Clinton's New Anti-Obama Mailer
February 17, 2008 2:08 PM
"Barack Obama, Which of These People Don't Deserve Health Care?" asks a new campaign mailer in Wisconsin for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, with a picture of seven voters -- a diverse group, as if Benetton also made clothes for retirees.
You can read the mailer HERE.
"Barack Obama's Health Care Plan Leaves 15 Million Americans Without Coverage," says the second page. Then, ominously: "Will It Be You?"
The mailer says "Obama's Plan Says 'No We Can't'" ... and also accuses the plan of "wast(ing) billions, costing taxpayers $1700 more per newly covered person," accuses Obama of having "launched 'Harry and Louise' type attacks on Hillary's plan ... using Republican and insurance company talking points..."
And also, comes the obligatory critical quote from New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, a strong critic of Obama, who accused Obama in one column of "unscrupulous demagoguery." Another side of the mailer provides more of the Krugman quote.
We will provide a more thorough fact check of the mailer in a bit ...
On first blush, the main charge seems misleading, since what leaves people uninsured under Obama's plan is the lack of a mandate requiring them to sign up for health insurance with the threat of a penalty. So it's the people themselves who will decided if they're left out -- not Obama.
But more later...

UPDATE: We took a more thorough look at the mailer HERE.

BUYING THE PRESIDENCY OF THE U.S. ...
How many of the 1.5 people who sent $200 to Obama's campaign were black? Is it possible that a group which comprises about 15% of the population in America could rule the other 85% simply by buying the election via contributions from 1.5 million people, in a country of 300 million people?

Since Obama is virtually buying the Presidency of the United States, Has anybody actully investigated the origin of Obama's hundreds of millions of dollars? We are told that it's coming from individual's small donations via the internet, but how do we know it's not origianally coming from radical sources, or even from overseas interests?

I am SHOCKED that it took over a month for Senator Obama to finally say something about his pastor. This is the same pastor that Senator Obama supports through his regular tithing! The Senator family donates thousand of dollars to this church annually. That means he support his pastor''s RACIAL overtones and revolutionary statements of overthrowing America. Who does Senator Obama think he's trying to fool and what is he trying to hide? Why is he openly, freely, and devotedly donated all that money to a cause if he doesn''t believe in it? Why is Senator Obama lying to America? This is as bad as Senator Obama still accepting all that money from his crooked land developer that he supposedly hasn't seen nor talked to in years? Sure doesn''t sound like a real devoted Christian man to me? Wonder who he and Michelle are praying to everynight?

it is shameful that obama is using these attack ads to demonize universal (government-mandated) healthcare. healthcare should be a human right and it should be automatically available to every citizen. even more shameful is how obama responds to clinton's criticism. basically, obama has deflected attention away from the policies by saying that clinton's attack is only because of campaign politics. newsflash:it was only because of campaign politics that obama found it within himself to demonize the cause of universal health care. obama is trying to ride a wave without any substance. shame on obama for using these distortionary tactics. clinton is absolutely right to vigorously reject obama's trashy politics on healthcare.

EXPERIENCE IS WHAT MAKES CHANGE! WE DON'T NEED A TRAINEE IN THE WHITEHOUSE WE NEED SOMEONE THAT IS READY TO FIGHT FOR US. SOMEONE THAT KNOWS THE ROPES. A WOMEN WITH A HEART. NOT SOME CULT LEADER. ANYONE CAN BE A GOOD SPEAKER IN PUBLIC BUT NOT EVERYONE CAN RUN THE WHITE HOUSE.

The Clinton campaign didn't have a healthcare plan before it felled and they don't have one now. Well to be honest, if everyone is a goverment employee, then the Clinton healthcare plan will work for everyone. Unfortunately some are self employed, independent contractors or work for private employors or small business. Under the Clinton healthcare plan these people would be penalized if they don't pay for their healthcare. This means that most of your family members and friends will have their paychecks garnished. We all know that it doesn't stop there if it is a goverment enforcement. There will be fines and then misdemeanors which is a criminal offense defined as less serious than a felony. Why did Ms. Clinton decide on this approach? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. Big business, big Corporation call it what you will, they want their money back and in order for Ms. Clinton to get their support in her race to presidency she is giving victory to one side (the healthcare providers) by promising to them that she will have the poeople wages garnished if they continue to give healthcare. Thus allowing her to shout the words "UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE" This is a shady tactic and makes fools out of every american that falls for this trick. The Obama healthcare plan is for the people. Poor people, middle class and rich people can rest assured that there is no tricks or penalties in the Obama healthcare plan. VOTE OBAMA

Hillary's plan couldn't get passed before, so why would it now?
Obama's plan will cost the rest of us with health insurance with another tax, or fee, or whatever they want to call it.
National healthcare is not what it's cracked up to be. Let's just hope they both aren't including illegal aliens in this plan just to get their vote. They already crawl across the border to have their babies here just to collect welfare. If we didn't have to pay for all these millions of illegals, maybe healthcare could be affordable for the rest of us.
Good jobs here in America with healthcare plans would help a lot more than either one of their plans.
I'm voting for John McCain to keep our taxes down and make the current tax cuts permanent. By the way, this current President is giving us this tax break and to some families, a tax rebate. I don't see either Democrat announcing anything like that. Obama and Hillary want to tax us more if you are a working American.

