Asked About Widespread Rumors Hillary Clinton Will Be on 'Saturday Night Live' This Evening ...

March 01, 2008 7:24 PM

... A spokesman for the show would only say, "It's a live show, anything can happen."

Yes, SNL certainly owe Hillary (even if they soon will claim that they contributed succesfully to her total downfall), but more striking is how Hillary owes Jake Tapper for continuing to focus on the whining captain of a sinking ship, while missing the deeper story of the rise of one of the greatest phenomenons in our modern times world politics.

YES.

Hillary was great.

when Hillary Clinton wins 11 primary contests in a row - she will get more positive media coverage as well

it's about winning --

When Hillary was the inevitable up until the Iowa Caucus she got all the positive media

People forget - but this is the reality

No thanks...that cackle of hers is not what I want to hear this evening.

She really shouldn't try and be funny anyway. It just goes nowhere with her.

"SNL is where failed candidates go for free attention when they've run out of cash and falling behind in the race"

Uhm wasn't Barack Obama on SNL? Apparently he thought it was a good idea.

There are eleven million Hillary supporters and growing, Obama has slightly more. Had any of us had ever wanted to vote for Obama we would have done so long ago. If we should lose none of us are going away and we still won't support Obama. Approximately one quarter will vote Obama, one quarter will write in Hillary, and the other fifty percent will support McCain. Me, I can't vote for some one I know nothing about, nor has the pres found the courage to properly vet him, a last I do know about McCain.

Not to change the subject; but does anyone notice that McCain is getting a lot of uneventful, yet positive press coverage on CNN, MSNBC and FOX? He is actually getting more than Hillary and Barack; which is really weird since there are more people for both of our candidates. Hmmmmm....Me thinks the Ride may be coming to an end soon. Unless Oprah can buy them out.....

I have not watched SNL for about 20 years; that is changing now...I am a renewed SNL fan! I am happy and ready to laugh! Thanks SNL!

"""Well that's where her..."the sky will open up and celestial choirs will sing" quips belong."""

If that's the case, Obama campaign rallys should replace the PTL program on TBN.

"...a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany" and you will suddenly realize you must get to the phones and donate to Obama.

Well that's where her "Shame on you, Barack Obama" and "the sky will open up and celestial choirs will sing" quips belong. Fine for a skit on SNL, not appropriate for a Presidential candidate.

People are so cynical in this world. Just enjoy the show and stop being so closed minded. Obama and Clinton are both politicians in their own right. I'm sorry obama fans but he's just the same old politician!! Hillary 08

Hillary is the next Mike Huckabee!!

SNL is where failed candidates go for free attention when they've run out of cash and falling behind in the race.

LOL. She belongs on a comedy, since her campaign is a real joke!

Posted by: James | Mar 1, 2008 8:33:05 PM

SNL is a comedy.

The only joke here is Hillary who is so far off in fantasyland that she treats it like it is news.

This lady is bat**** crazy.

I can't wait!

Wake up Jerome-it is not really media bias per se, it's who has the money to buy from the media. Obama is plush, he buys time, he gets the soft pedaling. They have laid off just a bit on Hillary since she came up with $35M. Look for McCain to take a beating, he has the smallest war chest. I don't feel bad about that happening to McCain, however, it is sad that this game is played.

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Mar 1, 2008 8:09:53 PM

Perhaps they will give her a job.

This media-bias argument is shallow considering the media loved Hillary first, showered her with attention and all but brought the crown to her. And now, no offense, even on ABC, I see them overcompensating on both Political Radar and here on the Punch, more Clinton coverage without comment or analysis. Just look at the headlines to the left and count the number of "Clinton" at the beginning.

Have you guys been scolded into submission or what? Now you are letting SNL scold you too--at what point does SNL switch from being the parody, to being the example? And does that leave the networks playing parody?

Posted by: Jerome | Mar 1, 2008 8:03:13 PM

Yeah, right, Marie. The press has been so pro-Clinton it isn't funny. (Of course, SNL isn't funny, either.) Exhibit one--this column.

Posted by: observer | Mar 1, 2008 7:59:04 PM

So you're Microsoft and you complain about media bias because you don't' have a winning message and the upstart Google is killing you.

Let's expose the stupidity of the Hillbot female support. If you can't win with such a brand name advantage, you deserve to lose.

Posted by: Coltrane | Mar 1, 2008 7:49:41 PM

SNL was dead-on in their expose of pro-Obama media bias. Too bad the writer's strike lasted so long that we had to wait until late February to get this richly deserved media smackdown.

Posted by: Marie | Mar 1, 2008 7:36:43 PM

Well, lots of PR for SNL, anyway!

They certainly owe her!!!
