The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 4 Hillary

January 14, 2008 2:06 PM

There must be something in the air. Coming off Giuliani's Voight-related announcement just hours ago, the Clinton campaign is seeing his Midnight Cowboy and raising an Ugly Betty and a Joan of Arcadia.

Actresses America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn, endorsing Sen. Hillary Clinton, will be "national co-chairs of 'HillBlazers,' the campaign's youth outreach program and will campaign on behalf of Hillary in key states, including Nevada, the Clinton release states.

They'll campaign in Vegas for Clinton this week.

"This election is too important to stand on the sidelines, especially for my generation. I look forward to rallying young people to use their voices and get involved. I believe that Hillary Clinton can turn this country around," said Ferrera. "I am confident she will be a champion for young women and men across the country."

"I'm concerned about the direction of our country and young Americans need to think about which candidate can make the most positive impact for our nation's future," said Tamblyn. "Young voters know that Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who has the experience to bring about change, and I'm excited to campaign for her wherever and whenever I can."

"I am honored to receive America and Amber's support," said Clinton. "They are great role models for so many young women in our nation. I'm delighted that they will be joining us to help bring change to our nation."

As goes Amber … so goes America.

SOME PEOPLE ARE TAKING ABOUT BARRACK OBAMA DRUG USE WHEN HE WAS A TEENAGER, THAT HE ADMITTED TO. HE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE, WHO HAS ADMITTED HE HAS MADE WRONG DECISONS IN LIFE. EVERYBODY HAS DONE SOMETHING WRONG. WE ALL WERE BORN SINNERS, UNTIL WE BECAME SAVED. I KNOW ALL OF THE CANDIDATE HAVE DONE SOMETHING, THEIR JUST NOT GOING TO ADMITT IT. REMEMBER IN THE BIBLE, THOSE PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO STONE THAT WOMAN. WHAT DID JESUS SAY, THOSE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.

The Clintons, at one time, had pretty much all of Hollywood locked up. In 2007, though, one of their old Hollywood big-money boys turned and ran. Oprah jumped ship. These days, Huckabee is jamming with the band on more shows than Bill. I expect Hillary to come up with some Hollywood support. I expect that it will sway some voters, and I am not so smug as to deny the vote to people who are swayed by it. In this country, a 19-year old 'Ugly Betty' fan's vote counts as much as a law professor's. I am struck, however, at the attrition in Hollywood support on the Clinton side. In almost every way, we are seeing the calendar turn from 1992 to the 21st century--right before our eyes.

I think it's great that these girls are coming out and support Hillary Clinton. It's interesting because I am a supporter for Edwards- so far anyway- but I have 3 daughters ranging from ages 19 to 33. And all 3 of them watch Ugly Betty. So needless to say- die hard fans.
I'm very interested to see what these smart young actresses have to say about Mrs. Clinton- and interested to see if my daughters will follow them. My guess? They will.

This is funny, Famous actor/actresses do not really persuade peoples votes, but who are these girls?? I presumed they starred in a movie, but what movie?

Now Jon Voight is famous (oh and very lucky guy for getting to kiss JLo in Anaconda), but see he is probably more important because in the past he supported the Dems, but changed opinions recently.

But I am getting tired of hearing these movie stars political opinions.

There is something in the air, Jake, and it's not olfactorily pleasing. The question on everyone's mind and which the media has yet to answer, though, is who Brad and Angelina will endorse for President. Well, Jake? We're waiting....
