Rush says he may raise $$$ for Hillary -- so as to ensure she's the Dem nominee

February 08, 2008 1:10 AM

Rush Limbaugh Thursday said he's considering raising cash for Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign so as to ensure she's the Democratic nominee.

Earlier in the week Limbaugh said that if Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is the Democratic presidential nominee, the GOP this November is "doomed."

After the withdrawal of Mitt Romney from the GOP race, Limbaugh said to his listeners, "might it be required (she's having to loan herself money), do you think I should conduct a fundraiser for Mrs. Clinton? Mitt did his part today. He got out so as not to fracture the party any further and not to harm the effort to win the war in Iraq. Should I do my part, not by joining my liberal friends in the Republican Party, but actually raising money for Mrs. Clinton, and asking you to join me, so that she would have a chance here to once again have a good shot at getting a Democrat nomination so that we win the White House?"

Limbaugh underlines that "the reason for raising money for Hillary is because that apparently my party is relying on fear and loathing of Hillary to get the nomination, to unite Republicans, who are, some of them, off the reservation. The Republicans do not seem to be relying on leadership in their party to unite the party. They seem to be relying on all these external things, nobody is going to vote for Hillary, negative turnout factor. What if she's not the nominee? We've got make sure she's the nominee if the Republican Party is to be unified. What more loyal thing could I do than to run a fundraiser for Mrs. Clinton? You watch, though, you watch how that will be questioned."

On Wednesday, Limbaugh said of Clinton, "she just polarizes people. I think she's going to gin up enough anti-Hillary turnout out there to perhaps be a boon to whoever the Republican nominee is. ...Now, if Obama is the nominee, we are doomed, and you should get ready and prepared for it now."

Limbaugh, who has been a thorn in the side of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the GOP presidential frontrunner, predicted that as it becomes more certain that McCain will be the Republican nominee, the media would soon turn on him, "doing stories on his age, and they're not going to be mean, they are not going to be vicious, they're going to be almost sorrowful. ... We're going to get the worst pictures of McCain. We're going to get him looking tired. We're going to hear references to his forgetfulness. 'Isn't it just a shame?' And if that doesn't work, then they're going to do stories on the fact he's nuts. Just mark my words."

People who listen to this guy shouldn't vote. I mean, has there ever been a bigger hypocrite/bigot on the face of the earth? LOL at you guys who actually think he's using 'reverse' or 'reverse reverse' psychology. Sigh. The guy just wants the middle class and poor to continue to be his whipping subjects while the elite he works for fleeces the opposition and even his own supporters. Fools. You will get stung riding on a scorpion's back.

Our politicians are a complete joke.
None of these idiots are capable of
even arranging a trip to the bathroom together. They have collectively sold our country out to the Chinese and made us slaves to the oil producing arab nations.
The only thing that matters to them is whos in power at the end of the day.No more voting for the lesser of 2 evils.
Time to get rid of the federal government and have referendums on everything. We don't need the government. We only need a military.

Has anyone heard how Obama would deal with the mass demand for slave reparations? There are bound to be many black leaders waiting at the oval office to pitch the need to repay all African Americans for the enslavement of their Great,Great,Great Grand-Father.

Why does anyone listen to anything limbaugh says ? Is the 19% lunatic fringe really worth all the effort to keep Republicans in power? Seriously, consider the source, a 21st century "Lord Haw-Haw" with a monkey on his back .Poetic!

If Obama is the dem nominee, I WILL vote for McCain. My biggest fear is Obama will become the nominee and the Repulicans will win again

Rush thinks that there is this big army of anti-Hillary militants hiding in their bunkers and waiting to spring out at any time and vote against Hillary. I think he vastly overestimates the numbers of these forces or even the numbers of his so-called "conservatives". People have better things to do than brood about how much they hate Hillary.

Posted by: Geddy | Feb 9, 2008 7:19:50 PM

This is so pathetic. Despite ALL evidence to the contrary, Hillary supporters can't let it go.

