Ills and Ailes

June 07, 2007 9:13 AM

Dr. Jim Holsinger, President Bush's surgeon general nominee, is in for a bumpy confirmation process. The man who would be the nation's top doc wrote a paper in 1991 trying to make the scientific argument that homosexuality isn't normal or healthy. Good luck selling that to the Senate Health Committee, doctor….Have you met chairman Sen. Ted Kennedy and committee members Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, and Hillary Clinton?

READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE

Or watch the FREE VIDEO FROM GOOD MORNING AMERICA HERE...

Meanwhile Fox News CEO Roger Ailes comments about the Democratic boycott of the Fox News Channel debate... “The candidates that can’t face Fox, can’t face Al Qaeda,” said Ailes. “And that’s what’s coming.”

As of now I believe every Democratic presidential candidate except for Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del, and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, has dropped out.

Thoughts?

I bet 99% of the reporters who have covered this story have not read the paper, and it seems odd to not link to it in a blog entry about said paper. Well, in the interest of being informed before spouting off, here's the paper (courtesy of Slate -- at least someone out there knows what they're talking about): http://www.slate.com/?id=2168279

I did not say ALL of the nominees have been unqualified, just that this is not a new phenomenon

phillygirl64 - I think his two Supreme court picks were the best and highly qualified. 90% of his nominations were very qualified, he mad a few mistakes, but when companies hire people they are not 100% correct. Because you do not like someone doe not make him/her disqualified.

I know he should of nominated his college buddies like Clinton

Pres Bush has nominated more minorities then any other President in History. How many did Clinton nominate ? none

some of the RECENT nominations?! since Jan 2001, this administration has been choosing nominees with minimal regard to their actual qualifications

DKNY - Edwards said it "The War on Terror is just a Bumper sticker"

Posted by: spock | Jun 7, 2007 11:30:08 AM

DKNY - Those were False? Obama's book says he went to the school. The question at fact was whether he went there as a Christian or Muslim. Secondly this came from Hilary's Camp and they just reported what was being said, not whether it was Fact or Not.

DKNY I also suggest you go to that website, (but be sure not to get brainwashed from it) and you should find where they tell the Candidates not to appear on Fox. But lets take you argument that it true (FAR from it though) If they can not overcome that how can they overcome things as President.

The funny thing I find is you liberals say Soros is not behind a lot of this and that he is nobody, but you all seem to know him.

So like I said if they can not overcome what they think is bias how can they be President. How come the Republican can appear on the Far Left Liberal station MSNBC who asked the stupidest question to both Parties.

the libs stand for nothing, and never answer a question straight, take off your blinders and listen to them when a tough question is put forth to them (which is rare) and you will see.

They never have ideas, all they do is bash Bush!

oy, spock, where to begin? No one says terrorists aren't trying to kill us. The Soros media machine? Leave our constitution alone? I can't even respond because you're not even taking positions.

And the one issue you did raise: no candidate declined because of the tough questions they'll get from Fox. As concerns Obama, for example, the fact is, Fox delivered untruthful, and worse, unchecked reports on Obama's having gone to a madrassah. Why should he help their ratings with an appearance?

Posted by: DKNY | Jun 7, 2007 10:49:25 AM

The broadcast channels are not holding the debates yet.

I think his push there was to stress if they think Fox is Conservative (Its not by the way) and they are afraid of a few tough questions how can they stand up to Terrorists. Oh thats right its a Bumper Sticker? Theres no War, Terrorist are not trying to kill us. Its all Bush, Hey I stubbed my toe, Bush did it.

The libs have no ideas, no plans all they do is attack President Bush. What Leaders.

A lot of thoughts here.

So to get appointed to a Presidential appointment you need to agree with Kennedy? What a sad sad world.

What does that have to do with the Surgeon General, Since it supposely is not a health issue.

As far as the Dems on Fox, They were told by Soros media machine not to, there was a information out of Edwards and Obama campaign that stated they were contacted by Moveon to not appear on Fox. The Dems are afraid of real questions,, Come on tell the truth when have they given a non scripted answer, a simple yes or no, or even said Liberty.

What I do not understand is Canada has a lot of space and is looking for people, so why don't the libs move up there and leave our Constitution alone.

Very insightful companion piece, Jake! Mr. Gergen was exactly on point in his analysis of this administration's current nominees by saying "You have to wonder given the quality of some of the nominations that have gone forward recently, whether the selection group in the White House has gone on vacation. There has been a growing criticism of the administration favoring ideology over competence, and this nomination smacks of that."

What appears to me to be most ludicrous is Dr. Holsinger's argument that male-female sexual relations are so "natural" that pipe fittings have been designated accordingly. And THIS is a rationale to condemn homosexual relationships? It's obvious that this nominee is more qualified to clean restrooms in gas stations than to serve as Surgeon General.
