Hillary: Barack Obama Won't Keep Your Kids Safe
February 29, 2008 10:23 AM
Entering a proud tradition of Democrats trying to scare the beejesus out of voters by implying the rival candidate may be responsible for a nuclear holocaust, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, began airing a new TV ad today.
Watch it HERE.
The ad has already been compared with LBJ's ground-breaking fear-mongering ad "Daisy," which you can watch HERE...
...as well as Walter Mondale's 1984 classic "Red Phone," which you can watch HERE.
Noted the Mondale ad: “The most awesome, powerful responsibility in the world lies in the hand that picks up this phone.
"The idea of an unsure, unsteady, untested hand is something to really think about.
"Vote as if the future of the world is at stake, because it is. Mondale. This President will know what he’s doing, and that’s the difference.”
The Clinton ad isn't quite that stark, but it makes the same point.
And what do you think?
- jpt
UPDATE: ABC News' Teddy Davis reports that on a conference call this morning, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said that "Sen. Clinton has already had her red phone moment," referring to Clinton voting wito authorize the use of force in Iraq. Plouffe also criticized Clinton for not reading the National Intelligence Estimate pertaining to pre-war Iraq, saying that she did not do "her homework."
UPDATE 2: The Obama campaign just sent around its candidate's prepared remarks at a VFW Hall in Houston, Texas, which includesthe following:
"I just want to take a moment to respond to an ad that Senator Clinton is apparently running today that asks, 'Who do you want answering the phone in the White House when it’s 3am and something has happened in the world?'
"We’ve seen these ads before. They’re the kind that play on peoples’ fears to scare up votes.
"Well it won’t work this time. Because the question is not about picking up the phone. The question is – what kind of judgment will you make when you answer? We’ve had a red phone moment. It was the decision to invade Iraq. And Senator Clinton gave the wrong answer. George Bush gave the wrong answer. John McCain gave the wrong answer.
"But I stood up and said that a war in Iraq would cost us thousands of lives and billions of dollars. I said that it would distract us from the real threat we face – and that we should take the fight to al Qaeda in Afghanistan. That’s the judgment I made on the most important foreign policy decision of our generation, and that’s the kind of judgment I’ll show when I answer that phone in the White House as President of the United States – the judgment to keep us safe, to go after our real enemies, and to provide the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States with the equipment they need when we do send them into battle, and the respect and care they have earned when they come home. And I’ll never see the threat of terrorism as a way to scare up votes, because it’s a threat that should rally this country around our common enemies. That’s the judgment we need at 3am. And that’s the judgment that I am running for President to provide."

Has it crossed anyone's mind that Obama clings to those very same coattails as Hillary?
Upstart Obama had no other coattails to cling to, and certainly did not have his own.
As adversary of Mrs. Clinton, he has grabbed onto former President Clinton's coattails as surely as if they belonged to him; though they were not offered, and presumably, would not be if Bill Clinton wanted his wife to win.
The minute the Democratic Party put up Hillary, they created a presumptive head of state along the lines of the Clinton regime. When Obama came into the race, it was as near a mutiny of the ship of state (from Democrat's prospective) as could possibly be entertained. That so many have drifted from Hillary supporters to Obama supporters is far more telling of how the "mutiny" is going, who funds it, how it began, and what the stakes are for the Democratic Party.
Whether they should resolve the "mutiny" by collaborating and creating a Clinton-Obama ticket is a monumental question based upon the dynamics of the mutiny and how it began, what would be gained/lost during an administration, and how the world would see such a compromise, not to mention the status of the party for coattail hangers-on like Obama who challenge such huge machines - to influence the President, the party, and the nation. The stakes are huge for the Democratic Party to get it right for its own legitimacy and future survival.
The premise has been that changing horses midstream is never good, but with Obama's momentum, horse-changing seems to be a historic byproduct of this campaign, for whatever reason, which could well threaten the moral authority of the Democratic Party, or its legitimacy.
How's that for waffling? An entire political party in every state now waffles. What an epic! And what an opening for Republicans.
All for a tenacious little turtle with teeth who won't let go until sundown with a very hard shell.
Obama will go down in history either way for his effort because of the Princess and the Pea effect created in the Democratic Party. But is that enough to elect a President on?

