More on that Pro-Hillary 527

February 20, 2008 4:25 PM

The 527 now has a Youtube page with one of the pro-Clinton ads up. I do not believe an ad buy has been made.

You can watch it HERE.

Ben Smith of the Politico first posted this ad, which talks about how speeches won't help the economy, Clinton is great on the economy, call her and tell her to keep fighting for the middle class, yada yada yada, breathlessly long disclaimer.

The group right now is aiming to raise the $2 million and change needed to advertise statewide on Ohio TV in a week.

Did anyone notice that when Obama emphasised the fact that he was transparent, Hillary chose not to notice or react to that word "Transparent"? When Hillary was asked about her over $300 M pork pet project in her home state,as against Obama's pultry $90 M( which he has accounted for and is still willing to produce the records to back it up), Clinton cleverly shys away from it. Not a single word from her about it. Obama, set the tone for the debate...the denate was on his own terms as it was civil and he would not be drawn into petty bickerings: in other words, he was the leader here by all means.

Hey Jake; Here that pro-Hillary raucus in
Austin tonight at the debates? Still think TX is "tied" and Hillary's "Alamo"?

I am a democratic voter. With that being said. His debating skills do not match his speachs. Or he needs to pick a running mate that will be able to debate well. He needs to learn to talk without a telepromter.

So much for the "little man's" voice. We have to stop the special interests and lobbists. They are about to bankrupt our nation in the name of greed.

Hate to tell you, but Bill Clinton is a big participant in hedge funds on Wall Street. Of course hedge funds are for only the extremely wealthy. I'm sure they consider large political investments like this just "protecting their investment".

Ok Texas, Ohio, it is time for us to take our stand. It is time for us to put a stop to this kind of politics.

PS: BILL CLINTON THIS COUNTRY IS NO LONGER FOR SALE!!!!!!

Ask yourself this question? Are the blue collar voters in Texas or Ohio going to listen to a bunch of rich lawyers from New York (hillary's 527) OR will they listen to the Teamsters, the Boilermakers and ALL the other unions that endorsed Obama?

One last thing, guys.

Though it's difficult to watch fellow Dems appear to rip and tear at one another in the primaries, remember, it's ALWAYS been this way. It's a necessary part of the vetting process, and ultimately produces a much stronger, battle-hardened candidate to go up against what we all know will be the usual dirty tricks, character-assassination attempts and drive-by Swift Boatings from the GOP and its supporters (though I'm hoping McCain will help to keep such scurrilous behavior to a minimum this year).

Be grateful for the heavy-duty Democratic slugfest we're experiencing right now, and have faith and confidence in the knowledge that we WILL all come back together to defeat John McCain in November, regardless of which superb Democrat wins the nomination.

Though I support Obama, hey, as long as the perfectly legal 527 supporting Clinton doesn't lie, smear or distort anyone's record, as far as I'm concerned, it's just democracy in action.

That said, the Clinton and McCain camps must not later attempt to denigrate Obama when/if ever 527s pop up in support of him either.

Fair enough?

CHEAP SHOT:

are you even aware of the following:
(1) NYT endorsed John McCain
(2) the "smear" you refer to has been out there for months - Drudge had it in December and The New Republic has a major piece tomorrow
(3) whatever the NYT reasons for publishing this has nothing what so ever to do with any other campaign

how could you make something up like that with any good conscience--
your allrgation of other campaign's involvement in the nyt article smacks of being uninformed --

As a matter of fact the news has said the Huckabee campaign - while not at all involved in the story or pushing the story -- was staying in the race waiting this out as it has been common knowledge within the press corps for monthsn that there was an ongoing investigation

And if you are such a staunch McCain supporter: one would assume you are familiar with:
1) Keating 5
2) Cindy McCain history

Or maybe Obama made those up when he was still at Harvard Law School --

puh-leese --

the poorly managed HRC campaign is in serious debt... check out the FEC postings for the month ending January 31 2008 -- and that doesn't even tell the full story --

1: HRC loan of $5million has not been paid back
2: HRC charging her campaign interest on the money loaned (even Romney did not charge his own campaign interest on the far greater loan amounts he gave)
3: 50% of HRC donors are "maxed" out through the general election. That means individuals who gave $4.6 to HRC (allowed rate is $2.3 for primary and $2.3 for general) - will be due back the $2.3 portion donated for the general election is Hillary is not the nominee.
This potential liability has not been properly accrued on their finanical statements to date (see Politico). This us why the mad press for money now to us "little people"

Politico estimates the HRC campaign was @$7.8 million in debt NOT including the $5million loan as of Jan 31st.

