It was a joke!
December 04, 2007 9:55 PM
On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" this morning, senior Clinton campaign strategist Mark Penn made a preposterous claim.
Penn insisted that when his campaign tried to depict Barack Obama as a hypocrite -- for saying he hadn't planned for decades to run for president, unlike Hillary Clinton -- by quoting various stories in which he was described as holding such ambitions as early kindergarten, they were just joking.
"Why bring up his kindergarten teacher?" asked host Joe Scarborough (watch HERE).
"Oh, that is so silly." said Penn. "He put out an attack on her, trying to say that she had some 20 year plan, and at the end of a long thing as a joke, the campaign put out that he always wanted to run from kindergarten. It was a joke. And then the spin machines here are so hyped up here about Senator Clinton and her campaign, that -- that someone would pick up on a joke like that and treat it as though it were serious."
Penn called it a "joke at the end of a very long and serious release. Gosh, you guys are so spinnable."
Read it for yourself HERE and judge for yourself.
Personally, I agree that that attack was a joke.
But not in the way Penn means it.

CLINTON SLEAZE WILL INVIGORATE GOP, DISPIRIT DEMOCRATS AND SINK DEMOCRATIC TICKET
.
It is possible that Senator Clinton is the best candidate. However, even though many may like the policies that Senator Clinton proposes, they should also consider her record, just as Senator Clinton insists.
.
The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where assaulting, torturing and murdering people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and to protect the citizenry.
.
Instead, they made a deal with the criminal gang stalker protection rackets to leave them alone and to consequently abandon the citizenry.
.
Do we want a President who sells out the citizenry for votes?
.
Do we want a President who sends a \"crime does pay\" message to society?
.
Would you vote for a President who signed nonaggression deals with the KKKlan or the Nazi party? Gangs that torture with poison and radiation are much like the KKKlan and Nazi Party.
.
We do not need a sellout President. We need a principled leader President.
.
If you are one of the few who do not know what the above refers to, do a web search for “gang stalking” to see the tip of the dirtberg. Please do it before you decide to reply to my post.

Obama is a punk in a suit....he has ZERO cred.
Hillary has so much more experience and leadership qualities it's silly.

HillBilly, the campaign that is, is freaking out. A bunch of junior Clintonistas who'd banked on re-living The West Wing realize the star they're hitched to is actually an anchor and they're really losing it, coming up with garbage - garbage squared, to be more precise - like this.
Sorry, Mark, but come March you're going to have to start looking for real work again. The carnival is leaving town and it's not taking you along, so it's back to the fields for you m'boy.
The Clinton campaign's biggest liability is its candidate. The Obama campaigns greatest strength is its candidate.
Perhaps Al needs to take Hillary aside and tell her that inconvenient truth.

Nice try, Mr. Penn, but no dice. Some "joke," indeed! What will Sen. Clinton's campaign "joke" about next--shouting "Fire!" in a crowded autditorium, perhaps?

Neither of these two have shown anyone that they have the integrity, courage, wisdom, professionalism nor necessary skills to lead this country. We are stuck with choosing the best of the worst.

Clinton looks desperate and in poor judgement. She seems not to be able to find anything substantial to focus on against Obama, and so is slinging all kinds slander on all kinds of non issues. The worse she gets the less I like her.

Morning Joe and his colleagues weren't laughing after Penn essentially called them stupid and humorless on the air.
It didn't help that Penn kept repeating the word "spin" over and over. Simply reinforced the impression that the Clinton campaign is beginning to spin out of control.

If it was a joke, why is the reference to Barack Obama's third grade and kindergarten teachers still (as I write) on The Fact Hub.

Someone woke up and realized just how desperate and ridiculous is and how pathetic Hilary is, so now they say ....uhm I was kidding... no really ha ha get it..Just as Bill says "don't focus on horse race" = Hilary is behind in polls. I hope she continues to unroll like a ball of yarn being played by a kitten
