Mona that's because you don't get it, there is a lot more at stake and by the way he did make it to Louisiana during the primary; don't be a crab in a barrel

for the record Hillary went because she is trying to win back the black vote that she carelessly threw away with her insensitize words, marginalizing the work of Dr. King and let's not forget her husband, Bill's subtle and insensitive inuendos. Please that is why Hillary is now courting the Deltas and they will not fall for her insincere and dividing politics

To rle, all I know is if Louisiana was having a primary tomorrow, Obama would have been in Louisana on Saturday and this would not be an issue.

Kara, what you don't realize is that Senator Obama realizes there is alot at stake, this election and it was necessary for him to be in Texas at the time rather than Louisiana. If he is going to make a difference he can do so more effectively as president than a bystander, so stop criticizing what you don't know and apparently don't understand

While the media here in the USA is on a Obama love fest, the Asia Time, the Canadian press, the British press just to name a few all have articles wondering what is going on with the American public.

They are pointing out that Obama is man that no one knows anything about, lacks experience and has valid questions about his past which the media in the USA does not want to look or even talk about.

The foreign press is asking question that our press should be asking, and even has gone so far to wonder if the American public will now settle for anything after the Bush years, where we have found ourselves in financial ruin, or as some put it America is now poor.

The Asia times was very harsh on their remarks on Obama's run for the presidency. Once again we may well end up with a president that the world looks at as a joke and will have a field day in poking fun at us for another 4 years.

It is indeed unfortunate that the foreign media houses seems to be more concerned with the state of events in the USA that our own in house press, that only seems to find news in Hillary's tone, her dress, what her camp did not did not do, no wonder we are in the mess that we are in.

Consider the moment. What if Sen. Obama were to attend Tavis Smiley's SOTBU event? Perhaps the Senator could deliver a 15 to 20 minute speech, not on the distinctions, but on why the Issues concerning African-Americans are issues that concern us all.

Poverty and low/under employment. The over-representation in the Criminal Justice System. The disproportionate legions of young males growing up in fatherless or single parent homes. The distorted self-image perpetuated by a myopic music industry and other cultural producers. The widening socio-economic gap between Black Women and Men in regards to education and ascending the corporate ladder. We continually are misdiagnosed by the medical professions perpetuating the rise of HIV/AIDS, mis-educated in K-12, mis-represented and mis-judged by juvenile justice, coupled with Fathers Missing In Action/Affection. (One could dare call us Mis-Americans)

However, these issues effect us all. They arrest a Nation, not just a community. These issues obscure our vision, denigrate a dream, silence the sweet songs of our ancestors, thus silencing our voice in the National Chorus. (And who doesn't prefer Stereo or 5.1 digital or Mono)

When a thread of our collective fabric is frayed or remains unsewn, it effects us all.

Perhaps Senator Obama could have attended Tavis Smiley's State of the Black Union and stated these things.

But shouldn't we know by now?

Brooke, if anyone thinks it is normal to spend $4m a minute for the next 100 years, that person should be in a mental institution and that is where Sen. McCain belongs. Sending Sen. McCain to a "home" is like sending him to Florida on vacation. Those who have lost young ones know how I feel. I owe no one an apology, OK?

Posted by: Owen | Feb 26, 2008 2:27:39 AM

Hillary, once again, awesome.

p.s. I love that Owen complains about wanting the negativity to just be over and then proceeds to bash McCain saying he should be in a "home."

A little hypocritical? Liberals are suppose to be open minded. Where's your open mind? People shouldn't bash people, PERIOD - republican, democrat, green, libertarian, whatever.

TO JACKT51...

Why should Hillary concede? Because she is a woman? She still has a chance. Obama should concede for the sake of our country. Everyone is going insane...

HILLARY '08 Sorry, no chant...

Another Obamabot who doesn't know the facts and likes to spin them to make this candidate look like he can do no wrong. The reason Obama has given(look it up) for not attending had to do with his campaigning in TX. He easily could have been in Louisiana for this event. But he seems to care more about trying to get votes in Texas than attending the Black State of the Union event. I think you really mean Barack Obama is shameless.

Posted by: Kara | Feb 25, 2008 6:39:40 PM

Obama was right for refusing invitation to the black state of the union forum in New Orleans because Hillary was there only to remind those invited how much they owe she and her husband for their current state of political being. The woman is shameless !!

Guess you decided to go with the PC "Berated" instead of the more accurate "scolded"!!!

I, too, wish this would end. We don't need celestial choirs to tell us that it is time for Hillary to concede!

Obama 08! Yes, We CAN!

Posted by: Jackt51 | Feb 25, 2008 3:27:21 PM

I can't wait for this BS to end. I'm really pissed off with all the negative stuff out there. I just want to battle the Republicans. I don't want a McCain for president, why should we remain in Iraq for 100 years? The worst part is he doesn't have a clue about our economy. He belongs in a Home and not the White House.
