Obama will win a decisive victory and Dems will sweep House and Senate races from coast-to-coast. This is a transformational election that will realign the electoral map for the next 20 years. The BushGOP was a complete disaster for the country and the mood is angry as hell and ready to throw the bums out and get the nation back on its feet.

Polls are wrong so many times that they are a joke. Go by the polls in history and you will find that a large percentage of the time they are totally wrong.

I think that polls do lie. Many people vote several times as most polls don't check if a person has voted more than once. I have lived long enough to know that when it comes to elections, anything can happen. I also believe that people sometimes say what they believe people want to hear, but when it come to the voting booth, they change their mind. I do believe that Obama will win, because as a ex-McCain supporter, the new McCain is not the one I always backed a liked so much. His tactics are not what I expected from him, and I liked the old McCain so much. We deserved more from him. A lot of my friends now feel the same way.

I think NOT! Once all the hidden Republicans come out to vote I don't think he stands a chance. Right now all of us McCain/Palin supporters are afraid to come out in the open because of all the harrassment and hate shone to us by the the Obama brown nosers.
Posted by: Beth | Oct 23, 2008 12:13:25 AM
Your bias is showing! what is wrong with ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC. IS IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY OF YOU TO BE FAIR?
THE POLLS LIE.
Posted by: MARY | Oct 23, 2008 12:13:38 AM
I doubt the polls and their numbers.
Posted by: Ashraf | Oct 23, 2008 12:14:06 AM
No, I don't think polls matter. They really haven't in the past. Besides the liberal media (T.V., radio, magazines and newspapers) wouldn't give the truth if it was on the end of their noses!!!! :( They hate conservatives and DON'T remain unbias. I don't know one person who has been involved in the polls so who are they asking?
Posted by: Becky White | Oct 23, 2008 12:14:20 AM
I have never had much trust in polls because they tend to swing way to left or right depending on who polled and who is doing the polling.
One reason I never trust polls is because I believe many of them are influenced by a very liberal media.
Remember what happened with Truman and Dewey. Dewey was prancing around like a proud rooster in a barnyard and Truman took the election right from him. That could very well happen again because I do not believe that many people will make up their mind until they pull the curtain shut at the voting booth.
Posted by: Mike Pittman | Oct 23, 2008 12:14:38 AM
Polls are pretty accurate. I believe the majority of the voters really do want a change. We cannot continue in this same state pf chaos. Obama will have a lot of work ahead of him. But I know he can do a better job of what is currently happening.
Posted by: Dorothy Gooley | Oct 23, 2008 12:15:37 AM
No, Obama will not win - polls are inaccurate!! The polls do not get an accurate cross country diversity when they poll people.
John McCain has qualified legally registered voters that will show up and vote!!

i see a backlash against the media in their overwhelming support of Obama. Do any of the polls know that formerly strong Democrats will now be voting for Mccain/Palin? No they don't.
Posted by: sarah | Oct 23, 2008 12:16:35 AM
I believe polls are biased and discriminatory. I also believe the media only tells the American people what the Liberal Media wants them to hear. "Obama is already the leader..."
This delivers a message one of two ways. The first...No need to vote, Obama has already won or better yet the sector of Americans who are really dangerous to everyone and those are the ones who simply want to vote for "A Winner". Please stop. You can not poll everyone so how can anyone or any organization deliver to the public anything more than an opinion? You CANNOT! The only thing that is going to count is who the American people vote for next Tuesday...Nothing else matters and may God help us all to make the right choice!!!

