah, and Maria Shriver...plus the feminists (100) that spoke out recently pretty well said it all.
What it boils down to, what Hillary will never understand is that it is not about her.

It's not about what she wants, or what she thinks we need.

At her core she doesn't care what we think. It is only important that we listen to her.

We've come too far for that.
We are women. We can think.

Obama listens. He mulls over what he hears.

Oh my, JB, you've drunk the Koolaid. Obama doesn't give a hoot what you think. He just wants your vote. The end. He wants to be "the first black President." The end. You are just being used. Women are always being used, but now we have a chance to say, "not any more." For so many to not understand this is so very sad.

Sosaddened, you should have heard the women in the Hillary Is Crying Again Thread.

Amazing how catty women can be to one another - especially when one has gotten off her a## and done amazing things, while the other jealously decides she is quite a bit less impressive. Resumes count. Especially when yours sucks in comparison.

:)

In keeping with this thorough commentary on the vagaries of the media blitz, not only cued comments and preciptously placed code words, but also a deliberate selection of images helps to convey the sometimes hidden push the media wishes us to accept.

Obama on a plane, in mid-flight - big smile. Air Force One-sh? Oh, heaven’s me, of course not.

Obama, camera angles shot from just below neck level. A Presidential pose? Why how could you!

Tired, baggy-eyed, wrinkles showing in the unfavorable light of direct sun in winter? Hillary’s looking old. Well! That is just plain rude, we wouldn’t DO such a thing, really, conspiracy theorists. Humbug!

But to what end this insane march toward Oprah and OJ. Oprah swapped her voice for Mary J. Blige yesterday, you should have heard her. I mean Ludicris couldn’t have been more ghetto if he’d been ballin’ on some Ferrari with a model, while drinkin’ Courvoissier. I mean she was down right FIERCE with her sisterhood.

And you people think tearing up is phoney?

Oprah. Billionaire brain, billionaire businesswoman. And then what? Race Trumped breathing.

What an absolutely disappointing, pandering, iconoclastic fraud, of galatctic proportions. All this from such a superstar. Now all I have left to remember fondly is her sh*t bookclub and that wagon of fat she carted while submerged inside those Calvins. James Frey, got a tissue?

I just wonder ow far will we go to prove Godbama is a saint? I mean if he could just grow a beard and find a pair of tattered sandals, we'd have Easter covered this year for sure.

But I see riots in the streets and Rodney King - no, we can't seem to get along. But hey Godbama's a uniter.

Katrina style ransacking of businesses? Romney'd cut our throats right then and there. But Obama's got us covered. He'll hurl tough phrases at him and STUN him with English Lit Offense. Speaking of football analogies - OJ. Mr. Simpson Supporters dancing in the streets, laughing. Can't wait to heare all that BS about YES WE CAN. We know, we've seen the court documents. You know your way around a jail. Yeah.
Johnny C. should have had that heart attack a few years sooner. What a dispicable soul he was. He didn't play the race card, he invented it. And now the OBAMAthon has found his play book and one upped us all. Quaint.Well I am sure Johnny is not sitting under an umbrella in paradise, sipping his own Courvoissier. Hopefully he is finding his just rewards rather over Bar-B-Qed as we speak.

And as this gets closer to done, I just can’t believe my eyes and ears.

I mean if it weren’t mainstream, I’d say Scientology should take a cue from this dreck. Tom Cruise, are you taking notes on how to hypnotise the ignorant in two minutes or less? Jim Jones and that Waco Texas wacko would be proud. I bet if Obama passed out Killer Kool-Aid, these people’d drink it down like wine. He hates beer, you know.

Sometimes, I desperately wish I had bulimia. Besides finally being able to fit into a sub-compact car, I would only have to watch ANOTHER CNN SPEECH BY Godbama and poof, up comes lunch, down goes the weight.

Ah, alas. No such luck. (sorry if any of you out there have that eating disorder - you are probably nice and thin - and I therefore I hate you) lol

Anyway - just spewing my usual bitter BS, but trying to be good natured.

Whew.