The devotion is admirable, but sickening in its basis. Many of you can't get behind Obama because you have issues with seeing a black as President and are just as sexist as the men you complain about.

Some of you geniuses probably voted for Bush in 2004 too.

Posted by: dionysus | Feb 9, 2008 8:14:53 AM

Its too bad all you cliton supporters are blind to all the hate in your harts. That hate is what drives the partisan nature between the established democratic party and the republicans. The irony is that it is NOT Hillary's fault, it is all the "Osama, Obama" chanting nuts supporting Cliton. Obama's message is of hope and thats why Rush is scared of him. Hope = Rush's kryptonite

Posted by: Dominic | Feb 9, 2008 5:07:45 AM

Obama doesn't stand a chance against McCain, and Rush knows it. That's why he's using REVERSE PYSCHOLOGY. Hillary is popular where it matters: New York, California, Florida, New Jersey, etc. Obama has states like Alabama and Georgia which will definetely go the Republican way.

Hillary is the one the Republicans are scared of, because she is likely to win. Go Hillary!!

Posted by: Kane | Feb 9, 2008 1:15:23 AM

I have this feeling that Republicans might be bankrolling Obama. I believe they are more threatened by the possibility that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic candidate for the presidency, and they will lose because of it. There is way too much Republicans playing this game concerning sending money to Hillary so that she can win, while anothe segment is indicating how polarizing she is and that Obama would be the better choice for Democrats. Personally, I don't buy it. I suspect the Republicans are interfering with the Democratic primaries to ensure that Obama is the Democratic candidate. If this is the case, then Obama will lead the Democratic party to defeat in this presidential election. Race is an issue with many people, as can be seen with the high support of African Americans for Obama. Now, look at it the other way. I suspect that many white people will not be voting for Obama, especially undecided white people. For me, I could care less about Obama's race. I am looking for experience, intelligence, and someone with a backbone. Hillary has been attacked and smeared for years. She has the thick skin, and the intelligence that is needed to have an accomplished presidency, regardless of the antics of the anti-Hillary crowd. Go Hillary!

Posted by: Joe | Feb 9, 2008 12:26:08 AM

You're scared of a Liberal female leader aren't you? So, you all need hatred fuel to ignite your party into uniting and voting....Hmmmmm.....Paints a pretty clear picture of the Republicans...yes indeed.

Posted by: irma | Feb 8, 2008 11:08:01 PM

Wow, I guess this means Hillary is the Uniiiiiitteeeerrrrr. Sure Rush, you may join us, in our philosophy as well. Are you ready to be open minded and surrounded by intelligent, ambitious women? Are you ready to be a Liberal? Rush....come back where are you going? Can we still have your money? Come on Rush, Anne and any of those who are ready to jump the sinking ship. Being a Liberal is pretty good. You get to really care about people...Feels good.....Join US!

Obama is a fraud. He bought his new house fron the already idicted Resko. He spent numerous hours in Court representing this slunlord as an associate in a high powered law firm in Chicago. If he is the Dem's candidate he will be emaciated by the Republican machine. He will go from Goldilocks to Dreadlocks in no time. Hillary would mop McCain's butt in a debate so be careful for what you wish for.

Posted by: david borenstein | Feb 8, 2008 10:39:08 PM

Limbaugh raising money for Hillary...well, even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in a while. When Hillary locks the front door behind W. as he leaves the White House, Limbaugh should be pushing the cart of Bush baggage back to Texas. He bears part of the blame for the Bush disaster that this country now faces. Along the way, they should stop at every home and beg forgiveness.

Posted by: MW | Feb 8, 2008 10:05:18 PM

If Rush donates to Hillary won't that negate the money he and his minions have already donated to Obama?

Make up your mind Rush, and quit flip flopping on this. Are all the Republicans who donated to Obama supposed to match it with a donation to Hillary?

