Shuster Returns
February 23, 2008 7:21 PM
With Pimp-gate in his rear-view mirror, David Shuster has returned to MSNBC and he's given an exclusive interview to our friend Gail Shister over at TVNewser.
He puts his suspension in context of the other complaints Democrats have launched against MSNBC-ers such as Don Imus and Chris Matthews.
"I'm aware of the long list of complaints the Clinton campaign had about people from MSNBC," he says. "Tensions were clearly building. I was at the wrong place at the right time, or the right place at the wrong time. I don't know which."
He adds about his inappropriate use of the word "pimped" that he learned a lesson and has "the responsibility to make my point precisely and aggressively, without using coarse language."
Classy interview, and I'm sure he'll be happy to return to being a political reporter and not a chew-toy in a political dogfight.

HRC's reaction to the "pimped out" comment is as phony as her "shame on you barack obama tirade".

MSNBC, The Daily Show and, in the early days, CNN kept my sanity intact while I rode out the Bush Administration's time in office. I couldn't wait until the Democratic Primary voting process began....and suddenly...there it was...the same brainwashing Fox News uses against Democrats was being used against Senator Clinton. I never thought Democrats would eat one of their own. I wrote MSNBC about how Keith Obermann spoke for me in his many commentaries that pertained to President Bush and his Administration, but we now have the same person being unfair to a Democratic candidate for POTUS and using the heart-felt capital bestoed on him being used to unfairly show bias against Senator Clinton. As far as I am concerned Senator Clinton is up against a third candidate in the race and it is the cable news channels. Was it too much to ask to let the people make a choice without bias reporting? Inhumane treatment isn't just on Animal Plant. Goodbye cable news.

We have about eight more months of biased media coverage for Obama to listen to.
Looks like the Weather Channel, TV Land, Discovery, Travel Channel, Food Network, and DVD's will make up the bulk of my video entertainment.
At least Ralph Nader will be there to offer some different views from that of the two corporate political parties.

I, too, am getting fed up with the MSNBC fawning over Obama. It makes me sick, and I have been a long-time watcher of all shows. No more...too biased. By the way, if Obama's mother was white, why does he consider himself black? Is it because being black is more beneficial to him, ie. Harvard education, He is NOT qualified to be president...looks like I don't vote this year!!!

I used to watch Olberman on MSNBC every night, but no more. Dan Abrams seems fair so far. Did anyone see SNL tonight with Tina Fay? I loved the opening bit showing TV pundits fawning over Obama and cutting off Hillary as she answers a question: it's the first time I saw a true reflection of what I've been seeing on TV. TV anchors and pundits are not even making an attempt to appear impartial; they could almost be wearing Obama campaign buttons. What would be so bad about having 2 smart people (Hillary with Bill) in the White House? Do we really want to go with the person with the charming affable persona again rather than the smart one who truly knows policy?

Well if we are going to cover up the cracks in America with scandals and hide the fact that people are losing their homes, gas prices food prices up. It shows how much influence companies have on their owned TV stations. Fill the media with Britney Spears, Gossip over politicians and fill the air waves with "expert commentators" who infiltrate the people in America with false reports.
How can a created phantom rise to the occasion and become the front runner in a presidential election if he does not have the backing of the media. I am not naming names. How can people put up with this distorted 50% truths without challenging the truth.

hey what does the Globe magazine and NY times have in common? they both have reached the lowest level of reporting.
Shuster, MSNBC, CNN, FOX are all a bunch of talking heads with no brains. I feel the coverage of this election this year has been one collective one mind like the BORG they all spew their hatred and anger but the truth is hidden somewhere.....its a sad day in American media

It's interesting that Shuster puts himself in the same ring as Chris Matthews and Don Imus, two infamous newscasters who say they report the news. They are as bad as Rush Limbaugh spewing out their hate and venom until it lands on an innocent group of black women from Rutgers. The current state of broadcast journalism poisons the atmosphere. It is they who have helped to perpetuate the poisoned atmosphere in Washington by their constant downgrading of people who try to serve. Please bring back Jerry Falwell (God rest his soul), Pat Robertson, and Newt Gingrich so that they can see themselves in the mirror. Forget that; they have exceeded that benchmark for poisoning the political scene. Chelsea Clinton did not deserve such a remark just as the Rutgers women did not. Those victims are just the tip of the iceberg. MSNBC and CNN have repeatedly joined in to hammer negatives on people they do not like. Why can't we have unfiltered news without all the snide, cutesy, hate-drenched remarks? Before too long, more people will get their news by researching on the internet, and it will not include blogs from CNN, MSNBC, and FOX.
If Shuster were really remorseful, he would not have put himself in any kind of context with Imus and Matthews. He alone is the person responsible for following their sleazy ways.

Both MSNBC and CNN have lost all sense of objectivity in the Democratic presidential race. It's truly disgusting to see the fawning over Obama that goes on every night on these channels. I for one have stop tuning in to both channels. Its too obvious who their "horse" is and the media should remain neutral in the contest at least while their on the air. By manipulating the "news stories" always to slant in favor of Obama, these two channels are trying to skew the election by influencing retards who can't think for themselves. We shouldn't let the media pick our candidate. But since most meet the profile of Obama's following - wealthy, white, educated males it's no wonder we see the malicious pontificating by these commentators bashing Clinton every chance they get. Chris Matthews comments were no less offensive than Shuster, and if MSNBC had any sense of fairness, they would have pulled him off the air too to take a break from the Obama hysteria.

you may be happy he'll return to being a political "reporter," but i'm not. he should've been fired. he would've been fired in a new york minute if he had made an inappropriate comment about obama or anyone in his family. msnbc has become worse than fox - at least with fox they don't pretend to be anything other than republican. the msnbc (and cnn) bunch pretend to be objective, but are so far the opposite that i will no longer tune them in - ever! the only way to send the message that we want real journalism, not tabloids pretending to be journalists, is to cause their ratings to go into the dump.

He should have been fired like Imus.

So, this is interesting...it's the Clintons that are being sensitive to comments from MSNBCers and not the irresponsible so called news staff...Not impartial, not news worthy and certainly not trustworthy, just judgmental and typical male attitude toward a female poliical figure. Bye, Bye MSNBC!