Only in America - would a political candidate - remind us of the horror of 9/11 - for the sake of winning a nomination.
Only in America - could people believe that speeches - are more important than the ideas being talked about - when someone gives - a speech.
Only in America - could two families run the White House like personal dynasties - for almost twenty years.
Only in America - could an unknown man stand up, present new ideas - and be laughed at and mocked by his competitor - for presenting new ideas. Some Americans - thought that was funny.
Only in America - could people be so afraid to change or begin fixing what is so wrong - that they cling to the past - and to those two families - or their friends.
Only in America - would one citizen laugh at another citizen - because the second citizen wanted to try something different.
Only in America - could you find a man running for office that has already said - that he will likely make mistakes. He has also said - that he will admit them.
Only in America - would you find a man who said that he will listen to other people's opinions - before he makes a final decision.
Only in America - would you find people willing to try one more time - to do something new, different, and hard - for the sake of improving our country - and remembering - what we used to stand for.
Only in America - will supporters of the potential new leader watch every move that he makes as president and honor his triumphs - while calling him out - on his mistakes.
Only in America - will you find people that have hope for a better tomorrow - and the strength to pursue that hope through actions - instead of just words.
Only in America - will you find people who refuse to believe that repeating yesterday's mistakes - is the best that we can do.
Only in America - will one find people who are brave enough to make a change, smart enough to know that change will be hard, worried enough about our country to put ourselves on the line, and willing - to listen - to new ideas.
Mr. Obama has raised us all up - from the moment that he began - speaking. The crowds of formerly 'invisible' Americans listen to Mr. Obama - because we know that our voices have not been heard - for a long time now.
I am not young, inexperienced, stupid, naive, or uneducated.
Thank you, Mr. Obama, for reminding us what we are supposed to be about - as a nation. And thank you, Mr. Obama - for reminding us that we are supposed to be working - together.

Obama has very little experience in serious foreign policy issues and he never talks about about any issue in detail. Obama was not in the senate when the vote for going to war if necessary was taken. Obama did not have the same information that the senators did. The vote for the war was only to give George Bush the authority to go to war as a last resort. If the CIA information had been correct and Iraq would have had nuclear weapons it would have been a mistake not to have voted for the war. Hillary is the "ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND GET IT DONE" candidate.

Katherine, a fear-mongerning ad can take many forms. Fear mongering can be extremely subtle and does not require the obvious images that you mentioned. But it is fear mongering none the less. Just having an ad with a couple sitting at a table talking about every day life and then just happening to slip in the name "Barack Hussein Obama" is fear mongering. It subtly conjures up an image of Sen. Obama being muslim. Which he is not!
Now as for this particular ad, I personally think Sen. Clinton made a huge mistake. As was mentioned earlier, the ad portrays Sen. Clinton as letting "the" phone ring 6 times before answering. That does not show good judgment! Do you want to elect a person who is so busy "thinking" about us that she ignores "the" phone call?

Having lived in Illinois for my whole life,I can straight up tell you Obamma is full of it.His message of change has brought none to his home state. His message of reaching across the aisle has not happened. His message of changing the political system, well,we have one of the most corrupt state governments in the country, nothing has changed. If he cannot bring about any meaningfull change for real people in a state, how can he possibly do so on a national level? Sure his ideas sound good, but to put into actuall use is a different story.Universal healthcare is a disaster waiting to happen.Look at Canada,50% of their paycheck is gone in taxes, and the taxes put on everyday goods you buy will shock you.A case of beer for example is 40$.Both Hillary and Obamma are good at promising young voters the world, but in reality, all you get will be higher taxes and more welfare. No,I am not that happy with McCain as a choice either, but he seems to be the only one that will let me keep my money in my pocket.

