Tornadoes, Gold Rush and the "Huckaboom"
February 06, 2008 12:49 PM
Today we'll be keeping an eye on the tornadoes that have torn through the south, killing 48 people. We are going to check in with our crew in Tennessee for the latest on this tragedy.
With the price of gold soaring in the stock market, we'll also be airing a feature on what has become a second "Gold Rush" in Arizona. It seems that history is repeating itself and hopeful miners are setting out to capture their piece of the American Dream in the form of this precious metal.
We're also looking to take an angle on the election results last night to round out the show. As of right now we are thinking of covering Huckabee's surprise showing last night. He picked up key wins in the south including Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and his home state of Arkansas. We'll keep you posted throughout the day.

This is an interesting article with great verbiage or whatever you grammar types call it. I was thinking about John McCain's mother lode which is in Arizona, California, New York and Florida when I read this article and I was also thinking about John McCain's Mother's Nose (caught holding her nose this week). I was also trying to make the connections to the other Gold "Rush" (Limbaugh) and I was wondering if he was hitting dry holes these days? The biggest change in talk radio and other mediums, media or whatever the schooled journalists call it has been a technological shift away from a very concentrated passive source of information, the press, that we (viewers) were unable to influence towards a very participative blogosphere that gives many a voice and sometimes even allows us to be heard. I know the old school journalists and media hounds like to discount the blog, but the social change is happening and no longer do we have to buy the horse dung coming from a bought and paid for media. I am glad that Nightline recently reflected this technological change in their media policies, what you call a "sign of the times" and gave us (your viewers) a voice on your page. Competition is good for journalism as well and let us celebrate the funeral of an oligopolistic media. God Bless America and God Speed Nightline (viewers, bloggers, staff and journalists). Jon
