Yes We Can?

February 11, 2008 2:11 PM

Someone has posted a spoof of the pro-Obama video "Yes We Can" mocking Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

You can watch it HERE.

Very funny! Great satire which may hit a little too close to home for some McCain supporters.

President hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama locked horns once again on a televised debate last Monday. Held just before the South Carolina primary, the debate saw the two democratic candidates tongue lashing each other to gain an upper hand.

Obama opened the first round by accusing Clinton of saying anything to get elected. Clinton parried easily by stating that it was hard to debate with someone who never took responsibility for any vote he cast. The third candidate on the telecasted debate, John Edwards intervened, accusing both candidates of squabbling. This opening act set the stage for the ensuing debate.

Hilarious tagline:
"McCain: like hope, but different"

In all fairness (and that's what new-style politics are about, remember?) his '100 years' line was taken way out of context. He was explaining that not all troop situations are the same.

His example was the U.S. troops stationed in Germany for over 50 years. They're not in mortal danger, they're doing good things, and Americans aren't protesting about them. Iraq's recovering from their war, and if and when they get to the same point Germany did, we could keep troops there and it would be a similar situation.

I don't agree with McCain on a lot of issues, but I can try my best to not 'mischaracterize' what he's saying and keep discussions 'reality-based'.

Ruraliowan, the caucuses do not report the number of caucus participants. The numbers you see are the number of state convention delegates that are elected and who are bound to a particular candidate.

That video is very funny. I imagine when stuff like this starts coming out about Hillary or Barack, they'll be crying just like John Kerry did about the 527 PACs in 2004.

It was ok in 2004, when Bush was being attacked, but when Kerry started getting attacked, then it was crying time again.

It's brilliant,... & all fair shots too!

Ouch -- that's powerful anti-McCain stuff.

In fairness to Senator McCain, in his original statement regrading keeping our troops for in Iraq for "10,000 years," he went on to add that it would be acceptable only "if no Americans are being killed there," or words to that affect.

However, I doubt that'll make any difference to most voters. America and its military simply cannot afford a massive, open-ended military presence in Iraq, or anywhere else in the middle East. Talk about "sitting ducks"....

Ah the libs get us into war but then complain when the republicans fight the war!!

The libs act like they care about the troops, but yet stab them in the back when they return!

The libs try to hide their hatred of America by saying we support the troops!

The Libs say they believe in the Constitution by try to re-write it against the constitution!

By the way look at history the Liberal party is very close to Nazism, if you take a moment and read up how The Nazi's came to power!

ruraliowan -exactly. Look at how many people showed up to vote in Florida. What was it 3 million?

Jake: The voters are missing from last weekends contests. I don't see how anyone can be winning when people aren't showing up at the polls.

After looking at this weekend's results today, I found the following
statistics: Maine 3,475 vote out of 308,000; Kansas 36,634 vote out of
428,115; Washington 31,621 vote out of 3,735,272 (or 1/3 that since
Washington voters don't declare party affiliation.

Do the non-voters not care?? Hate both? The caucuses aren't working, but
they are awarding delegates.