Wait a second, I just want to add something:
Do people REALLY think that there will not be a crisis in the world during the next Presidential term??
I think that is very naive, maybe all this dreamy hope talk has made people delusional. There will not be instantaneous world peace, people. We cannot have a naive idealistic President who is selling false hope to people.
Also, are people REALLY as scared about this ad as Obama is? Obama, you need to try to be BRAVE, ok? It's just a realistic ad concentrating on Hillary's experience.
If Obama gets scared from a 30 second TV ad, how the HECK can he be President?
Hillary 08!
Posted by: Katherine | Mar 1, 2008 6:26:22 AM
I think the ad is excellent. Hillary 08!!
A 'fear-mongering" ad would be images of fire bombs and crying, praying people, and NYC buildings falling down, and nuclear weapons, and mechanical marching soldiers, and then contrasting that with bright sunny Americana images of waving flags on porches and children laughing and running on their bright green safe front lawns.

it's easy to say you voted against the war when you didn' actually vote...
and how come, if he loves or country so much, he didn't join the army... or the air force?
GIVE'EM HELL, HILLARY!

Not only is Hillary the best candidate, but do not forget that Bill brought a hell of a lot of good to our country. He was was a strong President who made wise decisions which birthedg an era of a profoundly enriched economy, but also took a strong stand on protecting our country:
FROM THE DRUDGE REPORT
"As to the Clinton administration and terrorism...
"The Clinton Administration caught, tried, convicted, and imprisoned the people responsible for the first WTC bombing -- something Bush still has to accomplish.
"By the way, Clinton ALSO issue a presidential directive authorizing the assassination of Osama bin Laden.
"The Clinton administration put a stop to their planned terrorist activities including plots to kill the Pope and blow up US jetliners, along with planned attacks against the UN headquarters, the FBI building, the Israeli embassy in DC, the LA ad Boston airports, and the Lincoln and Holland tunnels. These were foiled because the Clinton administration took the warning seriously, unlike Bush who ignored all the clear warnings that lead up to 911.
The Clinton administration tripled funding for counterterroism for the FBI. It closed down al Qaeda cells in over 20 countries. It created a national security post to coordinate counter terrorism activity."
I value his opinions still... and this is the "baggage" that Hillary must carry, we should be grateful.
Jack Kennedy was no saint, yet we revered him.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt had an affair while in office , yet he remains historically one of our most productive, prestigious leaders.
And notice that Eleanor Roosevelt emerged as powerful universally respected luminary...... as did, to a lesser extent, Jackie Kennedy.
I think Hillary handled this scandal in a dignified manner and how it was resolved between the two of them is none of our business... except to note that they both tremendously respect each other.
And if Bill wants to be Hillary's sounding board..... that's a bonus!
so:
VOTE FOR HILLARY
and
HILLARY, GIVE THEM HELL!!!!!

JD I said she lived in a state that was attacked, not she lived in New York city but hay its easy to get confused. As to Obama since Miss Cleo seems to have left her powers to him,and hes the only one besides Bush and his cronies who knew it was all a lie, that there were no wmd maybe he was in on it or he really does have clarivoyant powers you think?
Posted by: girlinvt | Mar 1, 2008 12:03:31 AM
Hillary might want to rethink her denigration of Barack Obama because should she, by some fluke, come out ahead of Obama, she will need the Afro American community to stand by her. As it is, Hillbilly is burning bridges that she doesn't understand she will need to cross in the future. GO OBAMA!!!!

SO
Interesting Point.
Rolling the dice in 2000 gave us GWB, the son of a fmr president.
I'd hate to do the same thing in 2008. One is not entitled to be the President. The Presidency should not be an inheritance right.
I'd hate to see Hillary ride her husbands coat tails to win the nomination. Reminds me too much of GWB.

It is dangerous ground Sen. Clinton is walking on, for though the same advertisement "worked" for Mr. Mondale in his campaign against Gary Hart, in the general election he was decimated and vaporized from the public forum and consciousness forever. Sen. Clinton now runs the same risk, one which holds a substantially greater risk, given the fact that her husband may also suffer an equal fate. But, so is the nature of politics...
Posted by: H. Aslan Aslani-Far | Feb 29, 2008 8:26:10 PM
Hillary, I support you but if people want to roll the dice with a community organizer from the street of Chicago, it is their prerogative.
In 2000, people wanted George W. Bush and he gave them what they deserve. Unfortunately, we all suffer the consequences. We are in for a rough ride in the next few years.