Posted by: John D | Feb 8, 2008 7:19:22 PM

Looking at the polling numbers its ridiculous to think that Obama is the weaker of the two candidates. Outside of those that have convinced themselves that his criticisms of Clinton are gender motivated, he'll get the support of all of her supporters in the general, plus the support of all the young voters, independents and Republicans that are currently supporting him.

The argument that she has more experience is ludicrous -- Obama has more time in elected office than she does, and he had to get there without the benefit of the Clinton name. On top of that his track record is much more solid than hers, particularly his opposition to the Iraq war from day one, and his opposition to Kyl-Lieberman act (which Clinton voted for) that validated Bush's hawkish and reckless policies towards Iran.

He does need to tone down the hope and change talk and start talking more about his policies, which domestically are hardly different than Clinton's, but also will build upon his efforts in the senate to make our federal government more transparent by centralizing information on lobbying, ethics reports, development of independent watchdog agencies to monitor congressional ethics and policies to limit the impact of moneyed special interests in presidential campaigns.

Rush, for all his popularity among rightwing Republicans, is exactly speaking his mind about the imminent loss of the white House to tbe Democrats. No matter which way he spins it, McCain is going to lose whether it's Clinton or Obama. The Republicans are simply lifeless and clueless. the fact is that
whoever wins the Democratic nomination, this psychedelic rightwing bullhorn will not be shy to unleash all his firepower smearing and swearing. it's naive to think he and other zealous conservatives will play nice to Obama should he win the nomination. he will be smashed and ripped to pieces. Is Obama ready for a slugfest?

Posted by: lochukung | Feb 8, 2008 3:00:08 PM

obama would be wise to give up now and beg Hillary to be her vice president... this way he can get on the job training from a REAL LEADER... obama can give his speeches and look pretty and obamaBOTS can be happy with all their motivational/inspirational WORDS while Hillary roles up her sleeves and gets to work and brings about REAL CHANGE, as she has done for a long time now!!!

Posted by: Muniz | Feb 8, 2008 2:28:46 PM

RUSH Slimball is using REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY... He really wants obama to be the nominee but in him saying all this stuff about Hillary, he hopes the democrats will be scared and blinded by FEAR, that they will vote for obama and obama will be BEAT by mccain... obamaBOTS are too blind in following this man; there are a lot of things about obama that has not been given light but IF he was to become the nominee the republicans and news media will have a field day...

Posted by: Muniz | Feb 8, 2008 2:17:48 PM

Hey Rush, face it. American is about to live out the true meaning of its creed. He's supporting Hillary because he knows deep down she's one of them, if she's worth $50 Million. Protecting Corporations and Lobbyists that pocket tax cuts and use the money to set up jobs overseas so they can make more money to pocket. Obama is right, he's figured it out, and he's amassing the little people to halt it all. Hillary's campaign is a smokescreen for the machine and the wealthist 1% of this country. She's using part of her wealth to get the power back. If she get in, it will be nothing but excuses why things can't get done and why Bill's hands are in everything. The one good thing Obama has said, he's kicking the lobbyists out of Washington, because they are the direct line to protecting Corporate profits. Going forward if they want profits they are going to have to earn them by providing the good jobs for people in this country not just charging us higher prices to put the money in their pockets. Cars, food, education, consumer goods, gasoline, medicine etc. don't cost what they are making us pay. More than 30-50% percent of every price is going as profits to the CEO's and wealthy investors to by Million dollar yatchs (I can't even spell them) mansions, stock portfolios, jewels, offshore accounts held in two or three places, while the common people in this country struggle to just put food on the table and a roof over their heads! Like Obama said, "Our time has come!" GET OVER IT RUSH!!!!

Posted by: seeker5058 | Feb 8, 2008 2:05:40 PM

Rush finally got one right . The GOP is doomed. And the Repubs need only look in the mirror to see who did them in !Race hatred and fear just are not the selling points they have been in the past. That and shifting demographics spell the end of the GOP as a major political party. They will not be missed. You do not think so ? Wait and watch .

