Hypocrisy Friday
January 25, 2008 10:28 AM
Well, despite his vociferous complaints when a third-party group ran pro-Edwards TV ads in Iowa, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, wakes up to a world where a pro-Obama third-party group is running ads in California for him.
Watch HERE.
"Where's the outrage?" as Bob Dole once said.
Speaking of Dole's outrage, is anyone else amazed at how Camp Obama has let Team Clinton introduce "Rezko" into the political lexicon?
The issue is legit - but what's amazing is to watch the Clintons making insinuations about shady land deals and questionable characters. The Clintons!
Am I the only American left who remembers the campaign finance scandals of the 1990s? Marc Rich? Johnny Chung?
Didn't the Clinton campaign recently have to return close to a million dollars tied to Norman Hsu?
And I can't be certain but I'm fairly sure I remember reading something about someone being impeached?
Man, they must be giggling at HRC HQ.
Do they not have Google in Chicago?
- jt
UPDATE: Just as a reminder, Mr. Obama on December 22 said: "John yesterday said that he didn’t believe in 527s - those are these independent groups that raise money without disclosure, nobody knows who's giving the money, what’s going on. He said I don’t believe in them because this is like any other major loophole in campaign finance reform law. You've got these outside groups that are helping out candidates and it's a way of getting around the campaign finance laws. So he said he's opposed to them - we found out today that there is an outside group spending $750,000- – just bought three quarters of a million dollars worth of television time – and the individual who's running the group used to be John Edwards’s campaign manager. So you can’t say yesterday you don’t believe in 'em, and today you have three quarters of a million dollars being spent for you. You can’t just talk the talk."

Jaker, we do have access to Google in Chicago, contrary to popular opinion. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have access to honest politicians in this campaign--and neither does anyone else!

READ the quote. Obama never said he is opposed to 527s. he knew that hopefund would be supporting him in CA. he is not an idiot. he was calling out Edwards on his extreme hypocrisy for decrying 527s one day and then benefitting from them the next. AND this was a 527 run by his former CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

Who is floating the picture of Bill and Hillary posing with Rezko. Camp Edwards? if it is camp Obama they must be the dumbest people on the planet.
question to jt -why didn't the media do, what used to be their job, and report on the Obama-Rezko ties?

Barack Obama is NOT a muslim. And just because you hillary supporters keep saying it, just like all the other crap her and bill have spewed, doesn't make it true!
Obama said during the SC debate 'let's be honest, none of us up here are clean'. Did you hear hillary or john dispute him on that fact? So he never said he was 'squeaky clean'. NONE OF THEM ARE! He has been calling for better, but no one wants to hear that. All we continue to want is gutter politics. Let's see who can lie the best, who can distort the most, who can be the most dishonest....and that's who should lead the country. Great way to pick a president folks!
Well like Obama, I want something better. The clintons are old news. Why keep looking back instead of looking forward, because its easier to stay in the gutter than to rise above the crap.

Pat, you wrote: "Now people keep bringing back whitewater and all those old stories and the Clintons haters made the government spend millions of dollars investigating to find no wrong doing..."
Kenneth Star's Whitewater Investigation was actually very limited in scope. There are a lot of areas that his investigation never covered. You can easily locate the allegations (albeit allegations, but isn't that what the Clintons are doing to Sen. Obama?) on the Internet. And these allegations don't just involve Bill. Hillary is just as involved in a lot of the "stuff" that went on in Arkansas back in the late 1970s through the early 1990s. And according to several reports some of the Arkansas "stuff" spilled over into the White House. Should Sen. Clinton win the Democratic Party's nomination, the mainstream media will have a difficult time burying the allegations this time around!

You can say all you want about Mrs
Hillary Clinton ( a true CHRISTIAN )
I rather have Her for PRESIDENT and

Barack Obama clean? give me a break! who launched his candidacy, who have been his supporters for 17 years, who he has sponsored, endorsed in Illinois? We here in Illinois know that well. The Madigan's, the Blogojevich's, the Dalay's, the Stroggers corrupted machines in Illinois and Chicago. The same machines that the Feds have been investigating for years and finally some are going to trial, those are the same people he will bring to Washington!

I am with Steve. How much of the "returned donations" actually were returned? The Chung and Hsu monies were suposedly returned, (with great fanfare) but how do you return a donation from a nonexistant person? What happens to that money? Is it donated? Does it go to the government as unclaimed funds? Is it used to purchase land in Whitewater?

