from the Senate all-nighter
July 17, 2007 10:59 PM
So we did World News on this Senate all-nighter (Democrats trying to bring attention to Republicans not permitting a majority up-or-down vote on a troop withdrawal bill -- CLICK HERE FOR FREE VIDEO)…then a Nightline spot about Iraq veterans from both sides of the debate hitting the Hill….
And am now working on a GMA spot….
From an email exchange with a New York-based producer:
9:19 pm FRED: Not sure if this rises to the bar of inclusion in piece… but during Feinstein, Senators were talking, so she asked for order, prompting gavel man to tell them to take their conversations outside… sounded a lot like a high school teacher having to keep kids in line.
9:21 pm JAKE: No offense, and you're a richer man for not knowing this, but that happens maybe 10 times a day
9:22 pm FRED: I need to watch more CSPAN.
9:24 pm JAKE: No offense, and you're a richer man for not knowing this, but it's CSPAN 2.
9:26 pm FRED: Well played, Tapper. Well played.
More in a bit…

Liberal Koolaid at its best,
if the libs in congress allowed Nixon to bomb across the parallel where the enemy was coming from we would of won. I also find it funny that everyone is corrupt that we help as an accusation from libs. But the North Communists were not. (3 million people were slaughtered when we pulled out)
JB - Did you read it? Did you listen to the speeches? If WMD's were the only reason then why are we not in other places? See you libs only point out one item, oh by the way he did have them.
And also read the whole unintelligent report do not pick lines. But See that is another funny item, see when the same people gave the intelligent report on WMD's (which were found) the libs attacked it, but when it says what they want to here they priasie it.
This war is against all terrorists, ok. I find it funny that we tried appeasement for 8 years under Clinton, and what we get - 8 terrorist attacks ending with September 11, 2001.
Oh are we not still in Germany and Japan?
one more note on Vietnam - could of been won, but anyhow it was JFK that got us started there because the French (who seem to be behind all our wars) were defeated.
FYI - this sleepover was planned to go along with George Soros moveon group protest.

I admire a symbolic stand as much as anyone, but hasn't Sen. Reid learned that bills like this aren't going anywhere no matter how many times they're brought before the Senate? I guess I view this exercist in futility as the Senate's version of a pajama/pizza party (especially with the cots and pillows being rolled in) only a LOT less fun.

Mr Spock - Just to clarify a point - "if you were a protester in the 60's clearly you were never a Republican". Are you aware that the war began in the 60's and that LBJ was a democrat? We were not able to vote, we just saw our classmates die and we protested. The US supported a corrupt and inept government in Vietnam and we are now supporting another one in Iraq. We did not lose the war in Vietnam, the Vietnamese people did because they, like the Iraqi's thought that it didn't concern them. They gave little or no support to our troops and our commitment there was over 10 years! That is a big commitment, are you asking that we stay the course another 6 years? It will change nothing until the Iraqi people want it to change. If the Iraqi people do not take this opportunity seriously that is their loss not ours. This is not our war to win - Get It?

Spock - You better ask Scotty to beam you up, you are clearly hysterical!
Good Comments JB!

NO, Mr Spock!
Congress did not authorize the attack because of 17 resolutions. They authorized the attack due to the immediate danger from WMD`s. So not even you can see the manipulation. The only terrorist in Iraq, was Saddam and his sons. Al Qaida was not in Iraq, just another mis truth from Bush. Bush says a year ago Al Qaida is being reduced down to small numbers, and can not function, today we know that was another mis leading, ( lack of intelligence) statement.Al Qaida has grown in numbers, and we are training them in IRAQ. Non of this is Lib talking points, it is how ever the truth! I do not belong to any political party, so wear your colors on your sleeve, and hope we never get attacked here again. There will be nobody else to blame but the good old RED & BLUE.

Ok - First more history -
Pres Bush and Congress authorize use of force against Hussein due to him breaking 17 resolutions of a truce.
He supported terrorists
What False info are you talking about?
Posted by: spock | Jul 18, 2007 3:32:16 PM
JB - Stop Reading the Lib talking points - What Lies??? Since I do not know what lie you are talking about I can not correct you.
Are you saying there is no war on terror, well I think 9/11 and all the attacks in the 90's proves you wrong, Though I think we should word it truthfully as World War III. This war is going to have many fronts and battlefields and is going to last a long time, especially with there being appeasers here.
A little history - There is more then one Terrorist Organization out there. Al Qeada, Hezbollah, Hamas.