Hey ABC - How did you come to miss the news story on the recent AP Poll showing the election to be a dead heat with 44% for Obama and 43% for McCain? Too close for you to comfortably report to suit the one sided reporting of ABC?
You know what? You might just be at a loss for explanations if enough of us fed up Democrats & Republications turn out and upset this election just to prove you wrong.
Posted by: James | Oct 23, 2008 12:19:39 AM
Yes, the polls lie especially, the CBS/ABC/NBC/Washington Post/New York Times polls since they are all in the tank for Obama. I have seen some other polls like IBD that say the difference is 1 or 2 points. The race is tightening up and I predict that inspite of the one sided media bias towards Obama John McCain will win the presidency.
Posted by: Bharat Agrawal | Oct 23, 2008 12:21:03 AM
Obama will definitely win because too many people are suffering because of the selfishness of the republicans. The only following that McCain/Palin has now are racists who are simply afraid of seeing anyone other than themselves leading America. There is no other reason. All of the repubs tactics have back fired and all they have left are the votes of the rejects of this society who either uneducated small town hicks or upper class snobbs whose noses are too high in the air to even smell the crap that America has gotten into. OBAMA will be PRESIDENT because it is a new day...CHANGE is always inevitable.
Posted by: Beawell | Oct 23, 2008 12:22:09 AM
The only poll that matters in Nov 4th and that's the one McCain/Palin will win!! The rest is wishful thinking from the media for their "darling" Obama. I have more faith in the American voter to think they would put such little experience in the White House and one who according to his running mate will be tested!!! Give me a break. Yes the terrorists will test Obama who has will sit down with them and say"please don't hate us". They will not test McCain, because he cannot be intimidated. He has no fear. He has been to hell and back. Tell me what possibly do you think would make him Blink!!! NOTHING

Based on my personal experience over the past two weeks; the polls are way off. I attended a non political event in PA last week. People were there from all over the country. Everyone that I spoke to was for John McCain and really afraid of what Obama would do if he ever got in. I have one friend that is for Obama and his only reason is that he is mad at Bush. The slanted liberal news media is in for a big surprise.

I don't trust the poll. I'm not saying the poll is lying. But there are many factors affecting the poll:
1) when do you do the survey? Do you do at night or day time, weekdays or weekends? Some people are not reachable at daytime, some not reachable at night, some not reachable at weekdays while some not reachable during weekends. I guess most Obama supporters are young, they are close to computer every day, they are very reachable, so they are easily caught in the survey.
2) how do you do the survey? By phone? Online? Well, same reason, for the computer players, they can submit their survey results everyday and every night.
3) where do you do the survey? In surper market, school, home, club, gym? In public places, people tend to say things favoring the majority, at home, people may worry who is the one on the other side listening?
4) some people don't tell truth. Not because they are liar, they just don't want to bring embarrassment. I know some people don't like Obama, but they just say they are not decided, because they are surrounded by Obama supporters.
I don't believe Obama has such big lead. In my city, I saw 70% yard signs are for McCain.
I think it's unfair for the media to put unnecessary pressure on McCain by saying that Obama has big lead in polls.
Posted by: golfgirlusa | Oct 23, 2008 12:27:13 AM
Barring a national security crisis right before the election, as in 2004, I do believe that Obama will win the election. I do not however, believe that his lead in the popular vote will be in the double-digits. I think that John McCain should have played it safe and chosen someone like Mike Huckabee to be his running mate. He's never been one to play it safe though. Choosing Sarah Palin was like a Hail Mary and on November 5th we'll see if the hockey moms will have made the difference for McCain.
Posted by: Eric | Oct 23, 2008 12:29:23 AM
Polls don't lie, people do. When it comes to politics the only poll that counts is on election day and Florida proved that even then you can't be sure. I think the election will be very close and we will be up until late at night before Obama wins.
Posted by: Dean | Oct 23, 2008 12:31:17 AM
Polls don't lie, they are just inadequate mathematical models to predict the outcome (or even a realistic glimpse) of the way the vote will go. Therefore they are wrong. There are so many ways to introduce bias in this particular election that they are nearly worthless. Fake voter registrations (ACORN) alone may be responsible for skewing the numbers towards Obama. If you don't understand then it is likely you didn't take more than 24 hours of advanced math in college like most of us engineers/math majors. McCains' numbers at worst are a near tie. Bush was down 6% on election day in'04! Just wait...!
Posted by: ProfessionalEngineer | Oct 23, 2008 12:36:59 AM
Yes he can win
Posted by: Paul | Oct 23, 2008 12:38:11 AM
I think lie is a strong word when discussing polling but I would suggest we just look back at 2000 and 2004 to see how close the polls matched the results.
I think only one poll got within 1 point of the actual outcome in the last 2 election cycles, the IBD poll.

