Some interesting stories out there, if you missed them over the Presidents Day Weekend....

Richard Cohen today TAKES ON Mitt Romney...

And on Sunday Dick Polman DID THE SAME to John McCain...

Rory Reid -- the son of the Senate Majority Leader -- SIGNS ON with Hillary Clinton's campaign...Meanwhile, Clinton found herself DENYING TO REPORTERS that the endorsement of state sen. Darrell Jackson (D-SC) last week had anything to do with his $10,000 monthly consulting fee...

The Los Angeles Times ASKED IF BARACK OBAMA TOOK TOO MUCH CREDIT for some community activism on his resume. (The Obama campaign's rapid response can be read HERE)...

Huh....the rough stuff has begun....

I don't see much "rough" stuff here, just good analysis. Pointing out a candidate's oppotunism is exactly what the media should be doing.

As an aside, the Romney religion story is too good to be true. Here is a guy who holds religious beliefs exactly as in-credible, unprovable, and anti-rational as his opponents, yet he is being filleted for it. Kind of like the blind beating the blind. Except to argue for "tolerance," how is Romney supposed to defend himself? His best defense would be "My religion is no more fabricated than yours," but he's not likely to try that one. This is going to be awesome.

Not only has the rough stuff begun, it will only get nastier as time passes. The Clinton/Jackson "arrangement" is only beginning to get the scrutiny it deserves, and, believe me, it looks like it deserves plenty.

McCain's fall from grace is truly sad. I knew he was running a socially conservative campaign, courting The Base. But I had no idea he had completely abandoned crusade for campaign finance reform. What a spineless coward. And how dirty of him to accept money from Sam and Charley.

What's even sadder is the young people whom he engaged in the process back in 2000. He gave them some one to believe in - a reform-minded candidate with ethics. So much for idealism. Hope his dark turn hasn't soured too many on the process.
