The Bush women tackle a boy who doesn't like to read
August 09, 2007 3:46 PM
USA Today reports (LINK http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2007-08-08-bush-book_N.htm) that First Lady Laura and First Twin Jenna Bush are co-writing a children's book "about a funny, mischievous second-grader 'who professes not to like books. He says he likes real things,'" says the First Lady.
They claim the idea came from their experiences as teachers.

Personally, I feel safer knowing that Jenna Bush is not charged with defending our nation, KWIM?

The Bush Women are keeping the Bush literary heritage alive from when Big Barb wrote her masterpiece about Millie the White House Dog. Why don't these people write about something important? The Bush Family has done nothing to help fight the "War on Terror"which others have given their lives for. Why doesn't First Twin volunteer to go to Iraq? Other young women have,so what's their excuse? They don't have the National Guard to hide behind like their Daddy did.I find it very interesting to see that neither the Bush Family nor the Romneys(who have 5 military-aged sons) have any members doing any actual fighting or protecting of this nation. It's a sad commentary that these pampered, privileged and self-oriented young people are safe and protected while the children of others who are less affluent are coming home without limbs , or in a pine box. Shame on the Bush Family , and shame on the Romneys

I had what I thought was a rather witty remark all prepared to post here, and then I read Phillygirl64's posting. I need add nothing more, since her comments were perfect.
