Bill Clinton: "If You Elect Me" (I'm Speaking as Her)
February 25, 2008 3:37 PM
For a natural-born politician such as former President Bill Clinton, it may be tough to spend so much time talking about someone else.
For that reason, he has assumed an interesting way of speaking from the stump whilst campaigning for his wife.
He precedes a pitch by saying something along the lines of "This is what my wife says" and then he launches full-throttle into the pitch.
It can get confusing if you tune out for a second.
Today in Portsmouth, Ohio, he said, "So Hillary says, in 2005, the United States Congress adopted the Bush-Cheney energy bill, which gave $27 billion in subsidies to nuclear, oil, and gas and coal. The only thing that was justified was clean coal, because countries are going to be using that. We have to figure out how to take the carbon dioxide out of it. The rest of it is waste. If you elect me, I'll repeal those subsidies. And put them into a strategic energy fund that will create American jobs for America's future with clean energy."
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
If you coughed and missed the "Hillary says" in that sentence you might be surprised when he reaches the "if you elect me" part of the pitch more than 60 words later.
Because after all he's not running for anything.
Right?

Hillary has no more experience than Obama. She's finished.

Hillary and Bill are both power hungry. She's toast.

Jacksmith,
If you think that the most divisive politician in America can beat John McCain, you must be an idiot.
If you think that a movement that has garnered an unprecedented ONE MILLION SMALL DONORS is not real, you must be an idiot.
If you think that Obama's judgment and temperament don't make him far more suitable to occupy the White House than Hillary or McCain, you must be an idiot.
If you think the "master politicians" Bill and Hillary are better able to bring about change when they cannot run a competent primary campaign, you must be an idiot.
If you think Hillary Clinton's vote to send us to a totally unnecessary war of choice qualifies her to be the best person to end that war, you must be an idiot.
If you think a WIFE absorbs all the qualities and experiences of a husband, you must be an idiot.

Jake another post if you saw MSNBC, ( I was clicking through channels) Overbite had a woman on that works for Obama, saying that any political attack on Obama could be used as a Racist attack. So Obama is going to play the Race card, every time his stances come under attack he will claim racism, We saw it already when bill made an innocent comment about his views on the world being a Fairytale.
Come on Obama is a Racist and that is all there is to it!

Bill is running scared. His Foundation has accepted so much Arab money on the premise that his wife would be in the Whitehouse that he cannot see a way out.
That couple is already bought by foreign concerns.
At least our tax dollars won't go for the constant cleaning of the Lincoln bedroom.

jacksmith - Well your right about Obama I will give you that, but 100% wrong about Hilary too.
Universal Health care is a socialistic tool for control, it will not work, it will destroy our health system
Our Economy is on the verge of collapse, well then it must of been destroyed during the Clinton years. Since unemployment is lower then it was under Clinton and that is with more illegals here now. Stock market is higher then during the Clinton's. and by the way Clinton was riding the wave from Reagan Economic plans, not his own.
Wrong again on enviroment, lets see Pres. Bush has done more, Nixon did the most. Oh and by the way If you believe in man-made Global warming, you must be an idiot!
If you believe Bill did anything for education you must be an idiot.
If you think Bill who brought disgrace to this country and the Presidency and ran us into a recession and stood idly by when millions were being killed is on record for being one of the Greatest Presidents you REALLY are an IDIOT who does not see pass idealogical blinders.
Now if you think Hilary or Obama would even make a good President You must be an Idiot!!

He was a Senator a whole 2 YEARS before launching his presidential bid so one may conclude that his votes in the Senate were with a White House run in mind- even so he ranked 16th and 10th most liberal the first two years (according to National Journal' 27th Annual ratings- NOT Wikipedia). BUT WAIT, in anticipating becoming the "uniting change agent", last year his votes earned him the #1 spot as the most liberal Senator...who exactly, other than Edward Kennedy, is going to "unite" with him now?