If we are all gullible Obama will sweep the country based on copy cat speeches previously given by the Governor of Massachusetts and his campaign manager John Walsh.
At least with Hillary you get what you see and hear and not some make believe candidate.....

Let's just stop and think. Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama are candidates for the Democrat nomination to run for US President.
JFK was never a governor, Regan never had Foreign Policy experience, Nixon was an expert on Foreign policy but not on National issues.
Bubba our current Pres had never traveled out of the USA until he became Prez, and quite frankly is an ace shy of a full deck, his baseball team was a failure. (lack of leadership)
Now we all know about Condileeza who shows no knowledge in foreign policy, the one brain they had was Colin Powell and he did not suck up so they dismissed him.
McCann is really mentally deficient if he thinks we can keep troops in Iraq for 100 years, that should turn off Repugnants. The Democrats have two viable candidates one from the past who is sure to have a husband out of control, and one form the present who is well educated, articulate, knowledgeable and wise enough to surround himself with smart people. Bush went back and got his daddy's people, and clinton will go back and get her Husbands people. THe same old Washington.
I am tired of the old white haired aging leadership that have nothing to lose because they have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peeling.
Give me a man with young children, that is brilliant and will look out for their future which means he will look out for mine.
Forget color and sex, Senator Obama can sit with Iranians, Africans, Europeans and yes Cubans and talk and represent and protect America. This is our last chance to gain the ground we lost under Regan and Bush....remember what happens tin America. Now is not the time to be devisive and dumb. We need to stick together and Unite for a better America, not a White American or a Black America.

Everyone seems to forget that Senator Clinton had a Health Care Package when Hubby was President and the two of them could not get it passed.
So soon we forget.....how can she do it now????????????

GO OBAMA 08'

I am a woman and would like to see a woman president. I have been following the whole campaign and from what I have seen, I would have voted Hilary, but for her last name: CLINTON, just sends shivers down my spine.

The Clintons go on the attack. It's weird that they see political self-interest as more important than the outcome for the country.

It is a well known thing amongst the democrtas now that - Employee within the Clinton camps have been told, you had better do all this or you are fired. When asked to do what here was the answer." Use all media information available to damage Obama". An employee in Ohio a friend of mine had sworn to vote Obama from the darkness in this campaign. When Camera was with her in the plane, she was shown to be servicing snacks to employee. When cameras disappear, they were warned to complete attack ads before tasting the snacks. Kinda sad for her, but she needs the money so she needs to work there. On March 4th, she and her colleages are voting Obama.

Hey everyone, ever notice the large responses from Hillary supporters. Also, they always seem to come bunched together. I wonder if campaign insiders are flooding forums like this in a lame way of protecting their candidate. Hillary lost my vote and my family's vote. I am taking 5 days off to work in OHIO. Hillary is a scumbag...
OBAMA 08

I have been waiting for this...
Obama never put out an Ad until Clinton sent out one and he responded, not reacted. That angered Clinton and she went all out hell on him including getting a boxing glove. All Obama needed to do in the ring was throw her an upper cut and she would have been out, instead he responded again, laid out economic polices and gave an outstanding speech. She could not compare....
Guys, let's face it. She is the old generation whose time has come and gone. None of the she did this or he did that matters, like someone posted earlier, - once a generation is over, change is irriversible.

From Middle East:
Nothing said here will affect the ways the votes goes, but the idea of having a woman as my commander-in-chief with all the heck she has pulled is very worrisome to me. Nothing against women, but this one is one of a kind -kinda negative and desperate.

The comments on this thread are full of falicous and misleading statements about Obama. I realize that you clinton supporters are upset by his recent surge in opinion polls and his winning streak.... but come on to just flat out lie about his record or make up crazy accusations out of thin air, shame on all of you. Neither Obama nor Hillary want to bring about the destruction of America. And neither Obama nor Clinton are perfect by any means. The fact is no one in America or the world for that matter is "perfect". You people need to lighten up and let this campaign run its course.

I see a lot of Clintons loyals on this blog. It shows how desperate they have been worked to get any information even if it is a lie, out to the public. She will lose Wisconsin, Hawai, Ohio. She will Win Pensylvania and tie Texas.
Then she will look at the super delegates for help, most of whom are shying away from her - knowing what they know now.
Obama is not perfect as he is as human as us as he has stated several times, Hilary states she is not human and she is a workaholic for the American people. All I need in the White House is a human as noraml as myself that can inspire me.