Posted by: notso | Feb 8, 2008 1:57:42 PM

If Mr. Obama is not the nominee then I advise him to run as independent if he can. He will wipe both McCain and Hillary. We will wait and see!
Go Obama!

Posted by: Dr. K | Feb 8, 2008 1:36:04 PM

I have to admire Hillary. In one week she has engaged the support of both Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh. Its funny to see how afraid they are that they won't have her to use as a punching bag for everything that is wrong with America. If Barack wins the nomination they won't know what to do since many of the red states voted for him.

Posted by: Leslie | Feb 8, 2008 1:22:35 PM

USA was ready for a black president in year 2000. However, Colin Powell decided not to run. He would have got votes from Republicans as well as Non - republicans. He was much qualified and experienced. Later he joined Bush administration as Secretary of State and they made him a liar.
Obama has no qualifications or experience and no one - even blacks - vote for him. Skin color should not be the criteria to vote for him.

Barefootboy-very ingnorant statement-seeing he was raised and schooled(paid) by his white grandmother. Also where were you during the Clinton Administration-they did a lot for the black community in Bill's adminstration"

"Obama is going to win this thing and when he gets in there he is going to straighten you white folks out. You have run this country too long. I'm waiting for this day."

There is going to be a lot of McCain democrates if Obama gets the nomination, exactly what the republicans and the media wants. The DNC is playing right into thier hands. They are all ready to nail him on his abortion vote in Illinois to termnate a baby that has survived a botched abortion- it's been posted on some of the GOP sites and this will lose him those red caucus states that he just won and is flaunting like they are some real prize. I don't know where he has been or is smoking but they will still be red in November. Look how the country has gone in most war time elections-Not with candidates like Obama. America and the DNC need to wake up-thier party is fractured beyond repair at this point. This is getting way to drawn out and Howard Dean has no way of controlling the demigod Obama he has created.

To Mike @ Feb 8, 2008 11:07:26 AM

Hill's got the experience. Political experience that is.

That means riding shotgun with Bill through all the smoke filled rooms. Learning first hand where and when to stick the other guy with the shiv. How to kneecap, how to spin, how to say and do whatever it takes to win without losing a minute of sleep.

She'll take down Obama sooner or later. Maybe in the smoke filled room at the convention. Maybe earlier.

See Huck knows all of this and watched it going down from the front row back in the day.

He'll be ready to take on Hill and Bill.

Go Huck Go.

Hillary wants to debate with Obama on tv every week because she ran out of campaign money and wants to get on TV for free. I remember 2 months ago she said he wasnt in her league.

Coulter and Limbaugh want to raise money for her because she and the Clintons are members of the republic tha the U.S. is .ie (the establishment)-not republicans in name only. Obama's health care plan is actually more conservative than hers.

How is Hill's experience different than Obama's experience? Both have a few years in the US Senate.. Obama actually has a little more, having served at the State level

Posted by: Mike | Feb 8, 2008 11:07:26 AM

If anything, this negative press implicitly helps Obama get the nomination, and Rush is smart enough to know that. This just confirms that Rep. are just itching to get Obama in the General Election, because they know Hillary is the stronger candidate!

Posted by: Anita | Feb 8, 2008 10:58:08 AM

I would vote for Hillary Clinton over John McCain. However if Obama is nominated...

ANOTHER DEMOCRAT FOR MCCAIN

Posted by: stature | Feb 8, 2008 10:42:18 AM

Obama is much better on issues of government accountability than Clinton. Libertarian types who think the Republicans ought to be punished for the transgressions of the last few years can vote for Obama, but would choose McCain over Clinton.

Obama is also much better about welcoming people of faith into his vision of a unified America.

Rush is right. Obama will cherry pick libertarians and Rick Warren evangelicals from the Republicans and will win in a landslide. Clinton won't get either of those groups and she'll pull out a squeaker at best.

Posted by: Creamy Goodness | Feb 8, 2008 10:32:00 AM

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." If Mr. Limbaugh holds such a low opinion of Sen. McCain, I might just have to reconsider my prospective vote for President and examine the Senator from Arizona and his policies more closely!