Besides being a rerun, that ad is just weird. I'm thinking '3 am' and there's Hillary in a suit and pearls? New York may be The City that Never Sleeps, but come on....
Mostly the ad reminds me to vote for the person most capable of preventing a crisis from developing in the first place - not waiting until it reaches the 3 am red phone stage. That would be Obama.

girlinvt,
Hillary has never lived in a U.s. city attacked by Iraq.
As a matter of fact, NO ONE HAS, since Iraq hasn't ever attacked America.
Nice try though.
and to the poster, "untested", that claim has already been debunked by Canada. The Obama campaign did not contact anyone in the Canadian government.
(I just realized that alot of the pro-Hillary posts on this thread are being posted by the same person, under different names.)

The comments from beginning to end are disheartening to say the least. First, all of the sarcasm targeted at both Democratic candidates is totally undermining over two decades worth of hard work and community service. Both Clinton and Obama have accomplished fetes that less than 5% percent of the WORLD have accomplished. Both have outstanding academic records and careers including great public service. Please remember that the definition of foreign policy is not WAR! To imply that somehow Barack Obama is some sort of Pied Piper casting a spell over 55% of the country and the media at large insults the intelligence of the average person. I went into this contest fully supporting Clinton, and she totally lost me! While running a race, any time spent focused your opponent instead of your goal is energy that could have been used to win. Her campaign at some point began to focus on tearing Obama down instead of focusing on her great qualities. Hillary started an internal war within the Democratic Party as she was the first to strike! I'm not concerned with her vote for the war because in politics you just can't get everything right all of the time! Even Collin Powell (who is Republican but has been a favorite of both parties having served under Rep and Dem administrations) got it wrong when he addressed the UN in full support of the war. However, he was honest enough to admit that his intelligence was flawed. Obama has admitted that there will be mistakes in his presidency and lets not forget, there were PLENTY during the Clinton administration. Ask yourself was the genocide in Rwanda or Bill Clinton not aggressively pursuing the terrorist in 1998 good foreign policy? I LOVE the Clintons, but I have to admit they are an easy target because unfortunately due to mishaps like M.Lewinsky and White Water it was the most scandelous adminstration in US History. However, the Obama campaign never focused on that nor the current side dealings of Bill Clinton. Also if experience is so important to Hillary, I'd love to see the support documenting her activities (which she won't release) as First Lady. If this is how she is prepared to represent the US to the rest of the world then what does that say about someone who has the YEARS of experience but doesn't know how to properly apply them. Obama has been very candid about his misdealings and mistakes. Yes, I am voting for him but it is sad to say that Hillary LOST this race rather than him winning it. She went in with the GREATEST edge because we all know that she has been planning this as late as 2000 and that is why she manipulated her Senate run and chose a powerful state that she never resided in. I'm not mad at her though, she should be championed for her shrewd acts...she is brilliant but let he (or she)who is without sin cast the first stone!
I'm sure everyone bashing Obama and Hillary has never made a mistake on the job and has PERFECT children!

1. Bill Clinton was responsible for handling the Al-Qa'ida threat to the US for 8 YEARS before Mr. Bush took office. Al-Qa'ida hit the US 8 months after Mr. Bush took office. I'd say that both Mr. Clinton and Mr. Bush - failed to protect the country.
As First Lady, Hillary should not have 'heard the phone ringing' about AQ - because that was Bill's job and Bill's record isn't good on the subject, either. Neither Hillary or Mr. Obama have faced this type of challenge - and as Mr. Obama says, jugement is key. As an individual, Hillary has reacted to Al-Qa'ida - by helping to start another war in Iraq.
2. Al-Qa'ida posters are saying on their forums that they reject Mr. Obama - because he is NOT a Muslim and because he is a US politician. (See today's MSNBC's 'First Read' section, internet.)
Leave it to Al-Qa'ida to put the rumors about Mr. Obama being a Muslim - to rest.
As MSNBC is running the AQ forums story, CNN is airing Bill Clinton - speaking for Hillary.
Thank you, MSNBC - for helping us to separate - fact - from fiction.