My last comments are to Spock, not WM. Sorry

White Mountain:
Lies, Bush hides behind the 5th. War on Terrorism, that now is a war against terrorism in Iraq? Saddam Hussein was doing a much better job keeping IRAN and Terrorist out of Iraq. But in order for Democracy to take hold , the truth about WMD`s had to be manipulated, (just don't tell the truth, by changing the directive)so here we are, based on a oops false information. Fools

White Mountain - ok I just spent 10 minutes typing a response and lost it, I will try again.
First the war in Vietnam is over, this war is not the same. But by the libs forcing us to lose there 3 million women, men and children were slaughtered. Yes the communists did not follow us home, but they did infiltrate the democrat party. In this war if we surrender millions more will be slaughtered, tortured and fed to their parents. AND they will follow us home.
Now the billions of peoples blood come from the following
Germany - 12 million killed because of liberal appeasers holding back from taking out Hitler sooner
Stallingrad (Probably spelt wrong) - unknown millions killed
Under Clinton Appeasement - 800000 Rwanda citizens killed - 600000 Iraqis killed by Chemical weapons, 3000 Americans killed by terrorists
In Africa because the liberal environmentalists - Millions upon millions die every year
You still have not stated a factual lie that President Bush has said.
Know look at what Republicans have done-
Lincoln Freed the Slaves in america
Reagan - Won the Cold War
Bush '43 - Freed over 50 million Muslims from tyranny.
What the Dem/Socialists want is make the US line Cuba A socialized country with an open border.
See appeasing an enemy like these terrorists and Nazi (who actually were allies in WWII) only gives them time to build up, they are not interested in peace.
Look at North Korea with Bush standing strong they decide to close their Nuclear facilities, look at Libya with Bush standing strong turned over all their WMD's and Nuclear facilities.
As sportsman say A strong Offense is a Strong Defense.
The Left Wing Mainstream Press Loves this, they are controlled by the DNC Socialist Party. Their the ones that do not report the truth out of Iraq.

We need a President for the people, that means we need a President to represent the Dems, and one for the Republicans, and one for the independent, and so on. At least then, one cant play God.

Spock-How can you possibly still defend the war in Vietnam? How can you possibly defend this war based on all the lies, bloodshed, and inept policies? I am calling for a voice of reason and reality, that doesn't make me a leftist or a hate monger. What do you mean by the billions of blood on my shoulders? We are all going to have to meet in the middle on these issues and agree to do something about them. Not making a decision is still making one. When this is over and the vote is in. Nothing will be accomplished in the eyes of the press or the administration. Just a "trick" and a ploy! however, we will know how the vote stands and will vote accordingly as is our right.

White Mountain Another thing , please first if you were a protester in the 60's You were never a Republican. Secondly the Lib Dems are the ones that want open borders. So giving them any credit for closing the border shows the propganda.

First there is no chaos in Iraq. Progress is being made, read the news caught another Al Qeada Leader (oops there not there).
Secondly I find it funny that this setup by the libs and George Soros, they hold a staged all nighter together.
Last I heard a filibuster is started by the people opossing the bill. The libs want to change the way goverment works, See they call a filabuster that needs 60 votes to close but then say that it is over needing the 60 votes.
They are propagandist and socialists.
Posted by: spock | Jul 18, 2007 10:25:52 AM
Could someone teach Diane Sawyer how "filibuster" works? And that Sen. Reid is not filibustering his own bill? At least I no longer wonder why so many voters don't get what's going on.

This senate debate has been an "all nighter" for many Americans demanding that their voice be heard. End the war and bring our troops home, NOW! The Republican party continues to chant the same old rethoric, there will be chaos. Wake up - there IS chaos, getting worse by the day. If American lives, blood, commitment, sacrifice and money could change this situation it would be resolved. We cannot change the inept government of Iraq or the hearts of the Iraqi people, they are in the midst of a cival war. It is for the Iraqi to determine how they will live. All Americans fought for their freedom in the revolution, and we fought each other in a civil war to determine that freedom was inclusive of all Americans. This is the torch that must pass to the Iraqi people and their neighbors. What do they want for the middle east?
We need to secure our borders and deal with our own "insurrgents". The 12 million illegal people in this country should go home and demand their governments to change instead of making demands on our government. Clearly if you are in this country illegally you have the right to be deported, not fed, educated and granted healthcare and retirement benefits. It is clear to me that the president and the republican party will not yield or be accountable to the American people. I applaud the democratic party for voicing the concerns of the people and I say that you have accomplished one thing in my home. I will never support the Republican party again - I will vote a straight democratic ticket, something I, a conservative from the heartland, would have never before considered. I am tired of the lies, promises and misrepresentation of the facts.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Albert Einstein
It will take a "grass roots" movement to change the course of this war. I am not as able as I was in the 60's but I will march for what I believe in and protest when those in power have no accountability or credibility. The American people have been lied to and the lies only continue by this administration. What a sham and a shame!