More seriously, though, the moment Mr. Limbaugh holds a fund-raiser for Sen. Clinton is the moment that civilization and any semblance of order as we know it in this universe will cease to exist, not to mention that Hell will have frozen over.

Posted by: chuck | Feb 8, 2008 10:04:45 AM

It seems like GOP will be the next U.S President again. Wakeup DEM, use your vote smartly, I don't think Senator Obama can beat Senator John McCain. Election is not a game. Last 7 years is more than enough for you to learn the lesson of how difficult your life is under this current GOP President.
Believe me, not many people will vote for a young and in-experience African American for President in this November. I intend to vote for Senator John McCain or not go to the poll if DEM pick a non experience leader. Like others moderated DEM, I always vote for a good Candidate or not to vote at all.

I think I agree with Rush, and I am a Democrat! that cares more about civil and equal rights that any other topic! These "Cult like" followers of Obama have no idea what they are voting for or why. Do they just think that its all gonna be pretty and different like a black eyed peas video? and that Obama brings no controversy to the table?? or that he isn't angry deep down if for no other reasons(like 400 yrs of oppression) then about the fact that race is even an issue in his work towards the nomination?? Or that he faces no pressure to become bias?? WAKE UP people! On the news they say Obama is getting all of the Black vote... well if you were black and knew that there had never been a black president wouldn't you expect folks to possibly vote for him just based on that fact? and if you wouldn't I would. And doesn't this put an overwhelming amount of pressure on him.. Are we ready??? Now do not get me wrong I WISH!!! that we, in America were to a point socially (where all are TOTALLY forgiven for their ancestors mistakes and wrongdoings and where we all could untie as one people under God and be loved and accepted by one another) where we could have a black president without controversy or concern. The water hasn't even stopped boiling yet people and we think we are ready... Like I said I wish we were. There is way too much indifference, anger and misunderstanding and the pressures Obama would face would be too much for any man. I talked to some friends the other day and they said "Obama isn't just some angry black man he is for everyone hes different and he wouldn't be bias...." Then I asked them if they thought that barely 40 years after the end of segregation and the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did they think that it was possible for Obama to not have anger? or to not be indifferent when it comes to issues surrounding race? They paused... Then I told them that I wished that black people hadn't had to suffer for 400 years of everything from slavery to being emotionally stripped of their pride and identity and not being allowed to so much as learn or exercise the most basic of civil liberties. I also wished that we as a society were further along and closer than we all are, and that the sad truth was that We aren't., and you can't erase the last 400 years in 40. Then I told my friends that my parents and theirs had fought for civil rights and that we are still having to fight for civil and equal rights even if we don't realize it. Since I have made a wide diverse group of friends I hear all points of view and from what I gather we all long for a society where any man can be president without news reporters and everyone else asking "Are we ready for a black president". However that is not the society we are living in, its sad but true. I just don't feel that given that sad but true circumstances of where we are at as a people that we are ready or that it would be the best thing for our country.(**This doesn't mean that part of me doesn't Really wish that Obama would win and that it would unite us even more as a people, black & white, Spanish & Asian .. everyone! ALL Americans)

You may ask If we aren't ready now then when?? Well, I can't give you that answer, but I think we will be closer to being ready when we stop hearing about stories like "The Jena 6" and when the media doesn't bring up race everytime they talk about delegates. Like I said 40 cannot erase 400.

I believe that this situation would create too much pressure on sen. Obama and he would feel pressure to make bias decisions. I don't know that Hillary is the best non-bias candidate but I do feel that she wouldn't have the overwhelming pressure on her that Obama would have on him, and I just don't feel Obama is ready to deal with that emotional storm pounding down on him.

