Page Tip Line
October 05, 2006 12:13 PM
A few years ago, I took a look at the many gays in the GOP closet for GQ Magazine. That article can be read BY CLICKING HERE.
This morning, Speaker Hastert announced a new page program "tip line."
“As the Speaker I take responsibility for everything in the building," he said. "The buck stops here. The safety and security of the students in the Page program is imperative."
The page program tip line is 866-348-0481.
When you call, the message states:
“Thank you for calling the tip line for the United States House of Representatives. If you have information regarding former Congressman Mark Foley and his contacts or communications with any current or former House Pages, or any other information or concern about the House Page program, please leave your information at the tone. Please speak slowly and clearly, and please spell out any names to which you refer. You are encouraged, but not required, to leave your name and contact information. You should be aware of any information you provide may be referred to federal and state law enforcement authorities and/or to House investigative authorities. Thank you for your call.”

My mind is like a fog. Oh well. My life's been really dull today. Eh. Today was a total loss. I've more or less been doing nothing , but I guess it doesn't bother me.

Today was a complete loss, but oh well. I don't care. So it goes. Nothing going on , but shrug. Not much on my mind these days. Such is life.

My mind is like a void, not that it matters. I've more or less been doing nothing to speak of. I've just been sitting around not getting anything done, but so it goes. Not much on my mind worth mentioning. I've just been letting everything happen without me lately, but it's not important.

M Gibbens,
This is making the rounds from Wayne Madsen Report...
"October 3, 2006 -- Informed sources in Tallahassee, Florida have told WMR that Governor Jeb Bush was fully aware of ex-Rep. Mark Foley's conduct with underage male pages but sat on the information to protect Foley and another top GOP Florida official, Attorney General Charlie Crist, who is currently running for governor to replace Bush. Today, Jeb Bush said he had not previously known about Foley's behavior with the pages before being informed by House Speaker Dennis Hastert in a letter dated October 1, 2006. Bush said he was "dismayed and shocked to learn about Congressman Foley's unacceptable behavior."
However, according to our Florida sources, the FBI and Justice Department informed the Florida Governor's office, Attorney General Crist, and the Florida AG's Child Protection Cybercrime Unit at least a year ago about Foley's predatory emails and instant messages. WMR was told that Crist's conflict-of-interest in the case stems from Crist's and Foley's involvement in gay sex parties, some of which took place during 2003 in trendy Coconut Grove, Florida.
Foley scandal reverberating in Florida gubernatorial race. Left to right: Crist, Foley, and Jeb Bush.
Informed Florida sources claim that up until now, Crist and Jeb Bush have been able to keep a lid on the once-divorced Crist's life style, touting his conservative Christian credentials, but that the Foley revelations will severely impact the Crist gubernatorial campaign. The links between Foley and Crist are certain to harm Crist with his conservative backers who admire Crist for his anti-gay rights stance. Floridians begin early voting on October 23."

Preston makes a very worthwhile point, and one which cannot be stressed strongly enough: pedophilia (or pederasty) is NOT the same as same gender orientation: straights can be pedophiles as well as gays. The public, including some in the MSM, would erroneously equate gay orientation with pedophilia, which would be similar to equating straight orientation with, say, sadomasochism. Aberrant sexual behavior has no correlation with gender orientation. The fact that Foley has "outed" himself and claims to be gay is independent from his pedophilia.

Any reporting of pedophilia should go directly to the city police to avoid editing and coverups by the leadership of Congress.

Let’s also keep in mind that the issue of Foley’s actions isn’t that of “same gender orientation”, but of pedophilia. Let’s not demonize the gay community. Let us address child endangerment and the cover-up of the current congressional leadership.

Isn't this new initiative just another case of "closing the barn door after the horse escapes?"
Posted by: chuck | Oct 5, 2006 1:41:43 PM
I'm would like to report a ethical lapse of the House Leadership and propose that (though this seems a "no-brainer") members of Congress should be mandatory reporters in all instances of child endagerment.

PR STUNT. Shouldn't Hastert do the work to contact pages directly to ensure all is well? It's not like they don't have their contact information...

First a few observations:
1. Foley has been a longtime Florida Congressman.
2. JEBBIE BUSH is a longtime Florida governor, and therefore head of the FL GOP.
3. In my state, the Governor ALWAYS knows where the mines are in the state delegation.
QUESTION: If Denny knew, then JEBBIE knew.
WHEN DID GEORGE KNOW?
