Closing Arguments: Your Thoughts on Four Dollar Gas

June 09, 2008 10:31 PM

The average price for gas in this country is now over four dollars a gallon. But it’s not just the United States that's hurting. Tens of thousands of truckers in Spain, France and Portugal are protesting fuel prices by blocking roadways, even smashing windshields. It's hard to believe it could get any higher -- but what do you think?

How are we winning? By what measure? Are things better there than two years after we invaded? Yes. Before we invaded? No.

Is the Middle East safer because of the invasion? No.

Are we in danger of losing Afghanistan due to troops being misplaced in an ill-conceived war with an ad hoc battle plan. Yes.

BTW: How do you pronounce "Spugee" because it doesn't sound like a good screen name if you ask me.

Hussein,(the original, not Obama)was killing quite a few Iraqis which has stopped. So yes things are better than before we invaded.
On the Middle East, cite your source(a MSM will not do.
On Afghanistan, cite a source besides your opinion-and yes everybody has one of those too.
On Spugee, I didn't ask your opinion. You must be a good Democrat since you like to take care of everyone else's business.

the only difference in iraq today is they are killing americans INSTEAD OF EACH OTHER something they have done for thousands of years

Rodney, you are fighting a battle of wits unarmed. What in the world is the point you were trying to make.

Posted by: Spugee | Jun 9, 2008 11:32:40 PM

Saddam Hussein was not killing Iraqis at nearly the rate they have been dying. The people there had electricity, gas, shelter and food. Sanitation was much better and most people did not live in fear of being kidnapped or attacked by packs of wild dogs. Christians could go to church on Sundays without fear of being blown up.

Speaking as if you know is not the same as knowing. But I give you points, Spugee, on your wit.

@rodney: although what you say is true, there are a few posters here who have an exceptional command of the english language. i admire their wit and i believe that their wordplay is done partly in jest; best not to take too much offense or them too seriously.

Rodney, I agree with you. That Spugee appears to be a foul humored dolt. He doesn't appreciate your care for the enviroment. I don't think your stupid.

Posted by: Sluggo | Jun 9, 2008 11:41:02 PM

It's fairly simple-

If you belong to the backbone of any country , you're getting screwed.

Oddly, the brains all think that without the backbone, they can survive.

It trulu is disgusting- watching one unit of an essential bond be so disrespectful of what actually provided them their revenue and existence. EXISTENCE.

The comapnies are playing hardball. I say everyone stack up on some Spam and canned chicken and let those a holes figure out who needs who when we don't show up for work.

Life is about balance- the poor need the rich as much as THE RICH NEED THE POOR.

Whata bunch of idiots.