Ah and by the way, Norman Hsu also contributed thousands of dollars to the Obama campaign, Reid campaign, Kerry campaign, etc.
Now people keep bringing back whitewater and all those old stories and the Clintons haters made the government spend millions of dollars investigating to find no wrong doing; now not to denied that the Clintons like many poiliticians have had some undesirable people around them; but same has Obama...nobody is making this up!, the facts are out there and for him to go out there and say he is the only one, he is the pure one, thats a lie and he knows it; he knows that the political machine that laucnhed his candidacy is a corrupt one! they have done everything here in Illinois for years, the Rezko case is nothing, even tho the fixer case involves not just fundrising; but laundry money, shady deals, etc.etc, this guy the fixer was just not only a fund riser for Obama and who knows...all those facts will come up during the trial and we'll see the true. What the Obama campaign trying now is take the focus off the Rezko issue but is to late. The Obama people like Blogojevich the Governor have a lot explain to do.
Now, very soon I hope the people in the country will have the chance to know "on time" more about Obama associates, his campaigns strategists and their affiliations and tacticts like the one with the 527 in California. Didn't Obama went all out chastisating Edawrds for not taking any action agains the 527 group runnings ads in Iowa????? Obama was furious about it; well we knew then that his campaign had the same type of 527 groups in California dn other states and where is Obama now? why is he not talking about it? why his surrogates are even try now to cover this and also his relationship with Rezko and even sending out to the news media photos of the DNC event back in 2001 in Chicago when President Clinton visited Chicago and Rezko took one standing picture with them...what are they trying to do here? maybe mislead people or take the conversation off thier focus? it wont work in this case! but that's a new LOW of the Obama's campaign dirty tacticts and counterpunching.
The so called campaign of HOPE and CHANGE is all a Big Hypocrisy!!!!

Barack Obama wanted to stay above the fray. It's upsetting to watch the Clinton's 'ghettoize' Obama. I am a registered Republican in Ohio. I want to vote for Obama because I think he actually wanted to try and work together on issues. I will vote against Hillary in the general. Rest assured that the Republicans will bring out all of Hillary and Bill's trash. Republicans hate Hillary and she will energize the Republican base in a way that she just might lose. While the Republicans are showing up to vote against her then they'll be voting Republican on all of those house and senate seats. The country is going to lose a big chance to try and unite.

So no one has seen the picture of the hillbillies with rezko yet? lol this campaign is getting totally ridiculous! the hillbilly clintons are a pack of liars, and you sheeple want to put them BACK in the white house, go figure!
the clintons pulled their negative ad, why? did they forget about the rezko picture? did they also forget about the 'positive' comments they have made about reagan in the past? did all you people forget about just how deceitful and dishonest the clintons are??
It has been well over two weeks and I'm still waiting for someone to clarify the 35 years of experience the lying airbag says she has!
I find it laughable that blacks and hispanics have fallen for the clinton's bs. It truly is easy, ain't it?!
LOL

Hillary returns close to a million dollars. TO WHO? would it happen to be the "charity" that runs the Bill Clinton Library? Investigate further Jake.

It’s unthinkable what Obama would do if he were president and faced a delicate and extreme situation about other people blowing up something of ours.

Obama and Edwards are too outspoken and now it shows. Something wonderful about Obama is his arrogance. His wishy-washy style of politics – his past of maybe even more scandals than the Clintons have been associated with: there’s his befriending Rezko when his besmudged name was all over the news. Obama’s great inconsistency about voting to enter Iraq. His continued identification with republican ways. His questionable behavior that when brought up, he simply denies – like the wishy-washy, haphazard, below-standard, inexperienced politician that he is. (I’d rather have Hillary back in the white house than someone has quaky as Obama.)

The issue with Rezko is not so much what Rezko did for Obama. Let's face it, most politicians have some some shady benefactors in their past.
1)Why is Obama trying to make out that he's squeaky clean unlike all other politicians, when the record shows he did the same stuff to advance his career; and 2) as the Chicago newspaper pointed out why hasn't Obama just acknowledged his connection to Rezko in a straightforward way instead of saying "he knows the guy". Obama has made Rezko an issue by not being forthright.

Norman Hsu? How about the poverty level cooks and dishwashers giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to Hillary?
or how about the fact we have no idea how many ex-cons, foreign dictators, etc have given millions to the Clinton Library?
It seems like the press is putting unusal scrutiny on Obama while failing to insist the Clintons come clean on their donations. How can a candidate for the President of the United States of America, say we'll we agreed not to release their names if the gave us a 7 or 8 figure check to the Library!
This is madness.

Uh oh, looks like Mr Squeaky Clean, ain't so squeaky clean. So much for positive "change". Obama is toast on Feb 5.
