Oh what a night!
January 04, 2008 8:45 AM
From Huckabee HQ…
It started with a prayer circle...
...then shifted to a prediction of victory...
...then turned to an explanation of victory...
...then evolved into a jubilant candidate on a Huckaplane bound for New HuckaHampshire.
Did you watch the festivities? What did you think?

Just read that ABC is restricting participation in next debate cycle in NH. How in the world can this be justified after a single mid-western state has had a caucus? With current rationale, Huckabee probably would have been left off of debates 3 months ago. Shame, shame. Instance of media shaping our choices.

Did anyone also notice how Edwards brought up his wife, even thou he said he was not going to use it as a political tool?

Spock, as for California's health care bill, it passed the Assembly and now goes to the Senate, where it is expected to pass. Then the California voters will have to vote on the initiative. This is a nightmare of a bill! It forces everyone to have medical insurance. But the bill has no caps on premiums, no regulation of the cost of insurance or medical expense, no maximum deductibles, and no floor on how little coverage you can buy in order to satisfy the legal requirement. And guess what? The bill does not even provide for funding of the program. Although there is a promise to raise the tax on cigarettes an additional $1-$2 per pack; to tax hospitals (say what?); and to require employers to provide at least a portion of their employees' premiums. But the craziest part of the bill is if the California Director of Finance determines that the state cannot afford all the promises made in the bill, apparently, the bill goes away!!!! I wish I could say, "Only in California!" But this "Liberalism gone amuck" is spreading throughout the country.

Spock: "Not one of the recent presidents have ever won Iowa?"
What about the current one?

Edwards is far worse then any of the Socialists. then Obama and then Hilary.
Solution to the Health care issue in this country is simple GET RID of the Ambulance Chasing Lawyers! oh thats right Edwards would not be a millionaire then!

James Danley - You are so right, but at the end you said a short step to controlling what you say and think, They already do that, with the Political Correctness, the Congress trying to unconstitutionally Censor a citizen.
Edwards left out the thousands who die in countries that have his so called socialized medicine.
I feel sorry for NH. for what they are going to be hit with now.
But if people look at history not one of the recent presidents have ever won Iowa, I think looking at Iowa tells us who is not going to win!
oh yes they also tell us what we can eat too, look at NYC.
Now back to Nataline Sarkisian - She was being kept alive on Life Support in a Vegatative state, Life support was pulled voluntarily. She also had Leukemia, The question that needs to be asked is would the liver of fixed her vegatative state, I do not think so.
Socialized Medicine would of made her wait months just look at Britain so the solution is not there. The libs argued in Florida that someone in a vegatative state would not survive, but yet in California someone would. Also did not California pass something for socialized medicine in the state?
Sadly the Girl died, but she had Leukemia which has no cure.
God bless her family, but the libs can go to you know where for using them as a political tool without even giving the history.

Here's the problem w/the whole Nataline story - most people do not realize what insurance does and does not cover; they've probably never even read their contracts... experimental procedures are usually excluded...I extend my sympathies to her family, but unfortunately, the insurance company is bound by the terms of the insurance contract...they did decide to make an exception later on, which unfortunately came too late, but there is no guarantee that the surgery would have saved or even helped her

First of all, as I mentioned a few days ago, all this hype for what? On the Democratic side: Obama has 17 delegates; Edwards has 14 delegates; Clinton has 14 delegates. And that's out of a possible 4,051 delegates(4,417 if sanctions are lifted). On the Republican side: Huckabee has ZERO delegates; Romney has ZERO delegates; Thompson has ZERO delegates; McCain has ZERO delegates. And that's out of a possible 2,380 delegates (2,516 if sanctions are lifted).
Now then did anyone catch John Edwards' speech last night? His own words prove that the issue of 47 milllion Americans being without medical insurance is just a red herring. He brought up the case involving Nataline Sarkisian. Here is John Edwards' quote: "...just a few weeks ago in America, Nataline Sarkisian, a 17- year-old girl who had a -- needed a liver transplant, and whose insurance company decided they wouldn’t pay for her liver transplant operation. Finally, her nurses spoke up on her behalf. Her doctors spoke up on her behalf. Ultimately, the American people spoke up on her behalf by marching and picketing in front of her health insurance carrier. And, finally, the insurance carrier caved in and agreed to pay for her operation. And when they notified the family just a few hours later, she died. She lost her life. Why? Why?"
Nataline HAD medical insurance. But that isn't enough. WAKE UP AMERICA! Edwards, Obama, Clinton and the Liberals won't be happy until they have eliminated private medical insurance and replaced it with a federally run womb-to-tomb universal health care program. And to pay for it they will decimate Corporate America and small businesses by stifling their ability to make profits; and raise YOUR taxes. That will suffocate our economy. But even far worse, it will allow the federal government to control what you eat, what you drink and how you look. And from there it is a very short step to the federal government controlling what you say and what you think!