I have friends in FL who SAW the Democrats putting drunks and drug addicts on the buses to VOTE in 2004 then they couldn't focus to vote!!! It backfired on the DEMOCRATS!!!! :) They got what they deserved. They shouldn't have tried to cheat. The poor souls punched too many holes!!! The liberal media wouldn't tell this truth anyway. They would rather blame the Republicans than themselves.
Posted by: Becky White | Oct 23, 2008 12:43:18 AM
how many people do you know? that have been polled before. i have never once and not any of my friends have ever been polled.
Posted by: randy | Oct 23, 2008 12:43:48 AM
Polls lie, I really think that McCain supporters are not exhibiting for several reasons, one of which is that "it's not O K to vote against Obama" That makes you a racist, But if you can vote for a black person because they're black, isn't that racist ? The media is very slanted and full of lies, one perky interviewer asked Mrs Obama "WHEN you are first lady" and when she was interviewing Mrs McCain she said "IF you were to become first lady". Tell me that's not slanted.I think once people realize that we live in the United States of America NOT the United Socialist States of America and that we can't have the government doing it all,John MCain will have a clean ticket to the White House. The polls are wrong and it's really being done to try to get the democrat elected,Doesn't anyone realize they've been in control for two years and have been involved deeply in the economic meltdown and gotten nothing done.It doesn't matter how much money you have if you're not safe. Everyone is forgetting 9-11 Thank God the democrats weren't elected, we would have bombed another Pharmaceutical factory.
Posted by: Allison | Oct 23, 2008 12:44:11 AM
Taking an honest poll at the present time would show Obama ahead about 1%.
ABC is adding about 10 to the true polling results, hoping to sway the election in Obamas favor.
To make their last poll befor election day look accurate, when compared to the elction results, they will have to gradually add a lesser amount of fake points as we get closer and closer to election day.
By election day an acurate poll will show McCain about 1% ahead, which will be backed up by the election itself, which of course is the only thing that has any real importance.

"among likely voters" I.e., a selected sample, probably a very carefully selected sample.
I just checked the AOL Straw Poll. While not totally random, it is not selected. It has McCain leading by 14 points (56% to 42%), a 25 point difference.
I'm more inclined to believe the straw poll than one engineered to produce a predetermined result.

