Is the Pentagon propagating stories about "Heroes" as fictitious as the NBC hit show? READ MORE HERE.

Thoughts?

Hello Jake Tapper/this one really has me gaggin' at times..I think the "coined" or even the "oil canned" version came about for nothing at all/its a Day in the Life/the evidence that GRABBING for GUSTO is in there somewhere/I myself have met "Great Americans"..I would prefer that Great American's would surface more often..rather than I have to "TOE" GI-joe along his "smelly" job..even the Firemen seem to be a rather brave sort..if you attempt to find a comparison its difficult to get there/HERO/getting there..really..in this day and age/TAKING care of #1--really has more weight in reality..WHY..the un-real(unrelenting)aspect of American Hero's??..its a mystery to me(but then)isn't that POLITICS../?

Misinformation from the Military has been going on since the beginning of time. The only difference is that when it's during a Democratic administration it is accepted as being in the interest of the protection of Nation and cloaked in necessary Military Secrecy. But if a Republican is in charge everyone screams foul and there will be a huge investigation. Not one investigation that has taken place during Bush's Administration including the Gonzales deal (who gave a crap when Clinton fired nearly 100 attorneys?)or wartime "tortures" at Abu Graib is anything new or unusual to American History. It's just more Bush lynching! Read any wartime History if you aren't already well aware that I'm right.

thanks, Jake, for reminding me why I read your blog. Great story. And oh man, it's so ON. Tillman's brother is bringing it. Pay attention America. This is what happens to patriots. Suddenly flag waving isn't so fashionable, is it?

Comments made by Jessica Lynch, and the emerging facts coming from the Army about Pat Tilman's death leave me no doubt about the Pentagon's intent. It's clear that we've been lied to, by the Pentagon and by the president. I don't see this as an issue about "spin" - this is about the Pentagon making things up. Fiction has no place in government, and most especially fiction is tremendously dangerous when it comes to war. Lies only cheapen our military, and the fiction created has certainly weakened our nation's credibility. Our soldiers have offered their lives to fight a thankless war, and this is how our government honors their sacrifices? By lying about them, or what happened to them? I think the larger question that demands an answer is why did they do it? If this war is just, honorable and necessary, why does our government have to make up lies?

The Republicans think this entire war is something they can package and sell to the American people. Their lies are so offensive that it is unbelievable that people are not running in the streets and calling an end to this administration. I hope the American People will not stand for politician’s lies in 2008.

Based on Jessica Lynch's statements and the statements from the family of Pat Tillman, it sure seems that the Pentagon was romanticizing their roles in battle. What will be interesting is to see how the Pentagon responds to today's testimony.
