Sharing

January 05, 2008 7:47 PM

Former President Bill Clinton in Bow, N.H., Saturday, was asked by a voter to share something about his wife that voters should know about, but don't.

"Something about Hillary you don't know?" he said, laughing. "Well, I was laughing. I read a book the other day on my presidency I never had seen before. I picked it up, and this guy in that book said that, in 1994-95, someone had done a survey of the 10 most vilified people by right-wing talk radio, and that Hillary and I were ranked first and second, far ahead of Saddam Hussein. I'm not sure that everybody knows she was completely exonerated of all the charges that were leveled against her in the White House. Even by Kenneth Starr, who was a very political prosecutor."

Somehow -- with the Clinton campaign concerned about voters not getting a real sense of Sen. Hillary Clinton -- I don't feel like that's what the voter was driving at.

Enough crap about change. First question to the candidates -what would they do if Iran attacked our ships likely they nearly did on Sunday? Huh Barak??????

Kind of feeds into the marriage of convenience theory of the Clintons.

Wow. It's really amazing how the press built up Hillary and now are tearing her down to support Obama. It'd be comical if it wasn't so sad how much power the media has to control the political process.

Hillary's statement, "making change is not about what you believe, rather it is about hard work". I find it typical of her and the democrats to avoid stating what they believe.

I hope that people were listening last night when Hillary noted that she has already begun looking seriously at a possible nuclear attack here and that this would probably come from a 'stateless' group. She is so out front of the other candidates in her thinking....an orator can fire up support but it is the candidate who projects and plans for the future who will get the job done. And isn't it time we gave up this double standard for behavior of women....in case no one has noticed today's woman doesn't keep quiet and ask permission to speak her mind....grow up America and start asking Obama the tough followup questions. And thanks to the ABC news team for this opportunity to speak out.

At least Hillary has shown that she can take fire from the media and Republicans. She can also dish it out. The entire time Hillary has recieved fire from everybody, nobody ever puts the spotlight on Obama. How are we supposed to know how he'll react to the Republican siege machine?
I want a canidate who is tested and tough and skilled in political intrigue. Hillary has those qualifictations, plus it's a two for one deal, you get Bill, who will no doubt be her closest political advisor.

watched the debate, ABC did an excellent job, loved the format. As a woman, I was dissapointed in Hillary's response to being accused of "status quote". If she gets that upset with something so mundane, I'm not real apt to trust her with being stable enough to be president. She lost my vote.

I get weary of the rediculous characterizations of Hillary Clinton's way of being...First, she was accused of not being able to mix it up with the boys....now she is being accused of being inappropriate in an opposite direction.. It is time for people in general to grow up in the way they assess a candidate. It is like you have NEVER been around a woman that has been in a position of power. It is one thing to disagree with her about an issue....it is another thing to say she is wrong because you didn't like the tone of her voice. What does truth sound like to you?

One should remember that the Republican controlled House and Senate with George Bush leading the way has given us a trillion dollar deficit, a tanked economy and to think that the Republicans didn't look under every rock for any dirt they could find on the Clintons is a joke.

I have heard change from both sides tonight. Although, change is important
I think responsible government for all the people in our US is more important. The president has limited power. I put most of the blame on a do nothing congress!

Hilary is the only qualified candidate. She has a track record. She knows what and how much it takes to get the real work done. Those who have no real experience and claim that they will give what the people want may prove to be just lip service for getting nominated. They make the president's job too easy. It sounds like if such a person elected to be a president, everyone would get money the next day. If everyone supports change, then vote for Hilary, vote to have the first woman president, who really has the quality to be a president.

Yes, Bill Clinton needs to "keep talking" and Hill needs to do the same, making her/his campaign a one-two punch to the liberal gut.

Posted by: Katrina | Jan 5, 2008 10:46:46 PM

Mary-lou, it was actually the Republican controlled Congress that turned the budget deficits into surpluses.

Posted by: James Danley | Jan 5, 2008 9:57:17 PM

The best thing for Republicans is for Bill Clinton to keep talking.

Hillary is ready to put us back on track. She will get the peoples votes, by leting the country know her husband is the only president who got us out of debit beside what in did behind close doors is really not what the people need to focus on what was done to help our country she stood by her marriage no matter what that's what most marriage don't do anymore we all are not perfect and make bad choices but learn and move on.i'm a mother of three beautiful daughters and my children and grandchild will have nothing to look forward too. if we don't get someone thats gonna pull out of debit.

President Clinton said, "I'm not sure that everybody knows she was completely exonerated of all the charges that were leveled against her in the White House. Even by Kenneth Starr, who was a very political prosecutor."

Actually Kenneth Starr's limited investigation did not cover some allegations that have seen very little light of day. No doubt the bright lights will be on these should Sen. Clinton win the Democratic Party's nomination.