The US is in a mess. we are divided amoungest ourselves but want to tell others how and what to do. We need to pray and ask the true and living God for guidance on what to do and say, all we do is make decision based on emotions instead of what is right and true. I do not believe the polls are accurate. I just want the right person in the office, and who that is Im not really sure. I will vote and it is know body's business who I vote for, as long as I vote.
Posted by: Dee | Oct 23, 2008 12:48:57 AM
I do not think the polls are accurate. The media is so biased that they only look for news that is favorable to Obama. They along with the Hollywood groupies put a negetive light on anything reported about McCain or Palin. I don't know why they think it is their duty to interpret what has been said. I think the public is smart enough to discern for themselves what the message was. The silent majority may surprise everyone on election day. How long did it take Nightline to find a democratic Maveric in TX to show in their viewpoint that McCain is No Maveric. Why aren't they digging up something on Obama?
Posted by: Janice | Oct 23, 2008 12:51:42 AM
Yes, polls lie. People with any smarts,do not pay attention to them anyway.
Posted by: Joyce | Oct 23, 2008 12:52:51 AM
People are not hearing or listening about the financial support that Fannie Mae gave to Obama. Their CEO also called Obama part of the family!!!!! Clinton sent companies overseas not Bush. Clinton is a snake, but the Democrats don't want to see the mess he made in Arkansas and the White House. When he has no morals as a President, he is a VERY weak leader. You can't trust him as he lied too many times.
Posted by: Becky White | Oct 23, 2008 12:53:57 AM
I sincerely hope there is a backlash against the MSM. They have been dishonest in their coverage, have let lies go unanswered and shown their bias in a way I never thought possible. I used to trust the media, especially ABC. No longer. There is no honesty in journalism anymore. No digging for the truth because, we the american people, deserve the truth. We are fed garbage these days and we eat it up, devour it and spout it as truth the next day. The media has shaped our thinking, but now I dont trust them to be fair. If Obama wins this election and this country spirals out of control, please refer the lies we've been fed or truths untold. And know that the dumbing down of America has finally taken place.
Posted by: Glenda | Oct 23, 2008 12:55:08 AM
Amen, Glenda. If we go down,it will be because Americans don't care to do the research. They just want their ears tickle. A black guy at the GOP meeting Monday night said that if people would really listen that they would realize that Obama is so long winded that he DOESN'T answer the questions!!!!!
Posted by: Becky White | Oct 23, 2008 12:59:31 AM
We have allowed 500 + people in Washington, D.C. to change our country for the worse. We, the people, are the majority yet don't have enough backbone!!! The supreme court was NEVER suppose to have as much authority as they have and the founding fathers didn't list them first!!!!!
Posted by: Becky White | Oct 23, 2008 1:02:54 AM
I believe polls are a good gauge of what people are thinking at the moment but I would not bet the farm on them.
However, I believe people will be stunned at how many vote for Obama. Where I live you do not dare say you are voting for Obama nor do you put his signs in your yard...especially in the smaller communities. It is just better and easier to let the neocons rave on about the lies the Palin/McCain continue to spread about Obama...then quietly go vote for him.
Posted by: Sandy in Texas | Oct 23, 2008 1:06:08 AM
I agree with Allison; ABC, just like the rest of the liberal media, will add points to the poll, to make it appear that Barack Obama is leading in the polls, because they want to see Obama as President. What scares me is that Obama, as eloquent a speaker that he is, will lead this country down the slippery slopes of Socialism.
People ridicule Sarah Palin because of her inexperience. What exact experience has Obama that qualifies him to be President? He's a politician from Chicago, which is a town well known for corrupt politics. He was barely in the Senate when he announced that he was running for President.
Between Obama's choice of friends (Willioam Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dorn) and his choice of spiritual leader (Jeremiah Wright) tell us volumns about the kind of individuals he'll have as advisors if he gets elected.
Posted by: Joseph | Oct 23, 2008 1:10:32 AM
I'm simply amazed at all the right wing idiots blogging here! The mccain/palin base, stupid, ignorant, uneducated, racist, bigots, yep, these are there base, wink, wink, lie, lie, more wink!
Posted by: suzyku | Oct 23, 2008 1:13:00 AM
Absolutely!
Posted by: linda watkins | Oct 23, 2008 1:14:31 AM
If we listen to you ABC News, McCain is already defeated..But, guess what? A lot of us are waiting until election day to vote because the simple reason, I hope and pray they throw out all the early votes because of the fraud that has taken place..So, don't count McCain out just yet..A lot of us are biding our time.
Posted by: Nina | Oct 23, 2008 1:20:15 AM
I think the polls are quite indicative of what will happen if the elections were held when the polls are taken.
Having said that, with this large a margin, it is going to be nearly impossible for Mr. McCain to close the gap in two weeks.
I believe Mr. Obama will win with a 4-5% lead - not the 10-14% seen now.
Posted by: Onlooker | Oct 23, 2008 1:28:24 AM
Joseph your statement about experience is right on. Dems carry on about Sarah Palin being inexperienced and one heartbeat away form bing president but they will vote for someone and havee no doubt about an inexperienced person occupying the presidents chair. Just can't understand that!!!
Posted by: larry dean beard | Oct 23, 2008 1:29:34 AM
SARAH PALIN AND JOE BIDEN BOTH SPOKE AT RALLIES IN OUR AREA OF COLORADO THIS WEEK. AT PALIN'S RALLY OVER 10,000 PEOPLE CAME TO SEE HER AND ONLY 3,400 PEOPLE TURNED OUT TO SEE BIDEN, ACCORDING TO COLORADO NEWS MEDIA COUNT. THE RALLIES WERE HELD 22 MILES APART WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EACH OTHER. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT SARAH PALIN IS IGNITING ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO RELATE TO HER AND WILL VOTE FOR THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET. IF SHE IS SUCH A "DRAG" (ABC'S WORDS)ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET, WHY IS SHE ATTRACTING SUCH CROWDS? IT IS CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT ABC IS TRYING TO DISCREDIT THE GOP TICKET AND MANUFACTURE DOUBT IN THE MINDS OF UNINFORMED AMERICANS. WHY DIDN'T ABC REPORT THE LATEST AP POLL THAT SHOWS MCCAIN WITHIN 1% OF OBAMA? ABC'S OBAMA BIAS IS BLATANT AND GETTING TIRESOME.