He has so many companies backing him up and not to mention Muslims for Obama organization. How will he have time to fix the economy with the gas prices.. Maybe if we elect him the Saudis will lower the prices.
He has raised a ton of money I would like to know how much of that was from the Middle East?

Let me get this straight Obama was for the war which he himself stated in Sept 2004. then in 2007 when his controller Soros told him, he is against the war, now he wants to pull our troops out from fighting Al Qeada, and then put them back in to fight Al Qeada. His stance gets you dizzy!!
He has no clue !!

especially not trying to get the pay for women in this country the SAME as a man's pay, for the SAME WORK
THAT IS FUNNY, I WORKED AS A WELDER AND WORKED WITH WOMEN WHO WELDED THE SAME PART AS ME. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS WHEN I WAS DONE I DID NOT HAVE TO CALL A FELLOW MALE EMPLOYEE TO HELP ME LIFT THE PART. I ALSO WORKED WITH WOMEN IN THE MILITARY. WHILE ME AND OTHER MARINES WERE LIFTING 200-300 POUND ASSESTS I NEVER ONCE SAW A TEAM OF 2 WOMEN DOING THE SAME WORK. JUST BECAUSE YOU DO THE SAME JOB DOES NOT MEAN YOU DO THE SAME WORK

I think Sen. Obama was for the war before he was against it. Well anyway he had a fifty fifty chance to get it right so what does that tell you! Just like deal or no deal he was half way there. Maybe he had some info we didn't have!

I was/AM anti-war and mad as all get out when Hillary voted for the IWR. I also live in Illinois, a BLUE STATE, and voted for Mr. Hope when he ran for the Senate (I also met him and campaigned for him), but I now know what a fraud he is and regret that vote.
Sure Mr. Hope spoke out against the war when he was campaigning for the Senate. He lives in a BLUE STATE. It was VERY safe here, at the time, to be anti-war. Most people here are anti-war. For him to speak out in Illinois, a BLUE STATE, was not a "brave" thing to do do. It was VERY easy. The man WON his election by an overwhelming margin! If Illinois was pro-war, Mr. Hope would have had his behind handed to him and sent packing back to Springfield. This crap about him being anti-war is just that, CRAP. He knew it was a popular thing to say here. Do you honestly believe he would have been anti-war if he was running for the Senate in TEXAS??? I think not!
He's a fraud and I still believe he and his family should be forced to go live in Godley, Illinois and forced drink their Tritium tainted water ....courtesy of Exelon Nuclear, his buddies.

Bill Clinton in 2004:
"Now one of Clinton’s laws of politics is this: If one candidate’s trying to scare you and the other one’s trying to get you to think, if one candidate’s appealing to your fears and the other one’s appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."
Thank you to the person who sent this to Ben Smith's Politico blog.

Hillary does have more foreign policy experience than Barack Obama. There is no question about it. If his camp gets offended at this ad than they better get prepared for what lies ahead with John McCain's ads. John McCain has already started to attack Barack Obama over his foreign policy misstatements and he hasn't even won the nomination. As a Democrat, I would clearly choose Hillary over Barack.

RO, stop the personal attacks on we Hillary supporters----you obama supporters have nothing more to do than smear people and tell untruths. That's why the Democratic Party is divided-----because obama supporters say, "WE" and refer to the rest of the Democrats as "You/they". Talk about divisive rhetoric. Just SHUT UP.

Mrs. Clinton is RIGHT! Lord, and this obama guy has not even said that he would do ANYTHING for women-----especially not trying to get the pay for women in this country the SAME as a man's pay, for the SAME WORK. This obama guy is anti-woman. He has not said ONE THING that he would do to help women or women's rights in the United States. BUT------Mrs. CLINTON HAS, and WILL FIGHT FOR WOMEN'S ISSUES.
Wakke UP, women across America. Do you want to go back to the 1960's with this guy obama's ideological take on women's plight in the U.S.? That would be: he has NO STAND NO POSITION NADA FOR WOMEN That translates into: HE WON'T DO ANYTHING BUT IGNORE WOMEN'S ISSUES, like bush has also done in the past 7 years!
Vote for Hillary, who is a CHAMPION and has a PROVEN RECORD for fighting for women's and children's rights.