I feel so much better now. :)

Now I know that post was over the top, but I am too tired to rewrite my show for this thread, so dammit, I am going Barrack, and pasting all my supposed ORIGINAL ideas into this thread, as if I just thought them up here and not over in that other thread. :)

I was feeling sort of shifty, you know, like maybe a Divider, instead of a Uniter - tighty Whitey, that's me.

Well, I have been hearing about the resurrection of Stalinist polling all day and figured I should break out - bust my seams (I am a cow, believe me. If I had a Mini Cooper, my a$$ would be sticking out the trunk for sure).

Hillary teared up. Oprah cranked it all the way to Boogie Town. I felt it. Deep down, Ope. Somewhere, far below, you moved me. Course, by the time I recovered, you were into your MLK speech pattern, and if it weren't for my plate of pasta in front of me, hell, Ida thought I was back in Selma.

I haven't watched much telly these last two days except for the Super Bowl. I was hoping Ope would show up LIVE with Godbama - then if he levitated live on TV we'd know for sure if he was heading for the stars or not.

CNN is just unwatchable. I mean if Candy Crowley gets any bigger, my f-ing Samsung LCD 32: is going to have to head to corner shop and 'git stretched'. I can barely understand her between gulps. Ben & Jerry's should have a flavor for her - Krakatoa Crowley -Thats Choclate Fudge Packed Nuget Almond Marshmellow Cookie Dough, Cotton Candy Crowley. Lite. Of course.

And MSNBC? If Chris Matthews were any more of a chauvinist pig, he sh*t right on the air whle eating corn on the cob from a trough. What a slob. I should know, I look just like him. LOL

Anyway - it is humor that killed the cable tv star. So . . . keep laughing. PS visit www.savagepolitics.com and have a laugh or vent a little. It's almost as good as sneezing.

2009 Where are you..keep up the thoughtful (and buzzword is thoughtful) thoughts. Too many are just voting because of sound bytes. I am watching Hillary's Town Hall, and she does listen and is thoughtful.

You who think otherwise have been misled.

Go HILLARY. HEY make sure you go out and vote no matter what the weather is.
She needs you, we need you! I know a group of 80 year old women who are car pooling back and forth to get the vote out. Their mothers didn't have the right to vote.

JB, they are how many women??? Are you listening to the millions of other women.

Women have finally got a chance to make a statement, and I think that they will.. It's time for a women in the White House, and Hillary is not only the best one in the pool, she's the best choice to fix the problems that the idgit bush has gotten the USA into.. The women of America will start to fix those problems by voting for Hillary Clinton.. She will make a Great President, and Leader of the Free World..

GO HILLARY !! YOU GET MY VOTE !!!

I'd love to see a woman in the White House -- just not this one. I can't bear the thought of another Clinton presidency. Don't get me wrong, I loved Bill Clinton; but frankly, the thought of what another Clinton presidency will mean to the country's unity (or rather lack of unity) is frightening. It's time to move on to something new. There's not a chance in the world that a Clinton presidency will bring the country together. Republicans hate the Clintons just as much as the Democrats hate the Bushes. I'm tired of it. Obama represents the best of what this country can do. He inspires both Democrats and Republicans. I think the country's unity is more important than getting a woman in the White House.

2009 W.A.Y?....You crack me up. Keep on buzzin'.

Posted by: BN | Feb 5, 2008 12:44:37 AM

You Hillary people are getting rather strident. Nervous? Come on baby girls, I was doing political forums online against Bill and Hill before the Internet.

They haven't changed...just polished up with all that money Bill's been raking in.

Another tack...why does HIllary talk like she's the only woman that's done anything in the last 35 years? We've all worked hard to change things.

To think that I could witness the fall and rise of communism in my lifetime. How historic. I have some questions that I think Nightline should be asking Hillary. Where are you going to put the salt mines (call it a watch list or whatever for homophobes, Christians, conservatives and all the like but it is the same thing) for dissidents? How many gulags will Hillary's America need to permanently knock out the vast right wing conspiracy (the dissenting public)? How deep will you reach into my pocketbook to fund your commie agenda? Just remember this election was not endorsed by Skull and Bones so don't blame us. Jon