So many delusional posts about the polls lying. Look, people, polling has been going on for a long, long time and while it's not perfect, it gives a pretty good feel for who's ahead, especially when you consider more than one poll. Furthermore, the national polls are not nearly as important as the state polls, which will actually decide the election. Gallup and Rasmussen are probably the two most reliable and stable pollsters and even they are showing a 7-9% national lead for Obama right now, as well as leads in almost all the swing states. Face it, Obama is winning by quite a bit right now. BTW, the polls in the last couple of weeks leading up to the elections in 2000 and 2004 were pretty darn close to being right ... you know, the years when Bush won. Funny how all of a sudden now "the polls lie."
Posted by: Kevin | Oct 23, 2008 1:49:52 AM
I think Obama will win. The polls have been very consistent for a few weeks now, this is a good sign for Obama.
Even more than that look at the McCain campaign, they have given up. It is all negative, he and Palin aren't getting along, they look clumsy, out of sync, and are without a coherent message.
The Republicans are now fighting with McCain himself. It is over for them they know it.
Posted by: Thinking | Oct 23, 2008 1:50:08 AM
The way news ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NY Times, & puts it, Obama is going to win hands down. The news media as a whole want Obama to be elected and will not let anything like facts get in the way.
IF Obama actually wins it is not because he is qualified. IF he wins it is because of the journalistic dishonesty and lack of integrity of the news media as Famous writer & columnist, Orson Scott Card, refers to in his column “Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?”
http://www.linearpublishing.com/orsonscottcard.html
Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?
by Orson Scott Card
An open letter to the local daily paper -- almost every local daily paper in America:
I remember reading All the President's Men and thinking: That's journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.
This housing crisis didn't come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.
It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.
What is a risky loan? It's a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.
The goal of this rule change was to help the poor -- which especially would help members of minority groups. But how does it help these people to give them a loan that they can't repay? They get into a house, yes, but when they can't make the payments, they lose the house -- along with their credit rating.
They end up worse off than before.
This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.
Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It's as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of congressmen who support increasing their budget.)
Isn't there a story here? Doesn't journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren't you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefiting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?
I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. "Housing-gate," no doubt. Or "Fannie-gate."
Instead, it was Sen. Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.
As Thomas Sowell points out in a TownHall.com essay entitled "Do Facts Matter?" (http://snipurl.com/457to): "Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury."
These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.
Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!
What? It's not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?
Now let's follow the money ... right to the presidential candidate who is the number two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.
And after Fred Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate's campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.
If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.
But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an "adviser" to the Obama campaign -- because that campaign had sought his advice -- you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.
You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.
If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.
If you who produce our local daily paper had any personal honor, you would find it unbearable to let the American people believe that somehow Republicans were to blame for this crisis.
There are precedents. Even though President Bush and his administration never said that Iraq sponsored or was linked to 9/11, you could not stand the fact that Americans had that misapprehension -- so you pounded us with the fact that there was no such link. (Along the way, you created the false impression that Bush had lied to them and said that there was a connection.)
If you had any principles, then surely right now, when the American people are set to blame President Bush and John McCain for a crisis they tried to prevent, and are actually shifting to approve of Barack Obama because of a crisis he helped cause, you would be laboring at least as hard to correct that false impression.
Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That's what you claim you do, when you accept people's money to buy or subscribe to your paper.
But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie -- that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad -- even bad weather -- on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.
If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth -- even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.
Because that's what honorable people do. Honest people tell the truth even when they don't like the probable consequences. That's what honesty means. That's how trust is earned.
Barack Obama is just another politician, and not a very wise one. He has revealed his ignorance and naivete time after time -- and you have swept it under the rug, treated it as nothing.
Meanwhile, you have participated in the borking of Sarah Palin, reporting savage attacks on her for the pregnancy of her unmarried daughter -- while you ignored the story of John Edwards' own adultery for many months.
So I ask you now: Do you have any standards at all? Do you even know what honesty means?
Is getting people to vote for Barack Obama so important that you will throw away everything that journalism is supposed to stand for?
You might want to remember the way the National Organization of Women (NOW) threw away their integrity by supporting Bill Clinton despite his well-known pattern of sexual exploitation of powerless women. Who listens to NOW anymore? We know they stand for nothing; they have no principles.
That's where you are right now.
It's not too late. You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.
If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.
Then you will print them, even though every one of those true stories will point the finger of blame at the reckless Democratic Party, which put our nation's prosperity at risk so they could feel good about helping the poor, and lay a fair share of the blame at Obama's door.
You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis. You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.
This was a Congress-caused crisis, beginning during the Clinton administration, with Democrats leading the way into the crisis and blocking every effort to get out of it in a timely fashion.
If you at our local daily newspaper continue to let Americans believe -- and vote as if -- President Bush and the Republicans caused the crisis, then you are joining in that lie.
If you do not tell the truth about the Democrats -- including Barack Obama -- and do so with the same energy you would use if the miscreants were Republicans -- then you are not journalists by any standard.
You're just the public relations machine of the Democratic Party, and it's time you were all fired and real journalists brought in, so that we can actually have a daily newspaper in our city.

