Is Barack Obama the Messiah?
February 10, 2008 1:58 PM
A website dedicated to the phenomenon raises the question, complete with testimony from converts and photographic evidence of his works.
"My job is to be so persuasive that if there's anybody left out there who is still not sure whether they will vote, or is still not clear who they will vote for, that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany," said Obama in New Hampshire , "and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama."

Of coarse, Barrack Obama is the Messiah. He goes to a town hall meeting, says "Change, Hope, Future", five women faint. Moves 4 towns over, says "Future, Change, Hope", three more women faint, etc. Like most messiahs, except Jesus, you are not allowed to question their inconsistencies or personal affiliations. You are just supposed to faint when he says "Change, Hope, Future" and praise him for taking the time to care about us little people. Plus, when Mr. Bush speaks about coward appeasers we should immediately think that it is an attack against our messiah even though we should say that that is not what are messiah would do.

Who you trying to fool, Obama's going to be elected into the oval office and that will usher in the downfall and total destruction of the USA..
not all at once but a little at a time.
Wait and see, everything is already determined.

If you were looking to fill an executive position, would you hire the candidate with excellent interviewing skills but no record of achievement?

I am an Obama supporter, but I don't see him as a Messiah or anything. He seems pretty grounded to me.

I'm an independent voter and I have not made up my mind yet. However, I do have concerns about how people, Democrat's in particular, are looking at the candidates.
The whole country knows the negatives about Hillary Clinton. What about Obama's negatives? I suggest people really take a hard look at his background - www.unfilteredopinion.com
I'm not saying not to vote for Obama. I'm just saying read every thing you can about him and then make your decision. Don't just read his book and go to his web site. Check out the other stuff. Is it true? I don't know, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
For example:
1) I have no problem with some one going to his church (www.tucc.org). But I do have a problem with a person running for President attending a church that bills itself as "unashamedly black" with a "non-negotiable commitment to Africa".
Obama supporter or not, you have to admit that if that was a White candidate attending a church that was "unashamedly white" it would be all over the news.
2) His church's magazine gives a Lifetime Achievement Award to the racist Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam. Obama says he doesn't agree with the award, but why would you stay at a church that gives the award. By staying, you are basically sanctioning their decision. If he "really" did not like it, trust me the church would not have given the award.
3) What is the extent of Obama's relationship with Farrakhan. A friend pointed out to me that the Illinois State Senate seat that Obama held covered the Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. This neighborhood is dominated by Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. NO ONE wins that State Senate seat with out the blessing of Farrakhan.
4) Does he really have Nation of Islam members on his Senate and campaign staff. I would have a problem wih that.
5) How is Obama about change? Doesn't every politician running for office say that? If Obama is so much about "change", why is his top campaign staff and advisors the same old Washington insiders from previous Democratic regimes?
All of the candidates have flaws, some more than others. I'm just asking you to read all you can about the candidates before you vote for them. Do not vote for Obama because he inspires you. Vote for Obama because he has the right plan with the right details to get the job done. Inspiration alone, is not going to get a darn thing passed with the 435 members of Congress. That's trench warfare.
I guess I should identify myself as an African-American since this campaign is shaping up to be about race also.
Why do you think Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan and the others have been so quiet and not seen on TV as much? Some White people hate them so much and they don't want Obama to get painted with that brush.

Obama is no Messiah, he has done nothing to merit the title. He will asure 4 more years of Republican Goverment. Americans like to drink beer with Bush, we get 8 drunken years of goverment. Now we like the way this idiot talks. We are not going to win the White house without using our heads instead of our hearts.

Well one would think so if they listen to the media. Obama can do no wrong.
Really are we so stupid to be lead down the path of great speeches. Obama is a candidate of little substance. We need less talk and more action.
I find it odd that a chaotic caucus where little is checked will determine who the candidate will be. Hillary Clinton should be the next president - she has earned the title

OBAMA CAN NEVER BE COMPARED TO JESUS,WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS,AND SAVIOR OF OUR SOULS, AND GIVES US A LIVING HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE. BUT, HE COULD BE CONSIDERED A REDEEMER IN THAT HIS MESSAGE GIVES AMERICA ANOTHER KIND OF HOPE. A HOPE FOR A BETTER GOV,A NATION WE CAN FEEL PROUD OF AGAIN. HIS DESIRE IS TO SAVE AMERICA FROM THE OLD WASHINGTON ESTABLISMENT THAT HAS RAN THIS COUNTRY FOR SO LONG; AND HAS LONG PROVEN NONEFFECTIVE. NO HE NOT CHRIST OR ANTICHRIST,BUT I DO FEEL HE A GODSEND!

character, integrity, determination,
Barack seems to have it all, and along with education and intelligence, he could make a great president.
unfortunately, his background as champion for african americans, and the pressure from the naacp and other african american leaders, may bog him down.

what he is? the cool one. the new and improved one. he's got a great brand, hope, and he's selling it well.
what she is? herself. she isn't jfk, mlk, regan, james dean, susan b. anthony, or any other famous person here now or before. just herself. we always want to say, ohh there now is the next clint eastwood, paul newman, lucille ball, or whoever. but usually real people only come around once. however this election goes, hillary will go down in history as a true pioneer in this race for president. long after all the clinton haters are gone, little girls will study about hillary in their history books and be inspired and some will probably hope to be the next hillary.

Spock, actually the Democratic Party has more members. In 2004, there were approximately 169 million registered voters. About 72 million (42.6%) registered as Democrats; about 55 (32.5%) million as Republicans; and the remainer, 42 million (24.9%), registered as Independent, Green or other smaller parties.

The messiah? This guy is insane.
Posted by: Dan | Feb 11, 2008 11:23:32 AM
irma - Actually there are more Republicans then Dems in this country but both are about equal, but when you throw in Conservatives to the Republicans then the Republicans outnumber, and then you got Independents who more lean towards the right!

Just read what Obama said in New Hampshire campaign and find all of this scaring.Did'nt find any talk about policy, just like a minister adressing a crowd of people happy to hear about hope because they are so frustrated. Remind me of Mao adressing crowds that cried and got hysterical.

All of these comments lets me know that some you still have the prejudices in you. Aren't you tied of the old white man way of thinking. Grow up and except that a Black man will run this country.

Bonjo,you got that RIGHT,OBAMA is the ANTI-CHRIST!!!
Posted by: vjr | Feb 11, 2008 9:02:09 AM
Obama is NOT the new Messiah. He is the new anti-Christ. There is something terribly disquieting about the man who walks with a strangely slow swager , speaks in abrupt sentences and espouses "hope" without stating exactly what he will do. We need more than "hope". We need real decisive action with wisdom.

At least Mark Halperin is saying what needs to be said: "With the press – as always – ready to side with Obama..."