I am strongly against the war. I always believe that the war in Iraq was a big mistake from the very beginning. However, I will never vote for Obama because he is the least qualified presidential candidate among three that Obama is too much like American Idol kind of politician. Clinton is the best for this country, and McCain is our second best choice.

Two thought about the ad.
First, how much will it cost McCain to buy it from Hillary? Because the answer to that question, who do you want answering the White House phone at 3 am? is John McCain.
Next, in rebutting the Clinton ad Obama once again give the media and the voters a head fake that the media accepts unquestioningly.
The decision to invage Iraq was not a phone call at 3 am in the morning kind of call. It was the end result of months ... MONTHS ... of debates, UN Resolutions, and Senate resolutions.
The 3 am in the morning decision is more like the decision to invage Afghanistan in the aftermath of 9-11.
Does anyone seriously think Obama will ever authotize the use of military force anywhere, anytime in retaliation for anything?
Voters who cheered the decision to invage and bomb Afghanistan with B-52's and were appalled at Clinton bombing Sudanese aspirin factories with cruise missiles are going to be very very uncomfortable with President Obama's innate and reflexive pacifism.
Posted by: Bill | Feb 29, 2008 1:28:03 PM
I think that the Ad raises a good point. It is very important to me that the next President of the United States has foreign policy experinece. I will not vote for somebody that has little foreign policy experience, says that they are a Uniter and not a Divider, ever again. I already voted for Bush twice. Voting for Obama would be like voting for George Bush all over again.
Posted by: Gabriel | Feb 29, 2008 1:09:57 PM
I saw this ad earlier on CNN -- and could hardly believe it. One could EASILY make the case, frame by frame, that it's aiming at something darker, creepier, and more everyday than nuclear phone calls.
Anyway -- as an unshakeable supporter of John Edwards -- I'm finally outraged at the Clintons over using RACE. (Wild Bill's remarks in South Carolina, on which the press sand-bagged him, didn't do it for me: why WOULDN'T people of color vote for Obama?)
Unless the Clintons come out with a photo of Obama selling "Muhammed Speaks" on the street corner, he's likely to be the next president.

FEAR FEAR, Obama has played this card numerous times by telling everyone half truths about Hillary's health care plan
SO YOU ATLEAST ADMIT HE IS HALF RIGHT ABOUT HER HEALTH CARE PLAN..ATLEAST THAT IS HALF A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

I don't want bi-polar Hillary anywhere near a red phone.
I just learned she is now issuing VEILED threats about a lasuit against the Texas voting process. Oh, but wait nothing happens until AFTER the election.
Texas has a caucus and vote. Hillary said she doesn't care about those states that caucus...we don't count...dont represent the real electorate. Yet, they are threatening a lawsuit here. Remember when Nevada had an injunction about caucus sites? Here we go again.
The Clintons are pulling out all stops. They are using negative ads, psychotic speeches, strong arming superdelegates, trying to change the rules on Michigan and Florida and maybe Texas, filing lawsuits and injunctions...good grief.
Why in the world would any voter want them anywhere near the White House again.

It's such an unfair match-up that I'm almost -- repeat ALMOST -- starting to feel sorry for Hillary. She can't match Obama for intellect, composure, reasoning, organization, fund-raising ability, common sense. He truly runs rings around her.

What Senator Obama argues may be right, but what is his staff saying to the Canadians. That seems to be what counts.

She's ready to lead the country, but she cant even stop her husband from sleeping with anything that moves.
Hillary sickens me. Using scare tactics to turn the masses against Obama is a low and dirty trick, right out of the republican's playbook.
Kind of reminds me of The Bush's spreading the lies that McCain had a child with a black women.
Hillary has shown that she cant even properly manage her own campaign. She has shown that she will say or do anything to win this race, She has shown that she is not a person with an inch of integrity.
She continues to show why she is not qualified to lead this country. You Sheep who support her just refuse to see it. and you say Obama supporters are living in fairy tale land.
DOWN WITH HILLARY.