They probably didn't report the AP poll that has the race at 1% because it is most likely an outlier. Don't get too excited. Now go look up the word "outlier."

I think this election will be close.
Dems have not got 50% of the vote since Carter and Obama is even left to Carter.
It is difficult for a very Liberal candidate to get that much votes even though the media is behind him.
Bottomline is Obama has not made himself appealing to vast number of voters and they dont trust him or his background.

If we listen to you ABC News, McCain is already defeated..But, guess what? A lot of us are waiting until election day to vote because the simple reason, I hope and pray they throw out all the early votes because of the fraud that has taken place..So, don't count McCain out just yet..A lot of us are biding our time.
Posted by: Nina | Oct 23, 2008 1:20:15 AM
lol, there's been no VOTING fraud. Notice how McCain and Palin stopped talking about Acorn.... Keep dreaming.

Polls do lie and only state what they want us to think. I don't know how they pick people for these polls but I've never met one person that is part of these polls. I am from California and it states we're a blue state, yet I only know one person voting for Obama. Hollywood backs Obama but we're a very big state.

Here's what will happenon election day:
--none of the convicted black felons who are currently so vocal in their support of Obama will be allowed to vote.
--The Bradley Factor will show itself.
--The Why-bother-Voting syndrome will kick in for the Democrats, resulting in far lower than expected turnout.
--The Youth vote will collapse; they just won't get out of bed to vote in enough numbes to affect anything.
--McCain's underdog status is encroaching day by day on the Democratic effort. If the polls are close or tied now, by November 4th, McCain will have overtaken any current Democratic lead.
--The conservative, mature, job-holding, God-fearing citizens of this country will do their patriotic duty and simply turn out to vote.
Ergo: John McCain will handily win on November 4th.
The simpering, tiresome, bleating cries of "racism" will commence on November 5th.

If Obama can maintain his 11 percent lead - he WILL win.
The economy and stock market continue to dive - McCain is rapidly sinking.

People lie. When it comes right down to pulling the lever on election day ... it's McCain/Palin all the way.

YES POLLS LIE.... YES I DO BELIEVE THAT OBAMA WILL WIN THE PRESEDENCY.... IT WILL NOT BECOME A BUSH KERRY TIME. WHERE BUSH WALKED RIGHT IN HELLO, NOT AGAIN I THINK PEOPLE WILL RISE UP IN THE STREETS. WE JUST WON'T STAND FOR IT. YES OBAMA WILL WIN. WHEN PALIN CAN SIT THERE AND DECLARE WHAT HER JOB IF AND IT'S FALSE AS WE ALL KNOW. IT'S LIKE CAN THAT WOMAN GET ANY STUPIDER???

Yes! Polls do lie, especially those paid for by the major news media. They have distorted every aspect of this election in Obama's favor with either outright lies or huge omissions of fact. However,
they don't realize that they are NOT IN CONTROL! God says Righteousness exalts a nation. Obama is anything BUT that and therefore is not qualified for the office. Being black I honestly admit I would like to see a black man in the white house, but not just ANY black man. Obama with his sordid southside Chicago allies can only destroy this nation. God will not allow that to happen.
Therefore McCain will WIN!!!!!!!!!!

Carter led Reagan in the Polls.
Kerry led Bush in the Polls.
Gore led Bush.
Say no more!!!!
The polls are mostly despicable tools misused by a whore-like media that commits group-think tactics against a public that is too busy or lazy to research and think for themselves. I am an Indigo Child. Somehow I will help expose the bastards (Newsmedia at Channels 2, 4, 7, CNN and CNBC).