So we think all those people sending in money to the HRC campaign now are aware their dollars are going to pay off debts? or pay HRC interest on her own money?

So what does the HRC campaign do? Do they show fiscal responsibility? Do they show an obligation to those who supported them financially?

Nope- they double down-increase their spending, and have 527's formed to pour more good money into what is a highly unlikely possibility that Hillary will be the nominee.

The oast 35 months of HRC experience - if factually reviewed - sb enough to convince even the most ardent Hillary supporters, she would not be the best candidate for President in a year the democrats HAVE to take back the White House (despite McCain's potential implosion we are now learning about)

I went to the Hawaii caucus last night at Jefferson School and I
watched in horror as Obama has started to segregate people already.
Food and water was handed out but only to Obama people. If you were
voting for Hillary the food was taken back. A woman said Obama paid
for the food. They were allowing people to vote well past closing. If
this is an example of our next president, then we are in trouble.

Obama's latest political smear campagin victim!

WILL HE STOP AT ANYTHING TO BE ELECTED!

NY times a known Obama's worshiper today published an article beyond any SUBSTANTIATIVE EVIDENCE to smear John Mccain's great Ethical records!

WHAT A CHEAP SHOT!!

Posted by: cheap shot | Feb 21, 2008 1:13:33 AM

I don't see any attack line in this ad!
You Obama's worshiper don't stop at anything to get him eleced?
What a cheap shot!

Posted by: cheap shot | Feb 21, 2008 1:09:16 AM

i see nothing wrong with this ad. It's mostly a positive message on Hillary, and did not "swiftboat" or smear Obama one single bit. Heck, it didn't even mention his name, or McCain's. This must be one of the most mild 527 ads. If Obama fans call this "smear tactics", i would suggest them to finish their current college degree before opening their mouths. To me, anyone before matriculation is still "high school diploma" status.

Posted by: tim | Feb 21, 2008 12:29:35 AM

i never vote for Obama, as he is a liar. by the way, i report a red new. it is said that a controversial site offer a service for rich women seeking handsome and charming soul mates.

Great AD.

When the media tries to hide the truth it is the responsibility of citizens to do all legally possible to educate. To make and informed decision - both sides must be heard. GREAT JOB GENTLEMAN

Posted by: Jasper | Feb 20, 2008 9:26:52 PM

As a Clinton supporter, I think it's a great idea that Democratic leaders are pulling together a 527 to counter the anti Clinton bias in the mainstream media. I'm tired of CNN, NBC and print media giving Obama such a free pass. Now if only the 527 could give us a closer look at how Axelrod has been working on packaging Obama for the past 15 years for this national run.

Axelrod used Deval Patrick as a stalking horse, shared the draft of the Obama playbook, liked the result in Massachusetts (although we don't) and decided: hey, if people are willing to accept pretty speeches over substance at the state level, let's go "prime time" with Obama next year. And he did. He already had the playbook and the speeches and a candidate he'd already marketed those 15 years - someone with as flimsy a resume as Patrick's.

To return to my original point, Turnaround is fair play. Where do I send my contribution?

Hillary should join the republican party if all her followers want to vote fo McCain...

Posted by: John London | Feb 20, 2008 7:02:42 PM

Furthermore, keep your cookies and your tent, I will never, never, vote Obama.

Posted by: Wil | Feb 20, 2008 6:50:13 PM

If you disagree with this new "Swiftboat Veterans" tactic by Hillary and her 527 write an email to the leader of the group...Bill Titelman. You can do a search on his name and find his law office and email address. We don't need these types of dirty tricks!

The obamabots are such gracious winners. I am in the two thirds I speak about below. Now, I've been following the Clinton home blogs very closely and it appears the Democratic party is in for some serious trouble. One third of Hillary supporters will support Obama if he is the dem candidate, however, fully two thirds will either support McCain or write in Hillary's name come November. Furthermore, come November lets see if the republicans and the independents who voted for Obama will continue to vote for him. If they do not and the Clinton people follow their stated vote today, then all bets are off all around. Guess we'll soon see where the chips fall.
