I think we're alone now

"We Want Katherine! We Want Katherine!"
So CHEERED THE CROWDS as controversial Rep. Katherine Harris, R-FL, entered her Tampa campaign HQ last night in her successful campaign for the GOP Senate nomination. Now she will face Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL, and she will largely face him without the help of the national or state GOP.
Is this a stark example of a DEMONSTRABLY STARK LACK OF GRATITUDE by President Bush et al?
Someone else finds himself largely alone today....He is "sprezzatura," a poster to The New Republic's blogosphere....sprezzatura often defended writer Lee Siegel to the angry anti-Siegel bloggy masses, writing, for instance, that "Siegel is brave, brilliant, and wittier than Stewart will ever be. Take that, you bunch of immature, abusive sheep."
Well, it turns out that sprezzatura was Siegel himself, and The New Republic SUSPENDED HIM ...Siegel says HE REGRETS the postings.
Massachusetts GOP Governor Mitt Romney is seeking to likewise isolate former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami.
Romney --who harbors presidential dreams -- ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will not provide state services such as a police escort for Khatami's SEPTEMBER 10 VISIT TO HARVARD ...smart GOP politics... But is it good policy?
chime in, folks!

Well! ABC "News" report on the "The Path to 9/11" (AKA:"The Path to Winning in November")is not suprising considering their desperate attempt to defend the obvious fact that the "docudrama" is aimed at supporting the republicans and bush while slamming the Democrats and Clinton. It is obvious that ABC and apparently ABC News is another voice for Rove, the RNC, and the ultra right. Why don't you just change your name to FOX2 and FOX News2 and get it over with.
George You’re a idiot and by the way your spelling is atrocious may be your liberal university or most likely you are a high school drop out and living on welfare , any way ABC is nothing like Fox and as far to the left you are you don’t even see that ABC puts blame (as the commission did) on BOTH administrations not jus Clintons but then again we were attacked 3 times during the Clinton administration weren’t we.
My statement is fact not liberal hack

Wlcome back, Jake! Three quick comments on today's entries:
Concerning Ms. Harris--As I understand it, she ran a very inept campaign which saw many hard-working staffers quit in frustration due to her micromanagement and muddled message. This overly-mascara'ed beauty school dropout deserves to lose if she can't even get her act together before taking it on the road.
Concerning Mr. Siegel--hoist by his own petard!
Concerning Gov. Romney--Wouldn't it be ironic if, God forbid, something actually HAPPENED to former President Khatami? Who is Romney to deny services to former foreign heads of state? Is Romney's presidential fever clouding his judgment?

LOL busted! But at least Siegel had the sense to adopt a pseudonym. Olbermann flamed his detractors under his own moniker. In so doing, in Olbermann's defense, at least he wasn't a coward or a fraud. This Siegel guy sounds like a real drip.
I'm torn on the Romney issue. I believe Romney is a person of integrity, and I generally respect his actions even if I disagree with them. Here, he has a point in that the former Iranian president supported terrorism. State sponsored terrorism. Axis of evil, founding member. However, Harvard has a good counterpoint: his visit will facilitate an exchange of ideas and promote dialogue. But if you accept Harvard's argument, where do you draw the line? What if they asked the leader of Hamas to speak? Is there anything to gain by exchanging ideas with some one who advocates killing innocent women and children? I think not.
