Seven Minutes in Heaven

Creators of the middle-school make-out game Seven Minutes in Heaven (consult Wikipedia if you must) may not have been too far off the mark. Experts say good sex typically doesn’t last more than 13 minutes.
Researchers at Penn State surveyed 50 members of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, which includes psychologists, physicians, social workers, marriage and family therapists and nurses. They were asked to name the duration of time they felt was adequate, desirable, too short and too long for couples to have sex.
On average, the "sexperts" rated three to seven minutes as "adequate" and deemed seven to 13 "desirable." Going past the 10-minute mark may sound impressive, but it is considered to be "too long" by some sex experts.
Results of the survey were reported this week in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
Past studies have shown that a large percentage of people say they want sex to last longer than 30 minutes. But the study’s authors warn couples to be careful of what they wish for. Attempting to fulfill such fantasies is a "situation ripe for disappointment and dissatisfaction," the authors wrote.

These must have been some older sex therapists, for them maybe 7 minutes is enough, but not a 30 year old in her prime. ABC stop giving my hubby ideas, He knows he has to jobs, his regular 9-5 and then he must come hometo work out with me..LOL

I think they are right. It's adequate. I have had sex romps that have gone quite long but at the end it just isn't as satisfying as it was in those first 10 min. They aren't talking about foreplay though, just about the actual sex component.

All I can say is thank God for modern medicine. Thanks to the miraculous side effects of Effexor XL, which I take for depression, I and my wife once went for six hours -- nonstop. Yep, I kid you not. And another side effect, when you finally, finally complete your long journey, you see pretty colors, and rattle the rooftop.