PLEASE LIST THREE REASONS TO VOTE FOR HILLARY
Posted by: chrisINTEXAS | Feb 29, 2008 12:23:16 PM
The ad asks an important question -- Too many Americans are wallowing in hero worship. The ad should have been aired a long time ago. People should be afraid of choosing the wrong person to lead our country. It is an important job for all of us. Please think people -- especially Texas and Ohio and vote for who you want to protect your country. This is an important election to lose.

No. If it's not Clinton then this Democrat is voting for McCain. Get used to it.
Posted by: geevill | Feb 29, 2008 12:16:54 PM
The democrats need to get united again or McCain will win.
NOT THAT I AM A POLL PUSHER BUT OBAMA IS PROJECTED TO BEAT MCCAIN AND HILLARY IS NOT SO VOTE FOR OBAMA IS WHAT YOU MEANT
Posted by: chris | Feb 29, 2008 12:12:50 PM
Steph, you should do a little research. Everything Obama says about Clintons healthplan is true.
She even said on national TV, that americans who do not get the mandated health insurance would be subject to possible fines.

Once again copies what the other person says. He has news for John McCain and now Hillary answer a phone call. The man is zero originality and is a empty suited parrot.
Posted by: geevill | Feb 29, 2008 12:11:43 PM
Someone or something has to shakeup the Obama mania before the real travesty happens and we have the wrong person in the White House. Please vote for Hillary - Ohio and Texas. The democrats need to get united again or McCain will win.

Her ad is correct
Nobody has a clue what BO has in store or what he would do
Would he call Louis F or his mentor the minister of his church for advise
He is far too conceded to ask the opinions of the experienced people
His ego would prevail over any common sense
Although he would wake his wife the one he claims is his rock and get her opinion before doing any thing which could take a couple of hours of rambling on and what if she was in a foul mood!~
Not a very fuzzy warm feeling there

They are whining on every site they can log on to. Maybe its because the know Obama is weak on foreign policy
EXACTLY HOW IS IT THAT HILLARY IS SOO SOLID ON FORIEGN POLICY...AND IF ANYONE CARES TO TAKE THE HILLARY CHALLENGE IT GOES LIKE THIS....NAME ONE LEGISLATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF HILLARYS THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE WORDS BRIDGE, DEDICATED, OR LIBRARY IN IT...IF YOU CAN NOT FIND ONE MAYBE YOU NEED TO RE-EVALUATE YOUR STANCE ON THE ELECTION...OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD STOP POINTING OUT THE EXPIERIENCE FACTOR
Posted by: chris | Feb 29, 2008 12:05:01 PM
What I would like to ask some of these Obama supporters so what if we did not attack Iraq would that of made Saddam or OBL intentions go away?
If we did nothing would that have stopped the bombing all over the world, the terror threats, the unrest in other countries.
If we did nothing can any of you say we would not had another 911 event in the US or in any other part of the world?
If we just ignored what happen as Obama says tell me what you feel it would of accomplished?

Kudos ABC for adding Obama's reply to your article.

I would hope that if the Red Phone went off at the White House at 3am - that Hillary wouldn't let it ring four or five times to friggen pick it up like she does in the ad.
Hurry up Hillary, Daisy is facing impending death! Pick up the phone!!

The difference between Clinton and Obama:
The non-issue of McCain's citizenship. Obama's colleague has put forth a bill guaranteeing that anyone born to military parents abroad are most definitely citizens. Obama is cosponsoring the bill, saying that those who make the sacrifices that John McCain and his father had, deserve the right to run for President.
That's the difference between them - Obama is inherently a non-partisan, who puts the law first; while Clinton is a hack that puts herself first.
Hillary would probably try to have McCain deported to Panama, or something.