I'll try again. Some polls are more reliable than others, obviously. The troubling aspect of the polls, according to reports, is the very small sampling pool. Also troubling is the reported weighting of polls to increase Democrat results because of the high Democrat registration figures this election cycle. I fear that if the ACORN mass registrations (many now found to be fraudulent) fail to result in bolstered turnout for the Democrats, many will cry foul. Inflated poll figures undermine faith in the US voting system. Check out the new grey hair in ABC's Obama video about Joe Biden's Seattle remarks about the international incident coming if we vote for Obama. Notice also Sam Nunn in the background. Why no mention Misters Moran and Bashir? Seriously. Didn't you notice?

What most polls are not counting is that there are more than six million Americans living abroad and that most of the energy is coming from the Democrats Abroad organization! So, my daughter and I just sent our 2 Obama/Biden votes as I am sure thousands others have already. So even if they end up being tied in the mainland, which I would find incomprehensible, all the votes coming from abroad will definitely give the Democratic ticket the edge!ABC should start polling abroad ;-) you can do that by just posting a poll on your website.. Another thought: what most people abroad do not understand is how come Americans support someone who bases his campaign on his prisoner years and shifting politics( plus ignorant VP candidate) when they can overwhelmingly support someone who is showing true leadership and running one of the best and longest campaigns in American history based on issues?

Obama will win by a landslide. Look, "all" news casters are reporting their polling stating Obama is ahead. Is it possible that "all" of the media is wrong. Naaaa, I don't think so! Obama will win it hands down. It's common sense -- Just look at the amount of people at his rallies. It's MASSIVE. All my Obama fans make sure you VOTE. Let's show them some real numbers! Obama 08
Posted by: Tanya | Oct 23, 2008 3:59:50 AM
Who did you poll? Everyone I know is voting McCain/Palin. Why doesn't the Media say Obama is NOT qaulified? Why are you picking on Palin? She is more qualified then Obama? I am frightened for our country if Obama gets elected.
Posted by: Molly | Oct 23, 2008 4:02:01 AM
While I wouldn't put all of my confidence in polls, they do give some indication as to which way the election is heading obviously. However, I feel that there is a lot more excitement about this election than the last two and people are really in need of change. Therefore, there might be more to the polls than meets the eye...although I think the race is closer than what is stated above.
I've researched both candidates and all of the political crap(including crazy conspiracy theories-thank you rabid right) should be taken in stride. Fact checking is your friend!
Posted by: Just Jess | Oct 23, 2008 4:05:07 AM
And one question for all of you fearful individuals..
What exactly are you afraid of in an Obama presidency?
Please state some clear facts because I grow weary of the repeated talking points that have already been proven false.

Not one that normaly watches Night Line or ABC for that matter my wife told me
that there was to be a peice on Sara Palin. We had just watch a hit piece on her on NBC and wanted to see how ABC covered her. I wasn't suprised very unfair reporting. Just as bad as NBC. Who cares about her clothing!! I do believe your poll is way off. Americans are not that stupid.
Maybe just your reporter are the stupid ones. ABC you use to be known for your honest reporting what happened?? McCain/Palin will win. Your polls and ABC are lying to the American public.
Posted by: John Holzberger | Oct 23, 2008 4:08:44 AM
"Do the polls lie?" I don't know... let's put it to the test.
Try taking a poll that asks;
"Do you think the news media has been unfair & biased against McCain & Palin during this presidential campaign?"
If the answer doesn't reveal an overwhelming "Yes!", then I would say your polls lie.

I love the persona that Sen. Obama projects, but I feel he has been groomed and coached to achieve that effect. I fear he's an empty suit.
But I think we will be damned whether Sen. Obama wins or loses. If he loses, I think many blacks will feel cheated and despair. If he wins, I think the borders will be opened to millions more from the south, and the lower income blacks will lose far more.
I think the polls should be disbanded because I think they lie and can be slanted by 'higher powers.' If people don't trust their own research and logic then they should find someone they know personally, admire, trust and follow their lead. I must have dozens of people who ask me every time who and what I'm voting for and why.