Ok we can blamed Hillary for supporting Bill Clinton in his many trade agreements etc...But if you were in the shoes of Hillary when Bill is the president what will you do? Openly criticized his action or stand together and support his decision - this is what a first lady should do. Now we should judge her based on what she can deliver, at least she had some clear opinions when it comes to passing bills etc unlike Obama. Being a highly educated individual and working for a fortune 20 company we are always press for resolute ans and solutions for the betterment of the organisation growth. People who blame trade agreement as a cause of their job lost "SHAME ON YOU" ask yourself have you done anything to upgrade your skill sets for the betterment of your own future. Relying on Govt action itself can't help much -it take both way to work, simply having a recipient does not aid a society, this is what happen when a country deeply rely on welfare to tide them through difficult times. Citizens are complaining abt "high tution fees" but as I am an international students I dont see why are fellow Americans are complaining - I paid a tution fees of $45k for my 2 yrs in college and with accomodation I ended up paying 90k-100k, this comes from family values and a mentality in saving for the future. Thus I will vote for Hillary or McCain, Vote with your thoughts and not with your emotion. Vote what is right for American not by race.

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..
Best regards

Jake - Are you going to put a post up about Obama - Rezko and now the Iraqi Muslim Billionaire from England that donate millions to Obama.
Becasue the slip of the tongue from Bill is a no news issue.

I would love ABC to examine the candidate's positions on OUTSOURCING and Offshoring of jobs. Hillary has been a big supporter of increasing H1B visas. Worse than H1B visas is the abuse of L-1 visas where foreign labor is technically transferred to U.S. to fill jobs at reduced rates. It is killing people in the Information Technology field.

Come on! He's been running from the get-go. He is clearly the talent in this team. Why else would Hillary tolerate his infidelity given what a liability it is? Hillary can scream sexism all she likes but it won't change the fact that Bill is hugely better at it than she is. He is talent incarnate but what came as a suprise to the party insiders is it is not incarnate enough. What made Bill lose his South Carolina temper with Obama wasn't Obama, it's Hillary and her people's ineptitude costing him this election. That right there suddenly listed Bill as the same rank amateur Hillary is. I could hear the DNC going "whoa buddy" all the way from here.

Well . . . I suspected all along he was running. This just validated my suspicions. And I'm so sick and tired of him wagging and/or pointing that finger at me, I can't stand it!

VERY telling slip of tongue. As far as I recall, we've limited the Presidency to 8 years. 16 years of Bill/Hillary would be too much!!

Clinton's freudian ego working overtime?

The one thing that amazes me the most about this campaign is the way the blacks have abandoned the very people that worked so hard for them in the past. I am not convinced the Clintons are racists but, so they have been marked by the black community. I have talked to some as to why and the answer I get is astounding. They automatically start to talk about racial injustice in this country and they think Obama will change all that. I don't know about the rest of you but, I don't believe one person is going to wave a hand and all sins in our past go away. Yes, it will help to make a statement that we are willing to become as one in a nation of color but, don't expect things to change overnight. And please don't become too agressive in your desire for change as I am already hearing rumblings from far to many on this subject. Yes, this has become an election about race more than I had hoped.

JtheJedit asked:
"Since then he's done..? ... Please tell me how he brings people together & "change" to Washington when his record is more polarizing than Kennedy?"
I'll take the bait...
Obama worked with Senator Richard Lugar (R) to expand the Nunn-Lugar nuclear security measures to include things like anti-aircraft weapons. The Obama-Lugar bill is a concret step forward in fighting terrorism, which I think both Democrats and Republicans can agree on.
Obama worked with Senator Coburn (R) to pass the "Google for government" bill, which makes information on contracts awarded by the federal government available and searchable online. This is a big step forward in improving the transparency and accountability of government, which has become a major problem in recent years.
Obama worked with Senator McCain (R) on ethics reform. I'm not sure if legislation has come out of this, but Obama demonstrated once again he was able to work constructively with Republicans on important issues.
Of course, you can find all of this information after just a few seconds on Wikipedia, something I encourage everyone to do. I don't support Obama because of his admittedly pretty speeches... I support him because I believe he has good judgement and the ability to get things done.
I don't vote with my heart, I vote with my head. Go Obama!

Is it biased reporting to show Hillary for who she is? I believe she is what she is long before any mdeia coverage of this election. It's clear that the media only reports what most of know about Hillary--she'll do whatever it take to win, whether by deceit, falsehoods, and vicious attacks. We've all seen this before. In contrast, there isn't much on Obama and hence what's there to report?
Media makes money by reporting news that we want to hear or find interesting. I don't think it's any coincidence that negative reports on Hilliary is on the rise as most people do not like Hilliary and wish both Clintons to relegate themselves to history and move on. If most people find Hillary in positive light then the reporting would be very different as all media need attentive consumers to purchase the products they push on air. It's called capitalism and Hillary supporters should see the writing on the all and finally concede that it's over. It wasn't the campaign. It was the candidate stupid.