Why is Sen. Clinton using Karl Rove's methods? Isn't Karl Rove a Republican? Has Sen. Clinton switched over to the Republican party?
Posted by: Chan | Feb 29, 2008 11:46:19 AM
All Obama has to do is make an ad now that he is answering the phone lol but then again how could he remember he is one that want to disarm the USA and leave this country venerable to attack, maybe he should change his stance now wont be so hard to do since he is a pro at flip flopping. lol
Posted by: SJ | Feb 29, 2008 11:43:07 AM
Sorry, the man is teflon. The more mud your throw at him the more muddy your boots get. McCain's "Geritol Express" will NOT be able to keep up.
Posted by: Radmanaustin | Feb 29, 2008 11:42:40 AM
Even for Hillary, this is an all-time low.
I would want someone with a COOL HEAD, SOUND JUDGMENT and a STRONG HEART in charge of the White House. That pretty much makes Obama my choice now doesn't it?
The thought of a bi-polar shreaking shrew receiving a call like that....not an image I want running thru my head.
Fellow Texans, and our neighbors to the North in Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island, it is time for us to stand up and REJECT AND RENOUNCE HILLARY CLINTON.
It is time to end Hillary's dirty, old school politics. We will send a loud and clear message we don't want our political leaders stooping to these lows. She may very well have chosen to end her political career with these kinds of ads and last week's tyrades.

The Ad must be working because it is sure making the Obama supporters upset. They are whining on every site they can log on to. Maybe its because the know Obama is weak on foreign policy because there is not one thing in that ad that should have them all so upset ....or is there ???

This blog is getting really creepy with its constant anti-Hillary posts. Every since the SNL comment it seems on the verge of stalking her every move and words looking for something to attack.
Posted by: chasseur | Feb 29, 2008 11:38:10 AM
I think the Clinton campaign has to try to shock Americans back from their "infatuation" with Obama. Even the most liberal aspects of the democratic party are beginning to question Obama's commitment to real change. An article in the Washington Post said that eventually he will distance himself from moveon.org. i want real hope, which comes from introspection, hard work and intelligence. Fanatic idealization feeds on the genuine hopes and needs of people and this can lead to severe disillusionment when the Obama bubble burst.

Hillary: Barack Obama Won't Keep Your Kids Safe
YOU CALL THAT ANTI-HILLARY...THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE AD WAS SAYING...
Posted by: chris | Feb 29, 2008 11:32:12 AM
Hillary is taking a page from the Bush playbook...i.e., fear is good. See Hillary is really telling us we all need to stay the course and this is the same song we hear from McCain. Hillary and McCain tell us we need to stay the course but with a more competent president.
The choice seems pretty clear to me. The data could be more clear. A vote for Obama is a vote cast against Bush, and his corruption, and his incompetence and his climate of Fear.
And Hillary's continuation the Bush climate of fear is just another reason to turn the page and vote for Obama.

Now everyone, read the heading of this article again. Do you see how anti Hillery it is. Do you think ABC would give Obama a heading like that?
Posted by: John Smith | Feb 29, 2008 11:28:30 AM
Hillary Clinton, has srved on the Armed Services Committee for more than 6 years, has been to over 81 countries, has relationships with most of those leaders,
WHAT HAS SHE ACCOMPLISHED WHILE ON THE COMMITEE, AND AS FAR AS HER BEING TO 81 COUNTRIES AND HAVING RELATIONSHIPS WITH MOST OF THOSE LEADERS..I AM SURE IT WAS MOSTLY HER TAGGIN ALONG WITH BILLY BOB
AND HOW DO YOU FIGURE SHE HAS NATIONAL SECURITY EXPIERIENCE....WHAT HAS SHE DONE FOR NATIONAL SECURITY EXCEPT TO VOTE US INTO WAR AND BACK OUT WHEN IT WAS NOT POPULAR ANYMORE
Posted by: chris | Feb 29, 2008 11:25:54 AM
Hillary would scream like she did in the debate, if she's the one to take that call. Imaging entrusting Sen. Clinton with national security, the leaders of Korea, Russia,Cuba, Iran, Syria and Venezuela would love the opportunity to make the President of America cry. America needs a strong leader, not a cry baby.