I advise young voters like myself (20-30) to really think about Everything when they are voting. It seems that just because Obama has a video and Oprah that he has this young cult like following of folks who seem when asked to have no idea why they are behind Obama other than Hes young, cool and popular. I think some of these young people think that they will be helping move us forward in regards to civil & equal rights and race relations when actually they may be going about it the wrong way. The way to help America would be to Learn as much as possible and I dont mean in a classroom. These young people need to leave their waspy neighborhoods and meet new people in other neighborhoods and hear what other folks have to say. Then after taking it all in they need to ponder and ponder and ponder some more. Finally after getting out on the streets and I do mean all streets from low income inner-city all the way to wealthy subdivisions and then after all the pondering, talking to folks, and then pondering some more then they should vote based on what they feel is best for our country.

Instead we have people "Jumping on the band wagon" because of hip-hop videos and what the media has referred to as "Brainwashing" and voting based on how Cool they think someone is.

Whichever candidate wins the nomination still has to make it through the Election and the GOP is already starting to unite itself.. So I recommend we unite as dems and put a democrat in office, and the best way to do this is if Obama would drop and become Hillary's running mate and vice president, then we would win for sure. Then maybe Obama would be ready to run for president after a term or two of being vice president.

I hope that Hillary gets the nomination because I feel she is more qualified to handle the pressures she will face as President, and I don't think that she would face the enormous extra amount of pressure that Obama would face.

In cosing I would like to say that there are too many people voting for the wrong reasons (Both for and against), and I feel that the reason someone is elected should have nothing to do with what they look like or for that matter if they have a hip-hop video or can play the sax.

Posted by: do you know why you are voting for..... | Feb 8, 2008 9:44:22 AM

Yes, this is just what the U.S. needs right now - advice from an Oxy-Contin addict that probably doesn't even know what planet he is on most of the time and doesn't really care. Is this what we have stooped to? Idiots in the WH and addicted avisors trying to sway votes? The scary part is that some Americans think this guy is wonderful and actually agree with him. Man, we are in bigger trouble than I thought.

By the way, when is someone going to get into their $10-$50 M fortune?? I'd bet it's mostly foreigners laundering $$$ through Bill in the form of inflated lecture fees to support Hillary's grab for power (to the detriment of the good ol' USA).

The last part of that statement may be the smartest thing Rush has ever said. He knows the GOP can't compete against Obama and the wave of congress memebers he'll bring with him.

Too bad Dems are blinded by benign racism and allegiance to the Clintons.

Open your eyes DEMS!! When you have Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter trying to push Hillary thru as an easy target for Repubs, doesn't that tell you something???????

Thanks for the offer, Rush, but no thanks. Its precisely these kinds of tactics that undermine our political process, and give a bad name to the Republican Party. Trying to 'fix' the race ... both sides of the aisle are sick of it.

Team Hillary should get endorsements and fundraise from major corporations such the areospace, energy and coal industries, gold, oil siver miners and indusreiws that support the lobbies that help the world's resource develpments. This is because as President she will encounter these world banks and trade organizations in our economic survival. I know she will be a excellent choice in the global relations and envied by the European and African Unions.

Rush is just throwing a tantrum because he's worried about his ratings. Since when did he actually care about the United States?

Posted by: Tom J | Feb 8, 2008 7:40:43 AM

Tammy,

I have to disagree. Right now Rush is railing on McCain for ratings. The polls still show that Obama has a lead of McCain. Not Hillary. You give Rush way too much credit. Obama has the independents and swing states needed to beat McCain. Also, can people of both camps please refrain from typing in all caps? Please.

The important thing is not whether the Democratic candidate is Obama or Clinton; EITHER would be better than a Republican. THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.

The Republicans have had 7 years with Bush and most of that time with a majority in Congress, and where are we? NO PLACE AMERICA WANTS TO BE.

VOTE DEMOCRAT IN NOVEMBER!

John McCain has close to no chance against Obama and even Clinton:

Unless of course something on the war front changes or a Gulf of Tonkin like incident to fuel security concerns...

Get ready for a new movement -- "McCain Democrats" -- if Hillary is the nominee.

Is RUSH really a Democrat that has being sabotaging the Republican party with his foul mouth

Posted by: dirty harry | Feb 8, 2008 5:55:05 AM

Its too bad all you cliton supporters are blind to all the hate in your harts. That hate is what drives the partisan nature between the established democratic party and the republicans. The irony is that it is NOT Hillary's fault, it is all the "Osama, Obama" chanting nuts supporting Cliton. Obama's message is of hope and thats why Rush is scared of him. Hope = Rush's kryptonite

wonky-tonk: So if conservatives really believe that Hillary is the easier candidate to defeat, why are they not organizing to vote FOR here in the open primaries coming up?

See my comment below on this subject.

Actually, in all the hypothetical polls, Obama fares much better against McCain than Clinton does. Every poll i've seen shows Obama would win against McCain. Only *most* of the polls show Clinton beating McCain, but by a narrower margin, and a few show her losing.

Whatever you may think of Obama, he currently has the far better odds of beating McCain. And one reason for that is because he appeals to independents much more than Clinton does. Another reason is because Clinton polarizes people to the point where a lot of people on both sides of the aisle despise and distrust her. Another reason is that Obama has much greater appeal to younger people with an appetite for shaking things up, of which there are a great many in the US now.

Whatever Limbaugh's motives may be, don't underestimate Obama.

Please DO raise money for her, Rush. But don't make it a token amount; really get out there and raise BIG MONEY. We'd all love to see this blow up in your blowhard face!

Posted by: Gregoire | Feb 8, 2008 3:39:49 AM

If blowhards like Limbaugh REALLY wanted the Republican nominee to run against Hillary, there is one surefire way to do it: Have Republicans vote for Hillary in the open primaries that are coming up like Virginia, Wasington, Texas, Ohio, etc.

The GOP race has been decided. McCain is the nominee. Therefore, now Republicans have the chance to put their votes where their mouths are.

If they really want to face Hillary this fall they have the power to make that happen.

So why haven't we heard even ONE right-wing talk show host pitching this strategy?

The problem here is that the very LAST thing on this earth that Limbaugh, Hanity, Coulter, et. al. really want is to face the Clinton machine again. They've already been beaten twice by that machine and are NOT looking for a rematch.

The last thing they pray for before they close their beady little eyes every night is that Obama beats Clinton in the Dem primary.

I wish Obama was for real. Unfortunately, it really is a fairy tale. Do the research. I wanted to believe it too. Lets get back to double digit job growth and an economic surplus. If Obama is the nominee we will have at least 4 more years of Iraq under McCaine. Believe me. It's not personal. The Republicans will blow Obama away.

Posted by: Integrity matters | Feb 8, 2008 3:00:14 AM

Yeah...right! Duh, his pathetic attempt to discount Hillary only shows how desperate he is to get Obama elected so the Republicans can rip him an new ###.

News flash...the drug addict (Oxycontin user) Rush is so full of himself. He doesn't know what is up or down.

Wake up call.. we aren't on drugs like him. Therefore, our intellectual choice in voting for Hillary Clinton will continue to kick...! I wish Obama had the cajones to accept her challenge on debates. He is such a punk..instead, he makes vague references (as usual) about "change...we....us...now...change...you!"

Whatever!

If Hillary could only get a charisma transplant and effectively hide all the lobby money she gets she might have a chance against Obama who is the most exciting thing to happen in American politics since JFK!

Posted by: SMH | Feb 8, 2008 2:29:46 AM

Barack Obama is going to face the full force of both the Clinton Machine and the GOP simultaneously.

He will win.

Posted by: Andrew Heine | Feb 8, 2008 1:58:04 AM

So the only thing standing between the GOP and total doom is the guy Rush Limbaugh used to call O'Dumbo?

Gosh, Rush - how things can change in only a matter of months....

Hillary for president...president of Kazakhstan. There you go...problem solved.

Take Bill with you. He can play uranium miner along with his Russian friends.
